- Some scenes from riding the Georgetown Loop Railroad on June 9, 2023. The Narrow Gauge line was originally built as a tourist attraction in the 1880's, and ran out of Denver. Enjoying considerable popularity in the first decades of operation, it was eventually shut down in the 1930's with, among other things, the advent of cars. However, the line was resurrected in the 1970's, and has once again become a popular attraction. Starting from the Devil's Gate Station, the ride provides vistas of the surrounding mountainsides and of the waters of Clear Creek below, and reaches Silver Plume before going back. Thanks for watching!
This is just a quick compilation of the clips I casually shot while on this historic sightseeing train route on June 9, 2023. It's a neat little jaunt - enjoy the footage! For my video of climbing the two nearby 14ers Gray's and Torrey's Peaks, which are flanked by mines discussed on this tour, go here: th-cam.com/video/RvewZnEvEkA/w-d-xo.html
Great video
Love the beautiful scenery you captured
That was a nice family outing Lucas!
It was a fun time.
I am a total train nerd! this is awesome!! How much are the tickets?
If I recall, one adult is like $33, so not too bad. There is definitely a lot of train history in the region.
