    Wow! I have watched a lot of how-to videos. This is excellent. I so appreciate the detailed explanation you give of each step of the process. And your camera work actually allows the viewer to really see clearly what you are doing. Thank you so much! Beautiful workmanship too. Much appreciated.

    10:20. I use a stack of playing cards to maintain the gap. Stuff in enough cards to fill the gap one one side, then divide the number of cards in two to get an even gap. No measurements, works well.

    To more experienced cabinet builders, when he measured the height to build the drawer, he went 1/4 from the bottom and 3/4 from the top, could you make the measurement same 1/4 for both top and bottom? Is this standard thing or up to the builders interpretation? Thanks!

    You kind of glossed over the actual hinges you used. Ive never done an inset door and am trying now, but none of the videeos Ive seen show me the actual hinges or what size of them to use, or which ones open all the way vs only part way. Need more info, and with all the stores still closed info is hard to come by.

      I would like to know what hinges he used on the cabinet door. I am a total newbie trying to change a cabinet door into a drop down panel. HELP WITH THE HINGES would be greatly appreciated!

      @@doreenmurray8003 Lucky you I just stumbled upon your comment! These are called Full Inset Partial Wrap Hinges. Still can't find a good instructional of how to install them properly though

    So if you have a 3/4” drawer face, wouldn’t that set 1/8” inside the depth of the face framing? It should be flush with the facing.

    So these are frameless inset? What are the benefits and disadvantages (from construction point of view and the users point of view) over framed inset?

    Very nice video. Two questions: Question 1: What face frame width do you have here? Question 2: Can these SIDE slides be flipped to become BOTTOM slides? Thanks.

    i have some oversize overlay cabinet doors out of plywood. I want to cut them down and convert them into inset cabinets. I plan to paint them. The problem is I have faceframes already installed in the kitchen, so I cannot flip the cabinets. They are installed. Can I still do this?

    Eh, dont want revealed hinges.
    Trying to find soft close hinges that you dont have to install on a 3/4" thick furring strip or panel on the inside of the cabinet

  • @gman831000
    @gman831000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So why did you add 1/8" when drawing you lines toninstall the hardware ? I didnt understand that part. You said you were using 3/4" face but you measured 7/8"....?

    • @garfgo
      @garfgo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because that 1/8 inch allows you to adjust the slide on the drawer just in case the front of the drawer isn't flush. If you install the slide against the drawer front you have no adjustment left in that direction.

    Nice video but you included too much. We came here primarily to learn the inset door install. Keep it simple.
