    OMG this is such a great video! I barely leave comment under videos, but I have to say this is the best tutorial video ever! It's so much more useful than the ones keep talking repeated stuff for 10mins but never actually play the violin. Wish you the best!

    Thank you, this is also the foundation for playing the piano. So when the piano meets the orchestra the music sounds great. Melody, harmony and rhythm brought together for Mozart's piano concerto no. 23. In all 3 sections of Allegro, andante and allegro assai.

    There is a piano version of that in the Yamaha 50 Classical Masterpieces book. But it has been arranged in C major.

    Question I have is about bow pressure... I am self taught, and I haven't found in any videos... I found when I first started, I would always place too much pressure on the bow, causing the squeaks. What I found one day while playing along with your videos, was I had to let up on the bow pressure. It's just barely a touch, in comparison to how I was first playing. Does that seem right?

    • @measurebymeasure3605
      @measurebymeasure3605  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes that seems absolutely perfect, the grip on your bow has to be very lose and relaxed as well. As if somebody were to bump you, you'd drop the bow.

    Adult beginner here: I never get the tones sound normal in the first and second position even though I got a marking tape on my violin. I then tried to get the tone slightly above or under the marking, but nothing seems to work. Any advise?

    • @measurebymeasure3605
      @measurebymeasure3605  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      marking tape is not 100% reliable, it's more of a guide. The tonality can be affected in many ways, the most common being the amount of humidity in the air, or the positioning of your bridge.
      The best way to get a good grasp and play in tune is to trust your ears more than anything else. If it sounds wrong it probably is.
      Have a luthier reposition those tapes, it's not exactly the same for every violin.
