    • @juanherrera2672

      Squat less with add a pack because there is less travel with it but also keep in mind the full packs lifts the rear some not much I think your better of contacting CJC or Carli or Thuren on exact specs they have specific info good luck widat but the fulls give a much smoother ride but your gunna need minimum fox or carli shocks to get the full benefit

    A lot of people asking about adding the add-a-pack to F-350s, for some years, Carli says straight up DON'T do it 😢 Then they say you can't do the commuter package unless you get the full leafs... $$$

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To clarify, the add a pack cannot be added to F-350 trucks. Carli also decided to differentiate the Signature Series and Commuter shocks by making the Signature Series shocks tuned for stock leaf packs and add a packs, and then tuning the Commuters around the softer Carli full replacement leaf pack.

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly both brands aren't into comparison videos so we likely won't make one, but Thuren does use a softer rate pack. Carli's is still a whole lot softer than stock, but offers a little more capacity for trucks that still need to tow/haul. In our experience Thuren packs to best on trucks that pretty much only run an empty bed.

      @@CJCOffRoad Either would be good with Timbren or Sumo springs when towing right? Or are they not good towing with these either? I have a set of Timbren’s and it takes about 5 minutes per side to install or uninstall when empty- just two bolts per side. I’d really like a setup that I could drive over cracks in the road/expansion joints(small,sharp bumps) without it feeling like the back of the truck is hopping around. I have stock leafs with Fox 2.0’s. Kind of curious about the difference between Carli and Thuren since they’re both hovering around $1500.

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah exactly! Those are our go to solutions for towing situations and work perfect with either brand leaf pack. If you aren't carrying much in the bed outside of occasional towing, you're good with either brand. Keep in mind too that the difference is small and both are a huge improvement. If you do go with a leaf pack, we highly recommend changing shocks too as Fox 2.0s aren't set up to control a full replacement leaf pack. Carli's backcountry shock package offers a ton of bang for the buck with their custom specs and valving set up for a full leaf pack.

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With a Commuter system you have to run either stock leaf packs or add a packs as that's what the shock length and valving was designed for. That said, you'll get a huge improvement moving to full springs, but that would require going to a Backcountry or higher system.

    What about adding an add a pack to the factory F350 leaf springs for more capacity? (Meaning less squat)

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The add a pack isn't in addition to the factory leaf pack. It replaces the lower most part of the pack to make it more compliant over small bump hits. For decreasing squat under a load, your best bet is to use air bags.

      @@CJCOffRoad bags are too temperamental and compressors go out in our Northern climate, I'm seriously thinking about grabbing these add a packs flipping those lower three inverted leaves on the add a pack so they engage right away, then deleting the factory 1 inch thick overload but leaving the blocks. this should attain approximately the same height seeing as I have supersprings on mine which have increased the ride height considerably

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! It's a higher leaf count of thinner springs, which offers with more compliance with similar capacity. There's more to it than just the number of springs!

    • @adammorris7139
      @adammorris7139 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @CJCOffRoad

      It's slightly better, but not a huge change. Remember you're keeping full capacity so you can't make a physics miracle happen! The Carli full replacement leaf packs are night and day smoother everywhere, but you give up about 10-12% payload capacity.

    I’ve been running full leafs on my 2016 SD w/ Backcountry 4.5”. These springs squeak like no other. Is there a fix for this? It’s quite annoying and sound ghetto as hell. So far I’ve invested in a few cans of silicon spray and each application lasts about 1-1.5 weeks. Is there a fix or something to do?

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The squeaking is sadly a byproduct of having a leaf pack with lots of leaves that is probably getting a lot of dirt exposure and moving/flexing to extremes. Start by jacking the truck up from the frame to droop out the pack so you can hose out any dirt and rocks that are between the leaves. Sometimes that alone does it. Other times we find the source of the squeak is the bushings at either end of the pack, so in that case you have to pull off the pack and grease them well. That maintenance is just part of owning a performance leaf pack!
