I started my career as a Line Service Tech at the Citation Service Center in Wichita back in 1973. I progressed into becoming an A&P mechanic. While going through the school I worked alongside other A&P mechanics installing the very first set of thrust reversers on a Citation. I moved on to other companies through the 70's and 80's landing the ultimate corporate job in Colorado Springs. Only a year after hiring on they filed chapter 11 and let the flight department go. I looked at general aviation, especially in the business jet market as a dying breed. Fuel prices were going out the roof and inflation was pretty high. I left the aviation field with that in mind thinking I was being wise. Wow, what a mistake. As you can see the world of Business jets has boomed since then and I always regretted getting out. We live with our descisions and life has been good anyway. Moral of the story is that it looks like business jets will be around a long time.

Yeah but those price tags for those models are for the elite level. Definitely a better market for the cj4. I'm a corporate pilot and that's the one that makes the most practical since in every aspect across the board. Speed, cabin size efficiency and less complete operations cost. It's a bad dude and most importantly single pilot while basically breaking into the barriers of medium class aircraft. That's an engineering marvel in itself. CJ4 is a very impressive aircraft. Kinda funny you mentioned the 10 but who doesn't like size and with a strong tailwind over seas hitting mach 1, such an ego toy for sure and I'd agree who wouldn't want to fly in one especially if you're the pilot but I'm talking on a across the board day to day life practical business jet. CJ4 is breaking the barriers for single pilot aircraft.

It's a shame the development of the Citation Hemisphere was halted. It would have been a remarkable addition to the supermidsize/large jet class, and I think would have dominated that category compared to the older Falcon 2000 and Challenger 650 models. NetJets had even signed a large order for the Hemisphere; it's such a shame it was never built.

      @@loretog7315 Yes they all overlap.
      Lockheed bought out General Dynamics.
Textron is mostly owned by Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffet's controlled investment group
Textron owns most of Cessna, Hawker, Beechcraft, E3, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics and much more.
Of course BlackRock and the Vanguard Group both CIA operations own much of these also and a big piece of everything and much more.

Glossy brochure without much information. It takes more information to grab my attention. The CJ4 is single pilot but you failed to state this for the others so I presume they require two pilots. Range and cruise altitudes and speeds are critical. I can’t get very excited unless these numbers are good. Then it would be nice but not critical to know the minimum runway lengths for takeoff and landing at maximum loads. I’m not planning to land on remote unimproved short fields anyway. I’m not a bush pilot and don’t want to be one. I’m not knocking Bush pilots. They’re fantastic but I have other interests.

People love speed but the 10 across the board is not practical. I use to see these almost daily as a lineman at Wilson air many years ago before becoming a corporate pilot. The 10 or X if you may is built solely for speed but isn't practical in many different scenarios across the board. Would take awhile to list those factors but it's a sheet full of reasons. Love that bird though because who doesn't like speed since it's naturally a human obsession!
