John drawing his sword in front of the cavalries charge is one of the most cinematic shots ever filmed in my opinion..
the music is so gripping and epic there and the way its shot is monumental. best in history. hope they outdo it one day, but don't see how its possible.
Stannis did the same earlier.
@@thecockerel86 Stannis' was way cooler. Drawing his sword while knowing he has zero chance of survival. Better music too. The show died with Stannis.
@SkyH23 agreed, the whole shot is amazing, down to the music and everything, one of the reasons this is my favorite scene is cinematography

That's how u can tell that the sequence was executed perfectly.
That long one shot with Jon in the middle of the battle was magnificent, and it gave me the feeling he was somehow being protected
Jon had to ride forward after Rikkon was killed. He was in the kill-zone at that point, which was Ramsey's plan. Can't turn around. Can't ride backwards. Can't stay put. Forwards was his only option.

It's one of them but the one shot of them following him while he's fighting is one of the best masterpieces of Cinema history
Well buckle up, cause next episode is going to be an unforgettable ride, where all the plot points are going to converge, all the puzzle pieces are going to be put together. It might be the most emotional roller coster of a very rare GoT episode where you come out feeling fulfilled. After that, it's all depressing and enraging 😂😂😂

to most this was the best episode, I can see how this would be the worst episode for the nameless lady though, she hates violence and gore!
I just realized for the first time that there are 2 cuts in the longtake.. 7:16 and 7:40. Actually the first one might not be one. Fucking amazing what they were able to do in this ep, as well as 7x4.
Any Thenn seeing the burning flayed corpses: "I don't know who these Boltons are, but they're obviously insane, burning those people to a crisp like that. We wouldn't have allowed that nonsense back in the valley. That's nothing but a waste of a good meal right there!"
6:18 I was watching Beastmaster the other day and when **Spoiler** the Beastmaster's adoptive father is about to die, it's the exact same shot (with the mounted horseman charging a lone swordsman). So Miguel Spochnik (the director) I know where you get your ideas! lol
summer child can't handle all the blood and violence.
It's sad how this and the next episode was the peak of what this show could do.
C. Richards also still amazing what they were able to achieve. It is a petty high peak after all. Just because 8 was a letdown doesn’t take away from that.
Nah the peak was season 4 but after that the quality of the show really went downhill....
Considering that these two episodes are some of the greatest episodes in television history, I wouldn't say it was sad. I never thought they'd make a better episode that The Winds of Winter...and they didn't.

it wouldn't have helped him, Rickon's best plan was to get to his brother as quick as he can, which the shortest and most easy distance is a straight line, people always say zig zag but it literally would not have helped him get to Jon any better, he was dead either way, the only thing Rickon could do was run as fast as he could to get to Jon
