I've had the '15 Durango RT for two years and have had zero problems, except for a turn signal that went out. Mine has a sunroof and all wheel drive. It will do some light off-roading also. It's the best vehicle I've ever owned. It's so comfortable and handles great. I highly recommend!

@@collinkasten1876 thanks man. They seem to run a little less expensive than the Grand Cherokee too which is damn near the exact same car.
I was sold about 5 minutes into a test drive. Great value versus other SUVs with good towing capacity.
So long story short the wife loved doing a long 6 hour road trip in my Challenger over her Ford Edge and when we borrowed a friends older 2008 Durango, she loved the 3rd row and also long drive comfort. That has lead us to comparing the latest Explorer against the latest Durango. Wondering if you'll ever do a comparison video?
now I can punish my kids with just the push of a button and the headrest pops in the head

i was a hard core japanese car person…..to me there was nothing better than toyota or honda…..until, my gorgeus, wife, pushed me into change….i test drove all the 3row mid size SUV's. Durango was my option, still hesitating because of american cars reputation. but its been almost 1 1/2 with my durango, and i've had ZERO problems, solid as a rock, and looks that make the japanese cars, pee there drain plugs. I 100% satisfied with Durango. Great SUV

hi there...yes i had my durango almost 4 years now, and no problems at all. just took a 1400 round trip and trust me when i say, the car was LOADED....4 adults 2 kids, a TON of stuff inside, and a THULE box on top loaded with about 120 pounds....did crazy mountain high roads and also extreme hot weather, and the Durango was flawless. i really think Chrysler did a good job in this SUV.
@@8000RPMS how was your gas mileage on the trip? Do you have the RT? I have in my head that the V8 hemi can do better than the V6 in gas mileage on the highway.
@@waynem7395 YES RT MODEL....I WAS SURPRISED I WAS GETTING 20-22 IN THE HIGHWAY. THEN I STARTED HAMMERING IT...IT DROPPED TO 18ISH MPH ON THE HIGHWAY

I LOVE my Durango, there are a couple things that bother me though. First, there's no way to check the transmission fluid in the engine bay, second that knob to change gears is annoying! I wish they would've put the shifter from the Challenger in it's place. Third, the rear view mirror feels too small for the size of the vehicle and it creates a lot of blind sports. I bought a longer mirror at an auto parts store and it made a hell of a difference. Fourth, the steering wheel, although nice looking and feels nice to the touch it feels a tad small for a truck. They are trying to make it feel like a sports car when it's an SUV, not cool Dodge! Finally, I have the 2wd version and in the winter the rear slips out a lot! I wish I would have bought the AWD version because of this and Dodge really needs to do something about the traction control on this car 2wd version because it sucks. I just wish they made an offroad version that sits higher with the V8 and A/T tires. This would make this truck so much better.
The Citadel and SXT sit about a half inch higher than the GT and RT. In the grand scheme of things, all wheel drive is only fractionally more expensive, like a thousand or two at the most, so at $40-50k that's not going to change your payments all that much really. Looks like your comment was 6 that's ago, so you probably don't have that truck anymore, but if you still do, it probably came with the Goodyear forterta, which explains it, but I recommend replacing them with the best continental high performance all season you can get. You'll be blown away; you may not even need AWD at that point unless it's REALLY snowy or icy where you are regularly.

I do not like that remote gear change. It was a deal breaker. Guess I'll look more into the Tahoe now
They should make a version with small the power but little of the fancy interior. Knock 20 grand off and I'm all in.

I admit dodge had some cool features and options to make their cars look modified but their reliably and gas mileage in this thing is awful!

I agree, I really like the look and features of the V8 Duragos, but dodge is always at the bottom of the list in terms of reliability.
Before 3yr. or 36K is up be sure to shop online for a Dodge Manufacture warranty. Dump it right before it hits 100K miles. I owned Chrysler's and Dodge's and currently have a Dodge & I am well aware of the money pit tendencies.

Consumer Reports had the Durango as one of the few (maybe only) Chrysler vehicle(s) that was on the recommended list.

PLEASE!!!!! STAY AWAY from this vehicle, I loved the bad ass look and the spaciousness of my new 2015 Dodge Durango. however I haven't had this car even 4 months and I am already on a 4th check engine light and 5th visit to the dealer and Chrysler is giving me the run around. the car looks bad ass but unfortunately is a Lemon. STAY AWAY

I need the Durango R/T in my life
I got an 2015 R/T (Black) loaded with a moon roof, the DVD player has never be turn on!.
Before i left the dealer with it, I put down the 3rd row seats.....5 years later, their still down.
1 week after I got this, I had all the windows blacked out..and put 7" black star on the backs and rear windows,
you wouldn't believe how many drivers slam on the brakes thinking I'm a cop...LOL
As of today, 4/03.2021, less then 35k miles on her.
She going up for sale soon, as I am retiring and moving abroad.
Kids! Knock it off in the 3rd row. That's it , release the headrests.

We purchased a used 2017 R/T AWD a few months ago.... amazing, just amazing! The only design issue so far, as all cars have them, is the brakes. My front rotors were replaced when we bought it, courtesy of dealer. 10k miles later and they are warped again... def need brembo brakes update. The Durango is amazing. If you don’t want to spend this much... get the v6, it’s a very capable engine with hp close to the hemi and better mpg! Dodge did good on this ride!
My friend has one put 332k miles still strong just regular maintenance it still has same factory shocks
I have a 2012, love it to pieces. Can't wait to see what comes out when I'm ready to get an upgrade. This is just gorgeous for sure!
Best review of the Durango I've seen yet - thanks! Am definitely getting the R/T (even though I don't "need" it). The only thing I've noticed that's kind of weird in looking at all the local car dealer stock is I hardly ever see sunroofs on the R/T models.

So happy I ended up getting the R/T. White with the blacktop package looks sick. Only thing I question is why doesn't the Durango I have come with the DVD players. Literally everything on this video is the same except for that. But again, I couldn't be happier!
We got ours just 2 weeks ago. What a great vehicle! So comfortable, so much torque... it really pulls! We did make sure to get ours with the rear entertainment system and it's awesome but the BluRay player takes up a lot of storage space in the center console. If you want it you can still add an aftermarket system...? Enjoy, from a fellow R/T owner! :)

This vehicle has never sold well, but I'm sure it is a much better vehicle than the Ford Explorer. The Explorers seats are too low and are horrible in their lack of support. Feels like a minivan with four doors.

a good programmer should fix that, they did that so you can run 87 octane without spark knock. they used to dumb down the old 5.9l v8 for the very same reason.

I see the exhaust still sounds aweful! The one thing that annoys me about my '14 R/T awd is the stupid ricer sounding exhaust when it shifts gears. It's actually very embarrassing when it shifts. You can hear it in this video but the clip changes very quickly almost covering it up.

Perfect time to buy and RT as now the seats have Mopar logo on it instead and getting blacktop in the new RTs means the mirrors come black too which for me sucks. The older blacktops still had the mirrors be the same color as the car.

It is called "blacktop" not "black top" Two different words with two completely different meanings. Blacktop(one word) = asphalt. You get a lot of black trim elements in an SUV that is meant to stay on-road. If it was actually named black top (two words) then that would signal a literal black top, but Dodge doesn't use that term. It is a separate option called "black painted roof."
