Great review! This Bible has somewhat of a sentimental value to be too. It was the Catholic Bible i used most when i was in the process of converting. Good translation and helpful notes without being overbearing. I wish the margins were bigger because the text goes pretty far into the center hinge when open. I'm not a huge fan of the text either. I think the letter spacing could have been increased more.
My my diocese, the Greek Orthodox diocese of Boston, the RSV is the translation of scriptures provided for us in the service books. Question: will you review the NRSVue? I’m curious about the differences between this, the NRSVue and the original NRSV.
@@ConvincedCatholicism i recently bought the compact version of the RSV and the Leather edition of ignatius press as well as the compact edition of the new testament and psalms
Love this bible ❤️ Highly recommended as family bible. Not for travelling and if you like to highlight this isn’t the bible for you. I’d like to keep it pristine ✨
I got the St Ignatius Bible large print edition (soft cover and hard cover editions, both dark blue covers )- I cherish both and read both in their entirety Both are huge thick and heavy but the word font size of the main text is HUGE There is also a 3rd version of the large print edition - a leather blue cover with gold edged pages ! It’s the most expensive of the three (I don’t own one because of the price )
@@ConvincedCatholicism I'd call seeming to deny the divinity of Christ to be pretty bad alright. th-cam.com/video/9zj6wOeznUY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qjtjiV_uWiow7xp-
Thank you, you have taught me something about the Bible that the Sisters did not teach me about in nine years of Catholic school.
God bless
great review, I just got this bible! and am enjoying it so far
glad to hear you are enjoying it

Welcome home! I never thought of the margins as issues per say but I can definitely see that as an issue
I cant wait to get mine!
It’s a great bible

I didn’t know it existed but you sparked my curiosity! My best guess would be some words and footnotes in this will be more Catholic oriented
i love this bible, a friend of mine introduced it to me last year
Glad to hear!

how is the font size for you? looks kind of small, but maybe it looks better in person?
I have particularly good eyesight. The font for me is fine.

This is a great option as a family bible, I agree
This is my in-house bible, I also bought the travel version for the road
Great choice for a home bible!

The blue version is often coveted! Hopefully one day you can get it!
@@ConvincedCatholicismi got the blue cover version (paperback and hardcover)
It’s a fantastic bible
Truly is
The best English translation of God's Word today is the Revised Standard Version, 2nd Catholic Edition.
(The New American Bible is blasphemous.)
I have heard that abt the NABRE before. Apparently the footnotes are really bad

This Bible is completed? With Old and New testament? Thanks.
Yes it contains all the books of the Old and New Testament
Thanks! 😀@@ConvincedCatholicism
First bad sign. Why a Catholic Bible calls the Deuterocanon Apocrypha?
I wouldn't say it is meant to be offensive or suspicious toward the Deuterocanon. I think they are just trying to use a common term.
It doesn't. It says that Catholics call them deuterocanonical but acknowledges that Protestants sometimes call them apocrypha.
