Great deck. One thing that you didn't highlight in your video is that EVERY time that you would copy something, if you have Volrath on the field, for one extra mana you can effectively add Volrath's copy ability and its 7/5 stats to the stack as well, a fantastic value.
If the top card of a mutate stack is a token, the entire stack is considered a token. I straight up started laughing with menace when Progenitor Mimic NEAT move came up... BIG BRAIN!
i agree thats why i dont like mutate but this build seem to have lot of recursion, return to hand stuff and defenses in case things go badly. My friend have a animar mutate deck and it hits like a truck and fast, lot of tricks but yea his biggest enemy are grave pact, plague crafter and those kind of sacrifice effects.
38:15 aside from the weird look he may takes, I think it's highly recommended to avoid mutate on Beast Whisperer if possible, he's already gonna be a kill spell magnet; not need to make it any bigger ;-)
What about something like Temur Sabertooth as another bounce card? It's fairly cheap. Also sweet deck! Since you guys mentioned Scute Swarm, it reminded me to bring up some fun synergies for a certain achievement unlocked deck. Imagine, Warp World into Scute Swarm several lands and cards like Farhaven Elf. I rebuilt my Lord Windgrace Warp World deck recently. Scute Swarm and Terror of the Peaks are insane new cards for the deck.
Sorry I kind of missed the build on this one... Looks at the decklist, oh there's the invisible stalker total nonbo in mutate decks... I'd suggest switching him for mist syndicate naga or azra smokeshaper. But otherwise great deck.
This video inspire me to build this deck, few changes but basically the same idea. I love volrath as a character but the +1+1 counters and all that didnt interest me since i already have a deck like that (Marchesa). Try to keep it cheap, i had a few cards here and there like erratic portal but overall is a simple deck and very budget, nothing fancy. Still waiting for some cards to arrive my god, taking forever. Havent test it yet. hopefully is not that bad lol.
Hey Sean and Andy, I know you guys are fans of the splicer creatures that make golems. Have u considered building Golem tribal? Seems like it can have some fun keyword soup shenanigans. Odric approved YESSH!
I love Volrath, one of my fav characters but the way to build him i dont like it much. +1 counters i already have marchesa the black rose, infect meeeh not a fan of those small creatures. This build seem interesting and more importantly budget. Seems good, unique and fun. I am tempted to build it
Hopefully you can still make enough fun decks to keep playing, and remain excited. We're a budget podcast at heart, so we think it's possible. Sorry this happened to you, and I don't want you to think we're thumbs-upping your situation.
Worth the money to build 10/10
Glad to hear it! We feel the same way!
Cephalid Constable is just another reason worth becoming a target on the field. So fun
I'm really excited for this idea. This allows me to tear apart two other brews I had going to combine into one. Fantastic!
Aha! Streamlining!

Awesome brew guys! This deck looks really fun to play.
It certainly does! Can't wait to try it out IRL! One day.
Am definitely excited to put my own spin to this awesome idea. Thank and your patients.
Cool! Let us know what kind of spin you decide on!

That's the high-light of the deck, IMO
Awesome as always fellas :) At 2:45, what card is the image behind you guys?
That is definitely a mountain from some set, haha not sure where it came from
@@horsekateer Found it mate, it's a panorama of the four Mountains from Champions of Kamigawa. Cheers :)
I've been a little afraid to build a mutate deck because of the potential to just get blown out on board but this looks so fun I might have to try it
We agree completely. The fun ceiling is high enough that it's worth it.

Ooh, Temur Sabretooth is a nice one for sure! And you gotta share a list for that Lord Windgrace deck!!

This makes me want to try a similar build with Riku to quasiduplicate (and copy) big mutate piles.
Ooh, that' s a fun option for sure!

Good swaps!

We are fans of splicers! My brain is still on this deck, so I'm imagining how great it would be to mutate a splicer! Are they humans? I wonder...
Remembering all the stats and condition will be my undoing.
Truly! But probably worth it in the end.

People keep putting Invisible Stalker in mutate decks and I don't understand... it's a human.
I understand how it happens. Hexproof unblockable is such a tempting body!
And it still is a neat body for Volrath.
Unfortunately this event pushed me to sell off my collection and just hang onto a half dozen or so budget decks.

@@CommandersBrew no worries bud! I'm sure I'll get to play at some point in the future
