The only real situation that you would ever need is hunting huge fields where the turkeys can see a good distance into the woods….I’ve called plenty of turkeys off fields by mimicking feeding and lonely hens 50-100 yards off of a field I’d also use a decoy if you’re hunting with a first timer or someone fairly new because it would take the attention off of your calling and onto the decoy.
Good podcast. I would have liked for you to have asked what everyone does when the turkeys are talking, but won’t come all the way. I’ve had this happen so many times. They just stay back. Come a little to you but then go back?
This morning I Heard a hen yelp I called back to her she got aggressive I copied her 2 min later her and 4 hens come to my decoys the tom stayed in woods gobbling wouldn't come out
Great tips can’t wait for some new Turkey content this spring!!
Hunting fall turkeys will really widen your calling horizon. You will hear the wildest turkey calling of your life.
So glad I found this channel tuning from Western Massachusetts!
I noticed that you guys don't use decoys much, in what situations would you find it necessary to use one??
