The LED ring around the tachometer is not a shift indicator. It simply warns you if the revs get too high, and you can set this level. Same for the speedometer.
Indeed very hard to find, and even the ones you do find come with a catch. Found 2 perfect IS cars but neither of their hardtops were functioning. Then there was one with no issues, but was 1½ hours away. Fortunately I'm a distracted driver and today I FOUND an IS 2012 just 10 minutes away, for sale in a parking lot. Also don't know if the hardtop functions. These cars are definitely unique
I work for a Toyota dealership as a technician, and all that plastic covers up the ridiculous amount or fragile piping and wiring on top of the engine, but on a Lexus, all that gets in the way of things like the airbox and the battery making my job as a tech a lot harder, trust me, the engine bay on a 2012 Camry that uses the same 2GR-FE engine is a lot cleaner because there's less plastic covering everything
my uncle has a 2012 IS350-C, silver with black interior. he's now on his second one. I think it's a great little car, the only downsides are that it's rear wheel drive, the convertible top absorbs the entire trunk space when down, and personally I think it's too low to the ground. Other than that the car's awesome!
I can fit an entire golf bag and tripod in the trunk with room to spare, so long as objects fit from front to back (about a foot and a third) you would be shocked at what you can fit. No other convertible has as much space except soft tops and I don’t consider those competitors to hard tops.
I don't think the quality of cars directly from japan are worse, its mostly the ones that are made for American market only (Tundra, Tacoma, etc) but the cars that come from japan like the prius are still the first name in reliability
I know this comment is old but... To get torque at a lower rpm you'd simply just need to add more power to it I highly doubt theres a chip or a tune that could change the way your powerband works
Hey kyle!!! love you bro no homo!! awesome stuff as always!!! can you maybe do a 2012 Porsche 997 GT2 RS or the 911 Turbo, or maybe the panamera!!! come to foreign cars italia in Greensboro i'm sure they'll let you review some cars
All that plastic around the engine bay is so pointless. I get the engine cover itself, but do we really need black plastic covering EVERYTHING? come on.
does anyone have any suggestions to trade a mazda cx-7 Sport with? i have been looking for those Mustang V6 models. im looking for a car under 20.000 ...
The only thing I hate about Lexus is how they shroud their engines in plastic (exception the LFA). I know the typical Lexus buyer isn't too bothered to look at their engines but still
Burnout823, you're just proving to the public that you have no knowledge about cars, Japan cars are the selling cars in the us and around the world, if you just can't own one doesn't mean that they are out of style. Just saying (gtr r34 and LFA) is enough to understand. Learn before you talk, and talk with facts not with personal taste
I take it you're more experience than I am, but the 2GR-FE is a transverse engine and the Lexus IS uses longitudinal engines. Do you mean 2GR-FSE? And are they mechanically very similar?
Pretty sure they're not going to let some guy review it on TH-cam.. It's such a well known car they know they don't need to do any advertising, and they probably only let people who can afford it look at it.. But hell, if he gets it then I stand corrected lol
Lexus is the best luxury brand! They make impeccable RELIABLE luxury cars. Mercedes, BMW and Audi make nice cars but they are horribly unreliable and expensive to fix. If I'm paying $50,000 plus for a car it better be reliable otherwise I'm an idoit
The original hardtop convertible was produced by Ford in the 1950's.....the first modern hardtop convertible was a limited run Mitsubishi 3000 GT Spyder in 1995, followed by the Mercedes SLK 230 in 1998, 3 years before the Lexus SC430 premiered in 2001.
I can never understand the goofy gate patterns for the at. just straight up and down with an over to right or left for manual shift option should be all u need.
Engine is probably the 2GR-FE. The GR V6 engine family is currently the only V6 engines Toyota makes I think. The 1GR-FE (4.0L V6) is better. That's my opinion
im curious since you work for toyota, do you think their quality has gone downhill over the years or do you think they're still as reliable as they used to be?
Well since you asked how's it goin' I must say that I have the sniffles and chills right now. I got 3 tests coming up soon and I feel like CRAP!!! Your videos do make me feel somewhat better though;)
This has shot up 75% in value in 2021 !!! I just sold my *250c* for $16,000.
How miles on it?
Just about everything have... even a dozen of eggs
Dang 💀
They never really got that cheap
EVERY Lexus either holds it's value insanely well, or appreciates.
the IS350 has a 306HP V6 and can hit 60 in under 5 seconds, plenty of grunt for most people..
Very generous estimate
@@yooooo6296I have one they’re fast
Hey kyle you should do a review on a Mk4 Toyota Supra
could you make a video of how you go up to the dealership and ask to review one of their cars? :D
Audi s5 next please kyle
had the convertible motor go out on my wifes car, had to send it to the dealer to get it fixed and it costed 5 grand.. other than that great car
How is it possible? A Lexus!?!
What the fuck did u do to it?
2013 dodge viper plz!!!
Remember the LX? Oh yeah no one. But it was just a land cruiser with the price tag of a house.
The LED ring around the tachometer is not a shift indicator. It simply warns you if the revs get too high, and you can set this level. Same for the speedometer.
he literally just uploaded this video, its probably still processing the quality.
Thanks for a very indepth look at the car. Thank you for taking the time to give everyone a great all around perspective.
Stop revving it!!
Looks amazing, especially on the interior
Can't stop watching these videos, been watching them all day.
Is there any carbon build issue like the is250 in this car. Planning to buy please advice ?
I would take a Lexus over a Cadillac any day
I’ve found that there’s no shortages of the sedan but I cannot for the life of me find any of the convertibles

I absolutely LOVE my IS250. Thanks so much for this Kyle! Do you miss your ES?

I believe some of the dealerships actually call him! :-)

A luxury Toyota Camry Solar a?
I own a 2015 Lexus GS 350 AWD F Sport however I'm looking into this car to buy it used and have fun in it in summer time.
that was some transformer shit right there 2:50-3:05
I don't think the quality of cars directly from japan are worse, its mostly the ones that are made for American market only (Tundra, Tacoma, etc) but the cars that come from japan like the prius are still the first name in reliability
@1pasiwedi1 that's like calling a Porsche a glorified beetle, or a bugatti a glorified jetta...
I know this video is old... but is there a way to tune or flash this vehicle so that the 277 torque starts up at 1500 rpms instead of 4800?
I know this comment is old but... To get torque at a lower rpm you'd simply just need to add more power to it I highly doubt theres a chip or a tune that could change the way your powerband works
Who else thinks that it don't matter what car he does? Theres just the way he does it that makes it entertaining for one reason or another. :D
Great car . . . . . . . . . Unless you want to go somewhere with suitcase!
Hey kyle!!! love you bro no homo!! awesome stuff as always!!! can you maybe do a 2012 Porsche 997 GT2 RS or the 911 Turbo, or maybe the panamera!!! come to foreign cars italia in Greensboro i'm sure they'll let you review some cars
It's I couldn't care less also it's they're awesome not there - since you have 2004 in your name maybe you're only 8 and don't know any better.
All that plastic around the engine bay is so pointless. I get the engine cover itself, but do we really need black plastic covering EVERYTHING? come on.
can you plz not play the radio music, its cool to talk about the audio quality but pointless to demonstrate it
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMAOO ''IM THE NEW JESUS'' LMAOOOO OH MAN I PEED.. FUCK..-_____-
So this is basically the SC300 lol?
Wow very nice review and car. Lexus are the finest cars on the planet!

Kyle any chance you can do a review on the Hyundai Equus? Thanks your videos are great!
great video as always. could you please do review on Lexus LX 570.
This is such a boring car. Boring exterior, boring interior, boring everything.
Isnt that the direct injection noise? all cars have that rattle nowadays.
I like it more than the BMW 335i convertible
ugh why would someone get the convertible version sedan looks so much better
You are the most amazing narrator
The trunk is disproportionate to the rest of the car!!! Looks odd.
Hi .. can you Rwview the lexus ls460 2013 and lexus es350 2013

THANK YOU KYLE! Never though I would see a IS convertiable indept. Keep the good work up!
THIS CAR SUCKS!!!
When a Bugatti or Koenigsegg? A real car!
Lexus is a joint adventure with Toyota, Its more of a refined version of Toyotas.

I could never buy a Lexus. It would probably bore me to the point of suicide. What an awful car company.

If you press it once, it will only unlock the drivers door. But if you press it twice it will unlock both the drivers door and the passenger doors.

does anyone have any suggestions to trade a mazda cx-7 Sport with? i have been looking for those Mustang V6 models. im looking for a car under 20.000 ...

Definitely something wrong with the engine there. Too much whine.
Am I the only one who notices that this car with a V6 has the same starter as the Toyota I4 (4 cylinders)? Seems kind of odd to me.
I could get into so much trouble with this car 🤷♀️😂😅
@clock959 sorry wrong comment xd

Nine years ago You was idoit,
most likely still are?
Sounds like a toy from a kid

Regardless of all the critics, the Lexus brand recently won awards for the most reliable and highest resale value in its class from kelly's BlueBook.

New Lexus LS please :)
This is a total copy of the BMW 3 series, lexus has resorted to copying also audi, lexus is pathetic
im curious since you work for toyota, do you think their quality has gone downhill over the years or do you think they're still as reliable as they used to be?
sedan is much better looking
Kyle i know that you didnt kno this but today is my birthday and i have been wanting to see this car for the longest now .. thanks so much !
rofl I saw this car today and told myself "damn cant wait till saabkyle04 do a video about it"
I'm the new Jesus
Well, Toyotas are the best cars on the planet, so if Lexus are just rebadged toyotas they must also be the best, don't ya think ?
i'm a big fan of your work,,but i think you forgot to mention those two buttons below the start button..
If I were you, I'd get rid of the prices because a) they differ greatly between dealers and b) because they date your videos.
Im assuming a veyron is hard to find but it would be awesome to see a review on one. I would love to see a Ferrari FF please.
My dream.
So long so little content. Thank Gog for fast forward app.
very ugly speedometer : \
Don't put the raidio on
He already did a video.
Well since you asked how's it goin' I must say that I have the sniffles and chills right now. I got 3 tests coming up soon and I feel like CRAP!!! Your videos do make me feel somewhat better though;)
