- This vid shows Phase 3 of the work I've done to my Super Glide Custom, including all the Christmas gifts from my Wife and Daughters, and the Vance & HInes Big Radius 2 into 2 Exhaust, along with the Kuryakin High-Five Mach 2 Air Cleaner. A dyno tune after install showed a 12.1 gain in HP. Coming up next is a cam install, which should add another 10-12 HP for a total gain of 22-24 HP over stock, without taking the heads off. Stay tuned for the next video!
Thanks for the vid. Just bought my 2012 Superglide a few weeks ago. Next week I'm having the V&H big radius pipes, forward controls and a sissy bar put on....your vid made me realized that this is just the start....part of the fun of having a Harley !!!
First of all, VERY NICE BIKE. Second, your wife and daughters are showing some class and love for their husband and father. Lucky man brother...very lucky man. God bless you and your family..ride safe.
I gotta say mate , you are a very lucky man to have a wife and two daughters who bought you those presents for Xmas , half ya luck , lol .
I,ve got a 1997 fatboy ( well it was ) now it,s a full custom , doesn,t resemble anything how it was when i bought her 14 yrs ago , but i now just bought a 2011 Super glide custom off a friend and I,ve been thinking of ways to customize her as well , now after seeing your beautiful machine you,ve given me a lot of good ideas , so thankyou . Cheers from down under Australia .
After seeing this video, I have decided to spring for a 2013 Street Bob with the 103 motor and Hard Candy paint. Your bike is so nice..could not stay out of the Harley shop after I saw it..and my wife agrees. Ride safe.
That my friend is show, I just bought a 2013 Super Glide Custom. Feel the tension man what a ride.
Very clean, lean, bike. Gorgeous.
I have a strap on bag from T-Bags that actually works very well, carries everything I need for a 10 day trip including a cover! I had the original seat custom covered, but that's all I did to it. We did a 5,000 mile trip last year to CO, AZ, UT, WY, MT, ND, SD, MN, and WI, never got a sore butt. Bike ran fabulously.
Thanks for the compliment! Good luck with the new bike!
They come with baffles that can be left in place, or removed. Mine were removed. The pipes ARE quite loud when you get on the throttle, but if you apply throttle slowly when taking off, they are not bad. None of my neighbors have complained, and most of them have kids. I am retired, and don't have kids, but my 24 year old Daughter thinks they are just fine.........
Thank You for the compliment, 51Dss-
I do not put a windshield on for trips. If I am going to Colorado, I wear a full face helmet until I get there, then ship it back home and wear the half helmet. I put a shield on the helmet when it rains.
It did increase the rate of acceleration, it is very palpable, and passes really quickly when dropping a gear to pass. I am not sure about the top speed! I've never had the bike over 105 mph, so I don't really know-
Hell yeah, you got a lot of chrome to polish. Again, a great looking bike, I really like it.
Hey Man, thanks for the comments! Yeah, I really like it.
Good luck with the customizing!
-Ray
Thank You VERY MUCH for the nice compliments. Yes, I agree, my Girls are pretty special..... I give them a lot of attention and love.....
You ride safe too, Brother.....
I appreciate your compliment! Yeah, I really like the way it turned out......
Ha! That is hilarious! I Love It!
Actually, I am not a bad-ass biker, I'm a grizzled old biker. Been riding for 37 years, and I'm on my 6th Harley, and it is my 10th motorcycle. Been to 39 states so far, and am going to hit 7 more on a big trip this spring.
Thanks for checking out the vid!
A couple of my friends who are taller than that have ridden this bike and found it quite comfortable. HD also makes a couple seats that would move you a little farther away from the controls. Good luck Bro!
ok your customize of this bike got me going got the pipes, forward controls but added a Roland sands air cleaner and dino tune real happy so far but at the cost I am now hoping for an end to my customizing needs that seem to be endless because of your great job on this bike! I should have just made you an offer and bought yours! hahahahaha great job looks awesome all around impresive!
Those 2-into-2 pipes look so sharp! Ill be getting them on mine as soon as I get it.
Thank You! I appreciate the compliment! Yeah, I really like the way she turned out......
-Ray
AWESOME JOB INSPERATIONAL WORK! I just bought the same bike 2012 and got some great ideas from your work. I will make mine look quite different in many ways but we have the same taste because right out of the gate I added the straight drag bars and riser kit with crome levers and new grips and the pipes are awesome along with the air cleaner COOL LOOKING BIKE GREAT JOB!
Coming from 2016 Harley dyna lowrider owner, You have one heck of nice Harley . very nice
I try to ride smooth and easy on the throttle when I'm in the neighborhood. Although my Wife and I don't have any kids at home anymore, most of the neighbors do. I try to throttle down when I see The Man too! -Haven't had any problems yet.
Thanks for the compliment on the bike-
-Ray
Nice ride dude, couldn't see if you have any black tywraps from the factory. I got rid of the ones I had and replaced them with stainless steel I picked up from Home Depot.
Thank You for the compliment!
Yeah, she's pretty sweet!
Thanks for the great compliment Man!!!!! Yeah, I really like the way the High Five looks, almost as if it was made for the bike!
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid forgot the password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Fernando Xavier instablaster =)
Thank You! -Yeah, I really like the High Five Mach II........... It came out in black and chrome literally a couple weeks before I was ready to buy an air cleaner........ Good Luck!
-Ride Safe.......
-Ray
Hey Steven-
Yes, I added the Screaming Eagle Race Tuner, and had a dyno run done also. The bike runs perfectly, and I'm getting 50 MPG out on the highway.
Yes you can. There are several photos of the windshields in the HD parts and accessories attached to Glides with the turn signals attached to the lower triple tree. Good luck with that!

Hey Oz, how are you doing!
Thanks again for the second comment!
I think it would be awesome to ride in Egypt! Maybe I'll be able to do it someday-
Good luck with your bike.
Ride safe-

They are standard reach forward controls directly from the HD accessory catalog. I am 5'10", with a 32" inseam, and they fit me perfectly. I did have a custom shop move the seating area of the factory seat forward about 2 inches, but that was more for my arms to reach the bars then my legs. The forward contros were fine both before and after I had the seat modified............
Ride Safe too, Bro...........
-Ray
Congrats on the new ride, and thank you for the compliment!
By the way, I really dig your screen name here...........
The chrome is actually no problem as far as cleaning, I just use car wash solution, and the chrome comes clean along with the paint. I use a leaf blower to dry it off, and then just windex if there are any small remaining streaks after that.
Hey Bones, thanks for the comments.
I have had some aftermarket fasteners rust in the past, I guess the stainless is just preventative in nature.
Yes, I'm almost done with the bike! I'm going to have the Fat Bob fender (used to be the Wide Glide fender) installed with the idea of adding bags in the future. That, the fasteners, and the cam upgrade will pretty much finish the project.
Yes, my Wife is awesome, she loves the bike too.
Safe Riding-

Hey Z40, thanks for the compliment! I appreciate it!
-Ray
I have an 11' FXDC also. i have replaced the pipes and mine is black and chrome today but is tooken apart right now to get fresh paint with new color, 16" apes and also all stainless steel braided lines for the lines that can not be run threw the new bars. all together currently after these next portions are completed it has cost myself 3,400.00. I will post a video of the stock look and current look on august 3rd to show progress . nice progress so far on yours looks sharp.
Thank You for the great comment, I Love this bike!
Absolutely fantastic bike keep up the great work
You have a great looking HD. Ride Safe.... have fun!
Yeah, I have always liked the looks of the Super Glide. Thanks for the comment!
Yeah, it IS a never ending process. Good luck with your bike.......... Ride Safe.....
Thanks for the compliment!
Seriously, there is about $11,000.00 all told with parts and labor in the bike right now.
Good luck, Man, it is fun!
-Ray
@eveleupe
Hey Evelupe-
Thank You for the compliments!
Yeah, I Love this thing! It has really come together well-
Stay tuned, I just now bought a Vivid Black Street Glide also, and have begun a similiar customizing project on it-
You ride safe too-
Thank You-
-Ray
@voltronpd
Thanks for the comment. I used the HD Screaming Eagle Race Tuner, and my dealer did the dyno tune. It worked out pretty well, I realized an additional 12 HP by adding the Kuryakin air cleaner, V & H pipes, and the Race Tuner.
Yeah, I like the way they look. Put a vid up as soon as you get your installed!
Thanks for the comments! Yeah, I really like the how the V & H pipes look.
Throw up a vid when you get done with your ride.
Ride safe Bro-
Thanks for the great comment! Says it all in three words!
Beautiful bike man. Nice Additions.
Shawn, thank you, I appreciate it!
Yes, they are Drag Specialties 27 inch wide drag bars set on HD 6 inch risers.
And thanks for the compliment!
Ride Safe-
-Ray
That's a riot! I gotta' try and find that!
Thanks for the compliment!
I don't like the bobbed fender on the WG, the older fender was better looking. The Super Glide Custom had more of the basic parts chromed out to start with too. I think it's just a matter of taste.
Good Luck with making the choice, and thanks for the compliment!
-Ray
Killer bike exactly what I want
Matt, that is the stock Super Glide Custom Seat. I had a local custom upholstery shop reshape the foam, and custom do the cover.
It is called a Warlock pattern.
Good Advice for those interested in mostly the sound!
Thanks......... -Ray
Very nice Sir. Gotta love chrome!!!
Great looking scoot! Good job.
I love your bike its 1 of a kind , the airfilter exhaust ... love it
good luck and ride safe br

@petercumblin
Hey Peter-
As for changing the controls, about 2 hours or so. Not bad, did it to two other bikes before, a Sportster, and a Low Rider-
The V & H are MUCH louder than the Screaming Eagle....... On the order of 3 to 4 times louder. They also need a baffle to prevent backfiring during deceleration. All said and done, I still would prefer the V & H to the Screaming Eagle. I just bought a 2012 Street Glide, added SE Pipes, need more rumble, gonna' add Rinehart Duals!
Very sweet bike.
@sicoz81
Oz! What's shakin' bro!
Yeah, you gotta' show us a vid of your ride!
Hey, I just bought a 2012 Street Glide also, and already have the HD dealer installing a bunch of stuff on it to include the Chrome front end, gold flame Derby, Timer, and Cam cover, chrome clutch and brake control modules, other doo-dads, and a Phase 1 tune with my fave Kuryakin High Five Mach 2 black and chrome air cleaner, SE slip-on mufflers, and a dyno-tune, so stay tuned for a new vid of the new bike!
@Musashininja
Hey Bro-
I do not know if the V & H are louder than S & S, but they are VERY loud. I had the backfiring upon deceleration until I put Hard Kore Baffles in them. Now they are deep, with no backfiring.
Good luck with the S & S!
-Ray
The front end was lowered 1" with the HD kit from the parts and accessories catalog. Thanks for the compliment on the Street Glide too! I have one more phase of accessories to add, and then custom paint. I hope to finish her before late fall, so stay tuned for another vid when she's done!
Ride Safe-
-Ray
I know what you mean! It's not that bad if you use a good quality car wash concentrate that rinses off with no spotting afterward. I use the leaf blower to completely dry the bike after a wash, and have not had to do any real "polishing" of any of the chrome.
Sweet ride. I had those pipes on a 07 Sporty Custom but neighbors and a local cop complained.
@VinnyTheCuz
Thanks for the compliment, Vinny!
I will ask the Girls to include you in their Santa shopping!
Ride Safe-

Those Big radius 2+2 are just sexy! Great looking bike.
Did you ever take that trip to the west or finish with the stainless bolts and nuts, plus cam change? I don't see any of those videos.
Thanks WideAwakeAmerica!
That is the best comment I received on this bike! Ha!
damn dude, that seat looks awesome!
Lionel, thank you. My local upholstery shop did the seat. It is the original factory seat. Yeah, they did a nice job!
Nice bike! Working on getting one myself!
I do not have any trouble getting to the oil filler cap.........
Yes, the V & H are MUCH louder than the S & S pipes. I really go slow on the throttle when I leave the neighborhood, but no one has complained about them either..........
Thank You, I appreciate that, and I am going to check out your vid right now!
Thanks for the comment, short and sweet!
Hey Hector, thank you man...... I have thought about that actually. The guy who did the gold leaf HD script is actually locked up in Will County Jail for a little while right now, but when he gets out, I might have him do that!
Hi, bike looks great. Do you have a part number for the outer primary cover. Thanks
Hi Ray,
Love the look of the V & H's. Just wondering if they are deeper sounding than the S & S pipes? I have the S & S slip on's and they are very loud and when I back off pop all the time. I am buying some ear plugs to use will riding and was thinking I should buy a whole box of them and hand out to the neighbours. Do you have trouble accessing the oil cap at all with these pipes? I am leaving on a trip to the Aust National HOG Rally next week and riding from Sydney to Perth and back.
John
Love the look. I have a 13 model that could use some of the accessories that you have
Hi, may I ask what size risers you have on the bars and what are the bars themselves? Cheers. Damo, UK
Nice bike Drive safely my friend
That's a nice bike man!!
Nice looking bike. Just curious but which tuner did you end up going with for that exhaust/intake set uo?
Hey Damo-
The risers are 6" tall, from the Harley catalog, and the bars are 26" wide from Drag Specialties.
Ride Safe-
-Ray
The pipes do not block the oil cap at all, it is completely clear.
Thank You, appreciate that!
Go ahead and share the vid-
That is the stock tank. But I know some Glides have the speedo attached to the handlebars. In that case, I think a longer speedo cable should do the trick.
Good luck with the conversion!
-Ray
Just wondering..are those drag bars on the bike? Cause I really like the look. Thank you.
You are welcome, and give us a vid when you are done!
Thanks bro for the Video.. Exactly what I want to do..
Including getting a small seat for my Solo local rides, Big Radius pipes and add a Heavy Breather air intake.
Beautiful bike! You mention taking a trip in this video. I have a 2011 Super Glide too. What do you use for luggage on yours? I am thinking about saddlebags but really don't want to relocate the turn signals. Thanks!
Hi Ray....Your bike is an inspiration. I'm doing a lot of the same things to my 2012. Biggest difference is I'm getting a HD cone shaped air cleaner....goin for the solo seat...and adding Willy G accessories where I can. But I'm adding a lot of the same parts that you have. Question....how do you set your bike up for long tours??? I don't think I want to take mine on long trips....maybe I'll get a road glide for that
re: the next to last post. i built and raced yamaha 2 strokes and my last rd was calculated at 66 hp. the crank was not welded,it was pressed together, if you stay within rpm limits and dont feel the need to do burnouts( i still dont understand the compulsion to do this)a pressed crank is more than adequate and i like my lowrider, but the rd yamaha would eat most harleys alive
@nazdet1
I don't know the answer to that. If the Screaming Eagle and Kuryakin both flow about the same amount of air, and you had a remap with the SE air cleaner, maybe you would not have to have another remap. I would ask your dealer or mechanic. Good luck with the Kuryakin!
-Ray
The Gold Harley Davidson emblem on the tank really makes the bike shine. Have you thought about replacing the silver striping with Gold instead?
Thanks James, I appreciate it!
Ride Safe Man.....
-Ray
I love the look of you front turn signals on the tree, I have a Street Glide as well and I use a quick release windshield when the temps are in the 40's. Can you use a quick release windshield with the signals on the tree?
I've got a new to me 2008 lowrider and this is exactly the way I want it to look. Do you happen to recall the T-Bars you used. I'm thinking about going with 10" mini apes. But those bars look great.
Saw the comment bellow
@ruimfsdias My wife will not ride on the bike with the Le Pera seat. It is very skinny width-wise, and quite hard. I purchased the Butty Buddy, and actually put that on the original Harley seat for her. Le Pera has other seats that are probably much more comfortable for the passenger than the silhouette.
Good luck!
Sweet bike!
Sweet lookin scoot, I have a 2002 super glide and I love my bike. I have a question tho, is that the stock tank, reason I ask is I'm putting the same handle bars on my bike and I don't know what to do with the speedometer. Any help would be great. Thanks
Thank You, I appreciate it!
I know what you mean! I'm now on phase II of customizing the new Street Glide. Check out a new vid on that in a couple days or so.....
