      No, it's not, it can make you sea sick if you look long enough..

    What's amazing is that despite the urban feel to Torshavn, a 15-20 minute drive will bring you to another world with some of the most unusual, beautiful and barren landscapes on Earth.

    What a beautiful town, so orderly and clean. No litter, trashy houses or busted out windows. I want to live in this magical, peaceful place.

    Thank you for this short walk through Tórshavn! I'm wondering now what time of day this was, as it's hard to tell at this latitude during the summer months. I'd also like to know what day of the week this was.

    Looks very beautiful and laid back. Far better than the bad tempered, car orientated hell hole where I live.

    As someone who plans to move to the Faroe Islands: Which language is better to learn to become integrated into their society - Faroese or Danish?

    • @maunuk6658
      @maunuk6658  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally would choose Faroese, unless I knew that I in the future would spend much time in Denmark. It is imo best to know a bit of the native language, and I'm sure it is the key to full integration and understanding of any culture.

    • @Lemonz1989
      @Lemonz1989 ปีที่แล้ว

      As a Faroese person, I would recommend learning Faroese at first. Everything in the Faroe Islands is conducted in the Faroese language.
      Danish is only a supplement to Faroese and not something you will encounter in any meaningful way in your everyday life. The only place you will see Danish in your everyday life there, is on product packages.
      You can pick up Danish later on if you plan to stay permanently, if you want to. :)

      @@Lemonz1989hello, hope you are good. Can you please give info on which jobs are high in demand there in IT or other sectors and how much one be earning so that he she can live easily there and last thing is online trading legal there. Can we trade and make money there

    • @Lemonz1989
      @Lemonz1989 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@powerball200 Jobs that are always in demand there are jobs in healthcare, especially doctors. IT jobs and jobs in engineering are also in high demand in general, in almost all sectors.
      If you have an income that is close to the median, then you’ll do okay there, especially if you live a bit outside of the main population centers. The median income in 2018 was around 200,000 DKK (~US$29,000).
      Online trading is legal. The only major restriction on what you can do with your money that I’m currently aware of is with regard to gambling (it’s very tightly controlled).

    Lovely and green. The whole area is beautiful. Obviously there aren't any slums in the Faroe Islands. Is there in fact any prisons?

    • @flyingmonsta92
      @flyingmonsta92 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, there aren't, if someone commites a crime, then he's transported to Denmark I believe

    • @TheFrecklish
      @TheFrecklish ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a small prison for minor crimes like selling drugs. If there’s a serious crime like murder (very very rare), they’re sent to Denmark.

    Ein schönes Städchen, Torshavn. 'A cute city center. On that note, whatever happened to the Klaksvik City Center that was planned years ago?

    The camera moved around so fast that it made me dizzy! Slow down!

    • @malcolmspark
      @malcolmspark ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason this happens is that when we are walking and looking, our head is always moving while our ear canal knows which way our head is moving and so tells our brain to make adjustments so it does not look like it does in this video. When we watch the video, our ear canal tells our brain our head is not moving and so makes no adjustments. The maker of this video most likely was not aware of this as he/she was doing the filming, and indeed if they were aware, there is little that can be done about it unless you use special equipment to not have the camera move around left and right and that is not possible with a head mounted camera. I hope this helps.
