Thank you for hanging in there without AC! Can't imagine a whole summer without it. But I live in a very hot place in California. Love all your work and encouragement as always...!
@@DianeAntoneStudioTake care! I just heard something on the news about the brutal Heatwave in Britain and France ... something about ocean currents and not enough dust in the Sahara? IDK, but be safe. We love ❤️ you.
Diane, I love these bookmark ideas! They are each so unique and happy. I love books and whenever (which is quite often) I loan them to friends and family, I always include a hand painted bookmark for them to keep. Bookmarks are so fun to make and a great way to use up extra pieces of watercolor. I had some skinny strips that I turned into skinny little miniature size bookmarks. They were a hit because not many people expect to see a 3 inch size bookmarks but they were actually really cute with a little rustic ribbon that I added at the top. I love all three and will try them all. The landscape with the church is a great idea.
I read this comment without seeing the name at top, and I knew before I finished reading it that it was from you Carolyn!!!!! You have the best ideas! Sending love xxx
@@DianeAntoneStudio Thank you Diane. Coming from you, that means a lot :) I love your style so I hope one day you do a tutorial on little scrap pieces of bookmarks because I know yours will have that one and only, unique Diane Antone flair!
Omgoodness...love watching you....and today you were really making me giggle .....cheered me up...always look forward to seeing everything you put out for us ....👍🎨🌞
Seasonal weather here in south central Montana with thunder storms, some wind and moderate temperature Flowers and weeds are loving it. Apples are growing well as are strawberries, buffalo berries, and rhubarb. Grest westher for baking pies...nope. Bought more plants to set out. You are my favorite get away for giggles and great watercolor projects. Thanks.
That you can work so fast and make the pictures look so well makes me very green with jealousy!!! I really like your ink and wash technique! Sorry the air conditioning is broken. Hope the one in the house is infallible!!! Thank you for soldiering on in the heat! We can relate in Texas, for sure.
That was a nice subject today. I enjoyed the simplicity and I love that you just get on with the job at hand. I hope you can get your AC fixed before September! That can be brutal trying to focus on the heat. Have a blessed day!
So sorry about your air conditioner being out! Tamsin can do anything so I bet she could do that too! She’s probably just a bit busy!! Yes, I just went for my walk and even here in dry Colorado it’s a bit hot, I can imagine in your humidity! Maybe a big umbrella outside in the breeze and call it a plein air lesson or into the house you go! Good luck!💕 (We do love to hear all of the nature sounds!)
I can sympathize with you on the heat. It was 105°F here in Texas today and our power went out for 4 hours. Thank goodness it came back on. Thank you for sharing your ideas!
You’re boiling and we’re freezing. The fourth cold front has arrived from the Antarctic with vast amounts of rain. The whole Western Cape is flooded! Line and wash is my favourite…definitely in my comfort zone. I would love to see those miniatures as well. Hope you find a solution to the air conditioner problem.
Those are the cutest bookmarks! I love ink and wash; no matter how simple, it is always charming. I envy your getting the washi tape on so straight. Diane, air-conditioners are so essential for us. The temp is supposed to be 113 today! Incredible. It has been like this for over a week. Holy moly!
I can almost smell the lavender! Oh how I love it. You are so lucky to be able to grow it and paint it. I love the paintings on the bookmarks...you are so skilled at it that you can do it fast before it gets hot! Living where I live, I sure do understand trying to get things done before it gets hot.....it's a race!
My daughter is pretty gifted in the garden department, unlike me! She patiently prunes the lavender each year to get a wonderful display of flowers which go on for weeks. I just paint it!
I like how you make inking look so easy and you are quick, but I like that I wanna be like that I’m working on it and you’re painting is of course beautiful. Thank you.
These are very lovely. So simple but beautiful. Thank you for enduring the heat, hope you can get some relief soon with the weather. Moving into the house seems like a really good idea. The plugged ears are most likely allergies for sure, not sure about a home remedy, possibly some warm sweet oil or light olive oil (just a drop in each ear). My mom always did that for us as kids, I don't know if you can get that where you are. Hope you get some kind of relief soon. Bless you dear one.
I am so happy I found your channel. You make watercolor painting so much less scary and daunting. You are so very inspiring and I love your style of art and teaching. Thank you so much!
If it wasn't past midnight I would paint these now! I'm looking forward to starting my day tomorrow with this project. I hope they turn out well. As always, thank you, Diane for the tutorial. I hope you get some relief from the heat. I'm in Phoenix where the temperature today was 107F. Luckily our air conditioning is in good shape! Susan
These are so lovely! I wish I could work as quickly as you do. If you have a fan, you can cool the air by placing a dishpan (or something like a dishpan) in front of the fan with a block of ice in the pan. The fan blows air past the ice, cooling the air. THAT is how my grandmother cooled down the farmhouse when I was a little girl. It's not as efficient as A/C, but it will help.
I love these! Thank you for hanging in there in your hot studio to post the tutorial. Can’t understand why fixing AC is against the law? Hope it cools off for you!
It’s not exactly against the law, I was exaggerating. Having a repair done to the ac is difficult because my husband installed it (he’s an engineer with many years HVAC experience) but because of that no official company will touch it. And he has had to go away on business for a couple of months. So I’m stuck!
Hello Diane, well, I did it.... my first set of watercolor paintings... not exactly what I was trying to achieve, but not bad either.... the key for me is to paint in daylight, so that I can differentiate the colors... Even in watercolors, blending is not that easy.... have to work at it, the way I do in acrylics and in chalkpaint (in furniture)... it was fun... thank you for the inspiration. Hope your dog is sleeping better and you get a bit more sleep. Thank you.
Painting by daylight is absolutely essential for me too - if you paint at night, you’ll find it looks completely different the next day! Glad you enjoyed it and hope you carry on and do much much more! Thanks so much for sharing❤️

I love these bookmarks. Trees are Meditaranean Cypress (pardon my spelling!) I, too, would love a vid of the different painting for each square. I have done this as well and find it loads of fun. XOXOJANE
I'm still working with the Meeden paints. I realized that getting the paint in color order was too complicated for me, so I left them as they came in the box. My palate only has 18 well so I randomly pulled out Gamboge, Vermillion, Cerulean, phthalo Gr, and Raw Umber. I did a color comparison by putting one color Square in the center of another color Square. I did a test run following along to Niaz Hannan's new video 'Abstract Sunset Scene'. Color mixing is next on my list!

That’s no good. BTW I posted twice about that movie you were trying to get and both posts were apparently removed. You can get it permanently or temporarily at that behemoth monopoly with the name starting with the first letter of the alphabet.
Can you not get a tower fan that will help? I often spritz myself with water periodically while sitting in front of a fan, but air conditioning is always better. Hope you get it fixed soon. I’ll be glad when Fall comes (here in US) !
Hi Daisy, yes, we have several fans, our problem is that the studio only has a metal roof, with not enough insulation to keep the heat out. It’s okay in there until mid afternoon, then it can get very hot. Luckily the heatwave has subsided, and with any luck we won’t have too much of a problem. We just aren’t used to these extreme temperatures where I live. 80s in the summer was the norm. Last year we had many days up in the high 90s or higher. The grass all died and we struggled to feed our sheep - had to reduce the size of the flock. And the repair to the ac is difficult because my husband installed it (he’s an engineer with many years HVAC experience) but because of that no company will touch it. And he has had to go away on business for a couple of months. Probably more information that you need, but that’s the story in a nutshell!

Sorry your posts were removed Karen, it wasn’t me! TH-cam has funny ideas… I’ll look for it online somewhere, thanks for trying!
I knew it wasn’t you! I just mentioned a competitor -
Why is it against the law to repair the AC?
Not entirely true. Just a matter of certification of who fitted it (my husband) meaning that no company can touch it.
Adding Freon to AC is still legal in the States.
Yes, we are not allowed to use freon here. Apparently the alternative is less efficient according to my husband.
