Going on the Reflection in January. I think you'd love the Apex and lve been on her twice. The elEquinox and Eclipse are two more I've been on. Love the relaxing vibe of Celebrity and the service is wonderful! A bar in the huge buffet and the Solarium won me over! Also turn down service.
We stayed on board when we visited Nassau the last time. The ship is less crowded and peaceful. Nice vlog, very informative! Thanks. We sail on the Reflection in November, but we don’t stop in Nassau. 😁
@@HappilyEverAft 5 night cruise. Ft. Lauderdale, Key West, Bimini, day at sea, Coco Key. We booked really early and got the Concierge class for $10 more than standard for the entire cruise.
You will love the Edge class ships! Glad you had a great time on Celebrity. We’ve sailed on Celebrity 27 times. Prefer smaller ships to Royals’s mega ships.
@@HappilyEverAft They're not much bigger. They're just different. In fact, if you don't sail in a suite, they have about the same amount of space for most passengers.
@@HappilyEverAft I just want to point out that the Edge ships don't have all the spaces that the Solstice ships have. You only took a short cruise on the Reflection so I don't know how much you used any of those spaces and each cruiser varies in how much they value such spaces. But some design differences are the Martini Bar is relocated and feels totally different (no ice top on the Edge). The whole foyer/plaza feels different. The theater is way more high-tech and immersive on the Edge ships. The Eden area has a restaurant and a space for performances but the seating to see them gets tricky. There is no Sky Lounge on the Edge. Also no library or Murano or Ensembles Lounge. The Sunset Bar is much expanded and especially on the Ascent and Beyond. The buffet area is two decks high and feels open and is definitely better on the Edge ships. The Edge emphasizes the "Central hub" space and either you love it or it gets annoying with the amount of activity there. Some of the specialty restaurants are located right above it so you hear the sounds while you dine. They're not that way on the Solstice class ships. Eden has its own vibe that changes from day to night and that's not on the other classes. The big thing with me is I feel the Edge is a "class" ship since the whole front end of it is reserved for suite passengers. They also get priority in the theater and other areas. So, the Edge doesn't feel huge or bigger than the Reflection and the Reflection has more intimate private spaces to go to. But the ambiance in the spaces is more lively on the Edge ships and just quite different. I like the Solstice ships. As for Royal, I wish Celebrity had a Boleros and Schooners and I wish they had an Irish pub (like Princess or a British pub). I like clubby feeling spaces opposed to open, lobby feel and you get a lot of that on the Edge ships. Just, the size thing isn't what is noticeable vs. the layout, look/feel. The Solstice feels far darker and more traditional while the Edge is lighter and "trendy." I guess I have to mention the Edge ships infinite verandas that some love and some hate. I just don't care that much about staterooms but most cruisers do. Those are very polarizing.
Wow! Thank you so much for all of this great information! We have booked Celebrity Beyond and Silhouette for 2025 which we are excited to get more of a feel for Celebrity. 😊
Another great video, Greg and Tracey! I've been following your adventures for a few months and just recently subscribed. We are going on our first cruise this November on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas with my siblings and their family to celebrate our impending retirement and we are really looking forward to it. All of your videos are helping us get ready! 🙂
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! What a great way to celebrate your upcoming retirement!! Congrats!!! 🎉 Freedom is a great ship for a first cruise and could be just the beginning to how you spend your retirement time! 😂
Enjoyed your video. I’m doing a back to back on Celebrity Reflection in October-3 night+4 night. Love the coffee, coffee, coffee. My husband and I are big coffee drinkers too. That prime rib looked amazing! We are not elite, but will have a drink package the first leg and have an Aqua room the second leg (looking forward to the Persian Garden and I love the ice room, lol)
You mentioned not having the dessert menu posted. Our cruise is 40 days away, but when I went on the Celebrity app, I found all the menus for each night posted. The dessert menu is always posted first and then the rest of the menu. Hope this helps someone.
I love Celebrity. I have cruised other cruise-lines. You were on an old ship on a short cruise. Cruise one of the newer ships the serve and food are usually excellent..
That ship isn't that old. It's 6 years older than the Edge and it's the newest of the Solstice class ships. The old ships are the Millennium class and two of them have been totally refurbished in most key areas.
We are going on this ship the week of October 21st this year. Our first time on Celebrity and I can't wait, because we are traveling with another couple.
Greg and I discussed this last night and we feel each won in different areas but overall a draw. We need to go on a longer Celebrity cruise to really give you a real definitive answer. Scrambled eggs were better on Royal, Cheesecake better on Celebrity, dinner rolls better on Royal, gelato and ice cream flavors win for Celebrity....
Going on reflection in October love your videos can't wait to watch the others. Def my kind of cruise people!!!!!
Thank you so much for watching! Reflection is a great ship!

Reflection has opened our minds to Celebrity and we plan on sailing again next year hopefully on an Edge class ship.
@@HappilyEverAft Why Edge class? I'm just interested. Edge is very different than Reflection. It's almost like a different cruise line in some ways.
We like seeing the differences in each class on Royal so we would like to do the same on Celebrity.
The aqua class gets you spa access, special shower heads, and Blu restaurant access. I did it on the Eclipse. I bid up for $300 for 2 ppl
Great review!

Wow 🤩 27 times!! Reflection was a perfect size for me but Greg does love the large ships so I do see an Edge class ship in our future!

I Walk down to the beach in Nassau. The public beach is great. I go where its boxed in and you can get a couple chairs for $25

Try the Ascent❤️❤️❤️. We are going on the Reflection at the end of the month for b2b2b. Love Celebrity!

Can’t wait to do celebrity out of Athens in October on Celebrity silhouette !
That sounds amazing!! 🤩
? Greg, what did you have on your prime rib the last night? It LOOKED GOOD!
Greg thinks it was more gravy from the mashed potatoes that they put on it! 😋
Which cruise line has better food - Royal or Celebrity?
