    found this on a forum, might not be complete. Self-Diagnostic Mode - Instrument Cluster
    1. To enter the instrument cluster self-diagnostic mode simultaneously depress and hold the tripmeter reset button then turn the ignition switch to position II or III.
    2. Release the tripmeter reset button when TEST is displayed on the LCD. This will take between 5 and 8 seconds.
    3. The instrument cluster will enter the gauge sweep test.
    4. To navigate to the following tests while in self-diagnostic mode depress the RESET button to move to the next test.
    5. The self-test is deactivated when the ignition is turned to the OFF position.

    #.(Crank sense it the Pos I (Accessory) supply to the cluster. If this is missing then the cluster will remain dead for about 20 seconds after key on. Then it will function normally. This can happen when someone fits a radio and blows the accessory fuse).
    Note:
    Additional tests are available after number #.16 but are not useful for diagnostics.
    Note:
    Later vehicles had a "cost reduced" cluster that had a different Engineering Test Mode layout. These came in about 03-53 reg, and can be distinguished by only the symbol lighting up in the tell tale rather than the whole lot. (LEDs rather than bulbs).
    These clusters used stepper motors for the gauges rather than the air cored ones and did not have a Gauge Sweep test?

    I got it to work but I'm seeing the RPM and Speedo vibrate on 0 for a few seconds and then does the complete full sweep, not sure why it vibrates before it starts...Any thoughts ....Thanks

    What's funny is the bulb test is useless unless you had a picture of what every single light was.
    How would you know which one was out unless it was an obvious 1 not working?
    And they are all LEDs anyways, so how would you even change it when they are soldered to the PC board,(no bulbs)?

    • @TruckStuff1
      @TruckStuff1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, in daylight you can see where there is supposed to be a light on. The test is used to diagnose an issue where a light is not coming on when you're trying to figure out if it's a switch problem, mechanical problem or a bulb. Also, they are not LED, they are bulbs. Which is why it's called a bulb test. And why you need to test the bulbs.

      @skeetermcswagger0U812 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TruckStuff1 Really I don't think you know your stuff, I've taken mine apart and it's ALL LEDs,and mine's only a 2008....
      (It also says 'bulbs' in the sequence)
      I was just joking around but I guess you kind of revealed something that you don't know for once? 🤷‍♂️🥴
