Oooooo! I love this! Very cool. Thank you for showing those Tamiya weathering powders. I didn't even know those existed. I'll definitely be using those!
Looking awesome Boyd,i have the power loader and a couple of the queen kits i hope to build in the future, look forward to seeing the egg lighted up and the figures for the build.
wow, stunning work boyd, built the alien warrior last year, with a little bit of work it came out looking cool, happy modelling, tim the primered thumb 👍 😆
I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Ricardo Jon I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have this kit and got it commission built up and it's pretty amazing. I have a few other Halcyon kits and I'd like to have all of them eventually. Some of them like the Nostromo are just way out of my price range. Tsukuda Hobby also sold some of them pre-built and painted but those are even harder to find than the original kits.
I have several Halcyon Alien kits built up & they can look great if you put the work into the weathering as you have done. Fun Fact: I studied theatre / film design at the same college Sir Ridley Scott attended & over the years have written several pieces on the design / production of Alien. It’s worth noting the reason why the Space Jockey is two different colours. H.R.Giger (who not only designed multiple elements for the film, but took personal responsibility for painting them) was being rushed to finish working on it. This resulted in the main structure being darker in colour than the Engineer / Pilot, as he was unable to finish painting it.
had this one since it came out cut it out and glued it together, think i may have undercoated it then it got stuck in the cupboard and forgot , same with the dropship and armoured vehicle all by halcyon..nice job of the paint work on yours bud..
It's face huggingly sweet! Awesome work on the paint job Boyd!!!. I wonder what's the difference between Tamiyas metallic weathering powders and woman's makeup?! Did you seal it after you applied it and what did you use?
Great job and love the movie, have a question awhile back got the seaview sound board and is great, thanks, started working on old polar lights Jupiter 2 kit, where can I get the magnetic switch for lights you use , have core light looking for the switch , thanks and keep up the great work
How did you cut the extra model pieces off the actual pieces? Scissors? Cutting Knife? Wish I had seen you do it! Also what color light color did you use for the jockey?
nice job, I've had this model since the original release, problem I've always had with it as with most my vinyl/resin models after a while the pieces start falling off, can't count how many times I've had to reglue the scope on this one, so kinda gave up on resin/vinyl kits, Hot toys has a massive version of the space jockey which I ordered,
I love the Alien franchise, but dont know squat about this particular kit, stumbled upon one in a flea market today at €10 (like 12 bucks) but did not buy it.... did I miss a good opportunity to flip it?
TrekWorks I did not know that can't wait to see all your Alien Builds together if you're planning to show them in your next video. by the way plan on painting my Star Trek models the way you do I've seen the video you did on how you paint yours 1/350 scale TOS ENTERPRISE Builds and thought I'd give it a try and see how it works out.
It looks great so far. I've always liked the strangeness of the space jockey. It's a shame that Prometheus sort of normalized it. As I watched your vid I was thinking the only thing it needs now is the 3 explorers to give it that sense of scale, and then you brought them out. Lighting them up is a great idea. I'll keep an eye out for the finished diorama.
Built that in 94. Great kit. Lots of details.
Great kit Boyd! Can't wait to see it with the little figures on!
love the fact that i can watch this as many times as i damn well please and hit the pause button..... well done sir!
Fantastic ! Ace modeller. Looks brilliant. Love your builds, so interesting !
another very cool build Boyd!
Thanks Kenny, I have wanted to get this kit for a long time.

I didn't realize there was a kit for this. Excellent build Boyd. The detail and weathering are
Superb!

Great work Boyd as usual another masterpiece
Great job as always Boyd...
I'd heard a lot about the Tamiya product-- must try. And... nicely applied-- inspiring to think of lighting those mini figures.
The Tamiya weathering kit works fantastic. So easy to control and the effect is super realistic. I can see using it a lot in the future.
Superb!
Your doing a nice job on this one mate!!

Nice . got one of these when they first came out. still in the box as never got round to building it. Also got the queen model as well.
Cool, I see that the Queen kit has been recast and it is available for pretty cheap on ebay so I'll probably grab one.

Yes I did seal it with regular Testor's dull coat.
Great job and love the movie, have a question awhile back got the seaview sound board and is great, thanks, started working on old polar lights Jupiter 2 kit, where can I get the magnetic switch for lights you use , have core light looking for the switch , thanks and keep up the great work

WarlockCore I had that problem as well. I had a few of these kits when I was younger. E poxy resin & a hair dryer.
Steven Holt lol, I'll have to give that a try , thanks 🖖
I use CA glue on all the vinyl model kits I build. No problems at all with bonding. Use that and it's on there permanently.
TrekWorks thanks, I'll have to look for that, where do you get that?
At hobby lobby or any hobby shop. They may even have it at hardware stores.
I love the Alien franchise, but dont know squat about this particular kit, stumbled upon one in a flea market today at €10 (like 12 bucks) but did not buy it.... did I miss a good opportunity to flip it?
H.R Gieger derelict? That's not a telescope.😳lol, at the end those are lips.🙂Hans was a real character. Look closer. 😂😂😂
2 questions Boyd are you going to build a model of the Alien from the film I find it on eBay sometimes and when's your next live show ?
I built the MPC Xenomorph ALIEn kit awhile back. He'll look good on display with the other Alien kit's I'm building.
TrekWorks I did not know that can't wait to see all your Alien Builds together if you're planning to show them in your next video.

Nice
Wasn’t the instrument in front of alien a way to drive the craft in movie ?

Are you just doing the models from the Alien movie or are you going to do all the Alien movies
와우~ 꿈의킷트!!

Boss!
Excellent, just incredible Boyd!!
