i just rented one with a v6...i was very impressed..i needed it to haul some large items...drove it about 1200 miles...24mpg on interstate..excellent and quiet ride..loved the large nav screen..but no cd player....large knobs very easy to use..way to go dodge..
Cooley does excellent car reviews. He oughta be on the networks doing this stuff where more people can benefit from is expertise. Maybe PBS' Motorweek?
It's funny... when his videos first went on youtube, people crapped on him. He definitely grows on you, which isn't a great trait for TV with flakey flip-through viewers.
Just picked up my 2015 Durango Citadel AWD V6. Best 3rd row luxury SUV for under $50k. Dodge dealers are selling them almost $5-7 grand under MSRP since this is the last model year.
nathaniel sherron I believe Dodge considers the top of the line Citadel AWD with all the available options included, as a "near" luxury SUV. Regardless, it still has a premium feel to it. I realize it doesn't compete with an $80,000 Infiniti, Mercedes, Audi, or Lexus if that makes you feel better. Thanks for attempting to steal my joy however.
BlitzzGames Should've done your research....lol. Seriously though, I knew that ahead of time so it wasn't an issue for me. I got a great deal since dealers are now knocking $6k to $8k off the sticker price with a trade-in as well. I paid $40k for my loaded AWD V6 Durango Citadel. Parts won't be an issue down the line since the Grand Cherokee is identical mechanically. I'm glad not to see 20 other Durango's a day on the road like some other cars. The Citadel definitely gets second looks from other drivers.
J High I didn't know :( Durango(s) are rare where I live (somewhere in Asia) and the Explorer is definitely the more common car here. The Explorer used to turn heads but now the Durango's rear lights (sexy!) break necks lol. Anyways here it takes a year or two for a brand new model to arrive. We don't have the all-new Explorer yet. Hopefully Dodge takes their time :p
I had my eye on the acadia Denali but although it's a nice suv I felt like it had a little to much luxury for my taste, but this durango looks amazing and has that sporting look
To use the yelp app via voice, you have to tap the voice button on the screen while on yelp, not the steering wheel voice button, that's why it never worked.
It's a nice car to drive, easy, and as he said isolated. I haven't had issues with tippyness however it's sister (grand cherokee) has failed the moose test (swerve) before and nearly rolled so it doesn't surprise me. The UConnect system is fairly buggy and sometimes likes to turn on the radio for me or just not allow me to play music over bluetooth. It's one weird system but it works for the most part
MPG on this awd Hemi is 14/22. The rwd Pentastar is rated 18/25. If Yodge (soft D) would offer the Durango RT with the new Ecodiesel, that'd be something.
@4:15 Oh the agony! I've been there. Imagine it would be ALOT worse if you were driving because of ambient noise. This is the modern day version of those cheap clocks they put into cars in the 70's. Very few worked. None that I know of.
I LOVE my Durango, there are a couple things that bother me though. First, there's no way to check the transmission fluid in the engine bay, second that knob to change gears is annoying! I wish they would've put the shifter from the Challenger in it's place. Third, the rear view mirror feels too small for the size of the vehicle and it creates a lot of blind sports. I bought a longer mirror at an auto parts store and it made a hell of a difference. Fourth, the steering wheel, although nice looking and feels nice to the touch it feels a tad small for a truck. They are trying to make it feel like a sports car when it's an SUV, not cool Dodge! Finally, I have the 2wd version and in the winter the rear slips out a lot! I wish I would have bought the AWD version because of this and Dodge really needs to do something about the traction control on this car 2wd version because it sucks. I just wish they made an offroad version that sits higher with the V8 and A/T tires. This would make this truck so much better.
