There's a twin turboprop that's a worthy competitor for some of these, the Piaggio Avanti P180. Super aerodynamic, it's as fast as the average biz jet, but much more economical to fly. And it looks cool as hell.
The moral is if your company is needing a small corporate jet(s) before it needs needing a bigger jet(s) best to checkout the company that makes it, otherwise the company will go bust and will be gone, and you'll be screwed for maintenance and spares. Cessna's offerings might be more expensive, but you'll know that Cesena isn't going anywhere soon.
A question: when you say "miles per hour", do you meen terrestrial miles or nautical miles. In the aeronatical community "knots" is the right term for velocity and Nautical Miles is the appropiate term for range. "Miles per hour " is a bit confusing. Thanks for the info. Cheers from NE patagonia, Argentina.
@@matthelord7695 Both, Terrestrial and nautical are called miles. The diference in between are: TM (Terrestrial Mile) messures 1609 meters (or 1,609 Kilometers), and NM (Nautical Mile) messures 1852 meters (or 1,852 Kilometers). The ratio in between both is 1,15078, witch meens 1 NM is equal to 1,15 TM. In other words, 1 NM is 15% longer than 1TM; therefor the velocity mentioned in the video is confusing. Most of the terminology used in aeronautical lengage comes from the nautical environment, and in nautical terms, speed is always mentioned in "Knots", witch are Nautical Miles per hour. It was absolutely not my intention to disrespect anybody with my comment. I hope this answer clears a bit your concerns. I wish you well. Cheers from NE patagonia, Argentina. BTW, I´m a former pilot.
@@walterweigert9840 its easier for me to understand how far or fast we are in miles than nautical miles because we use miles all the time and not nautical miles
A couple things: Does your cost figure not include the price of financing the jet? I don't feel like going to check your math and figure it out myself at the moment. The Honda jet was designed by American engineers working for an American aviation branch of the Honda company. But call it japanese engineering if you'd like.

The Eclipse actually had great potential and I think it was pratt and whitney's greedy pricing that killed them. 2023 price per engine was 911k$. Not easy to make money on a half million dollar jet when pratt and whitney wants 2million dollars in protection money. What Eclipse should do is make their own engine. Because the Eclipse is so great that it has better fuel economy than a Baron 58 piston twin while going 60% faster in jet silence. A small jet engine like the one they use is simply not that hard to make, it's machining of completely conventional steel and inconel. No exotic bearings or metal. As I see it it's simpler than a piston engine to make yet they are priced VERY differently. VW said a few years ago that their typical 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine cost them 2k€ each and that's not a simple engine. Yet that's 0.25% of the price pratt wants for one engine. The high pressure turbine in the PW610f is so small you can palm it in your hand. And that has to cost 1million dollars... I really don't think so. It's so despicable because it's really arresting GA. If they had a more reasonable price, say 50k then people would build all kinds of amazing aircraft around it. It's actually what the 100million dollar nasa project in 2000 tried to do. Williams got 39million dollars to develop a small engine and delivered nothing. They could just have scaled down their existing engines but no... nothing. The truly mindblowing thing is that turbofan jets can have as good or better fuel economy than piston props. And I know which one is cooler and more capable. And because jet engines are light for their power you can make truly ridiculous aircraft with more thrust to weight ratio than fighter jets. Able to climb straight up. So much untapped potential in GA. We could have had personal jets with good efficiency in the 1960s. Yet it wasn't done.
