Thanks for putting the chapter markers in the video, Shane. Helps a ton with this kind of video, where I'm only interested in some of the content. Gold star!
I would love to see more info on those Trimm bike computers when you get them in hand. I think they're one of the most interesting bike computer makers in the business right now.
Great overview Lama. There are a few vids by the usual suspects going round Euro but yours hit the mark best. It's interesting to see how different manufacturers are drifting into new product ranges like head units, group-sets, trainers etc. It all bodes for an interesting 12 months ahead in which cycling consumers will be awash with product choices as opposed to the exclusive product suppliers in the past. Just wish a mobile enabled headunit was a happening thing. I am sure it's an easy thing. It just needs the big phone companies to shift in that direction, instead of building their own proprietary health apps
That Tron looking smart bike looks awesome. If you could control the ring light change the colors/on/off/ pattern that would be enough for me to make purchase haha.
I bought my first xcadey unit based on your review Shane ! From the direto xr the difference in accuracy was noticeable ! Then i bought the next model of them and still the difference was enough ! But the second model can be adjusted +/- so i trimmed the powermeter to the direto xr ! I do have a magene head unit the 406 pro and i am very happy with it ! The only problem is the glare you have to angle it correctly ! Also, wireless gears?Nice ! Keep up the good work Shane :) !
Just FYI, Campagnolo were not exhibiting at Eurobike. The small section you were in was from a distributor. They have a range of brands which they distribute and brought a small selection of products from each brand to the show, including some items from Campagnolo.
A bike computer popped up in the Bike news feeds yesterday going to be competition with the Garmin it's a weird shape looks like a door stop, Absolute cycling
Reacting to your comment about the D-Fly controlled light: Perhaps a video about how to setup D-Fly buttons to control an ANT+ light connected to a head unit could be welcome. I have my Garmin Varia RTL510 connected as a light to my Edge 530 and I like to keep it in automatic setting most of the time (it automatically switches between flashing during the day and pulsing between sunset and sunrise) with the ability to occasionaly turn the light off. For the D-Fly function assignment there are two options - one is something like Lights On/Off and the other Lights Mode Change (could be called slightly differently, I don't have my unit in English). However, at least with the light in Automatic mode to begin with, either of those assigned functions is able to switch off the light (swich light network mode to Individual and there to Off), but neither of them seems to switch the light back to its original state.
I use the exact same magic shine light with controller it's certainly not new! Came out last year! Also reviews on here of them from months ago but they are very very good front lights paired with the seemee 300 great cheaper system
The Navihood thingy looks rad to be a "mid-level" head unit imho. Seems to have a great ui. And they have replaceable back tabs? That's something Garmin, Wahoo and Hammerhead should take note about. I wish my Wahoo had replaceable aluminium back tabs.
can you give some light whats with geoid and magene? they basically sell the same stuff just with their own logo, just that geoid sells it cheaper. geoid even sell magene stuff.
I can never get a real answer from Garmin regarding my computers. I have an epix gen2 watch and edge 540 and edge 830. they all show different info after my rides. My wife uses the edge 540 and I use the epix gen 2 and edge 830. Sometimes is a dramatic difference in feet climbed and miles ridden. I just think their stuff isn't that accurate but they won't admit it
@@gplama well, I just tried today and it is not 100% compatible. The pedal wont turn around. But if you remove one of the two bearings sitting next to each other, it works. But I guess that is not a viable solution..?
I have to second the fast walk comment. A couple seconds is ok, this was much too long and I nearly ended watching the video just to keep from throwing up
Lived in China, had several Magene power meters between 2019ish - 2021. Unreliable, not accurate, high fluctuation in quality (first one was ok, all others were just crap). Price is tempting, but not worth to buy it.
@@gplama however, this experience got them off my list of potential suppliers. There are enough options of reliable power meters with good quality standards. Why should I finance a company by buying its products until it might come to a normal standard.
The P505 test results were good. Their ‘base’ model even exceeded my expectations. I respect your hesitation to buy from a company who you’ve had a poor experience with in the past.
I can only assume you're pissed off I referred to them as lower end units? They are. Or that I don't typically cover low end/entry bike computers. I don't. I'm more than capable of snide and snobbery - This wasn't it. Not even close.
@@gplama Pissed Off? NO! Taken aback? YES! ......"that I don't typically cover low end/entry bike computers." You can take it anyway you wish, but that's I perceived it. Otherwise, as a subscriber, I would not have commented.
My statement is absolutely correct. You don’t see reviews for low end Lyzene, CatEye, most of the Sigma range, etc on here. That’s honesty, not mockery. I could have walked straight by the Navihood stand and not even bothered with them - now that could be called snobbery. I guess it’s disappointing to read that when I attempt to cover something at the lower technical level, I’m called out like this.
Loved the fast walking scene. Very cool way to get a feel of what it's like to be at Eurobike.

Another day of good EB coverage, thanks.
Just got the Magene Power Meter with the Chainrings. Excited to test it out.
Ahhh, I was hoping for Magene power pedals
I think I need to get myself to one of these. Thanks for the sneak peeks and advance view😁👍🏾

It's Sigma Sport (German bike computer manufacturer) btw, not Sigma Sports (British bicycle retailer). Confusing I know...
Oh… yes. Confusing.
Not to be confused with Signa Sports, who owned Wiggle
@@philadams9254 Or Ciga Sports, that make watches.😆
Hope those magicshine di2 controls come to ny existing light i have. I think thats a great idea and looked better than ant+ light control

Surprising they're not here. They've had three launches this year already (iirc?).
Would love to see a company combine a bike computer with gps tracker like the SPOT. That would be perfect for ultra distance racing.

That Revolt is the ‘old’ one. With external brake hoses.

Replaceable tabs, yes.
yes, it is also with aluminum alloy material, not plastics. so much more powerful than the traditional material. it is break-proof design.
Guess the hint with the Revolt is Sram 13 speed which is UDH only. Indeed odd not to be UDH for a gravel bike in 2024.
can you give some light whats with geoid and magene? they basically sell the same stuff just with their own logo, just that geoid sells it cheaper. geoid even sell magene stuff.
I know it's not your thing but could you consider reviewing city scooters...they are getting pretty popular in the cities on the East Coast
I wouldn't be able to justify the time for the extremely small amount of views that content would receive here.
Hoping to see an update to Garmin rear camera / radar units soon.
7:55 “A couple of weeks time” - there’s your timeline for official announcement on the 13 speed SRAM XPLR seen at Unbound
Purely speculation. It was at Unbound… and leaked more than the Titan submersible, so it HAS to be only weeks off.
When will Magicshine fix the plastic go pro stile mount breaking on the evo1700?
Any word from magene or xcadey about gravel chain ring compatible power meters?
Nope

AHH Shane you're to chatty, lol
for when the new version oa the Assioma road pedals with the same tech that they have on the MX pedals ?
No word yet.
I seem to remeber you mentioned cycplus power pedals on a video from last years Eurobike. Any news on that? Or vapourware ?
Vapour….
I ride Time ATAC XC, so I arch an eyebrow when I hear "all cleat types".
No update on the Magene powermeter pedals? P715 i think?
Nothing yet.
any news when Cycplus will release the radar?
Soon I hope. No firm date.
But… can the Xpedo SPD-SL bodies be put on the Assioma Duos?
That’s exactly what I want to find out!
@@gplama Did you receive the Soniks yet? I would love to find out if the bodies are compatible with the DUO's. And the Soniks are in stock at bike24🤞

I’m here looking for interesting things. I’ll see what I can find today….
#pelotonsux
whats up with UDH?? is shimano making their own standard? giant themselves?
If they do, it’ll need to be UDH compatible.
Shimano already did. The current derailleurs already have their own direct mount.
Is Wahoo not at Eurobike?
Not officially
Sooooo... what'd you break this time?
Nothing much…. A reset fixed it. 😂🤷🏻♂️
Any new bike radars?
Well... kind of. It's complicated. It also involves Cycplus, again. 🫠
it's been a long, long time but why do we still not have cheap(er) alternative power meter pedals. magene, xcadey give it to us faster!!!!
Because the they are difficult to get right. And to provide quality support.
Where is IGPSport?
Hall 11.1 A06
IMO, I hope Shimano either don't bother to add power to GRX or their MTB groups, or else that they move heaven and earth to fix their PMs.
If they were to acquire SRM or Power2Max they’d have all their power issues finally resolved and power across road/gravel/mtb.
Power meter review what's new
Not much. No new power meters launched at Eurobike 2024.
@@gplama thanks boss we love your work thanks you for all that you do:)
Any launch date or pricing for the magene groupset?
Nothing…. I’ll ask Magene HQ.
