    Very nice. Really wish you would have shown it finished. And as for these people saying this isn't handmade they do not understand what goes into making something like this. These tools are here to help us it's not like you used a computer to do all the work and you just hit a button. You did a great job. And I'm sure your family enjoyed their gift. We just made my mother an end grain cutting board with white oak in the middle then put an edge of black walnut. Waiting for the glue to dry now so we can put the oil on it. As a woodworker, for me at least that is my favorite part. It brings out all those beautiful colors and grains.

    Afterall that, a glimpse of the finished article would have been good.

    I was about to comment that this board was too beautiful and to many hours invested to sell, let alone cut any food on. Then I saw your note about it being a wedding gift. Very very nice.

    I like the board. Would have been nice to show a few less seconds of sanding to show the entire board when finished.

    This is MUCH better at 1.5 speed , you don't miss anything and the guitar sounds way better. And always show the finished product (as many have said) for several seconds at the end. Nice board though.

    Great work and great video. Can you elaborate on why you used the melamine board under the cutting board when running through the drum sander around 2:30? Thanks!

    • @pitcairnwoodworking3269
      @pitcairnwoodworking3269  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I use it as a flat reference surface to flatten the board. I hot glue shims under the cutting board and hot glue it to the melamine.

    Why resaw on the band saw when it could have been done better on the circular saw?

    • @pitcairnwoodworking3269
      @pitcairnwoodworking3269  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To save material. With so many thin strips, the kerf on the table saw would waste a lot of wood.

    It would be goodif you would’ve had some speaking in this because most people don’t know how to do this and they don’t realize that what ever you are going to put in you have to take out otherwise the grain of the original cutting board will not match up and you never said anything like that I think music is not right for these videos

  • @maderastudio8493

    I wonder if you have a point to not show the finished product??? 🤔 I get the same satisfaction in watching someone carefully and lovingly make a most wonderful sandwich, or dish (cooking show) and then nobody eats it at the end...... kinda pointless. I’m sure it probably was a nice board. Too bad.

      I was helping my Dad build a house one summer. Across the street another building crew showed up and started putting the floor joists and decking on the basement of a new house. We noticed that this crew, which was composed of three 20 something age guys with ponytails, were cutting all the floor joists and decking with hand saws. When we asked why they weren't cutting the framing material with a circular saw they said, they wanted to build this house "right". My dad and I laughed all day....

    • @edwardcharles9764
      @edwardcharles9764 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well at least they could claim hand crafted if hand tools were used but this cant it's machining!

    • @rafsnale
      @rafsnale 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, its not. He is using the machines, either taking the board to it or using the machine with his hands. Those tools do nothing without the proper use and knowledge of the user. CNC....thats not handcrafted.
