    I continue Love your hay videos each year Dennis. Through you I am able to go back to the summers of the 1970's in Duncan and Fuquay Varina NC on my Grandfathers farm. I wish I had a dollar for every bale of hay I've thrown. Covered in hay dust from head to toe, cuts and scratches all over your arms and legs and your hands covered in blisters from that twine. Those were the good old days. A boy had no problem falling asleep by 8 pm each night. Work in the fields all day, and in the evening come in the house to some of the best country home cooking you have ever had in your life. Fresh vegetables, fresh pork and fresh raised black Angus beef. Oh my Lord, my mouth is watering so bad, I'm torturing myself. Lord, I miss my Grannymomma and Pops!!!!!!!!!!!

    Couple of notes from my experience using crop saver- First, that hay probably wasn't quite that wet. When you get to the higher rates of preservative, it can easily add enough moisture to the bale to make the moisture tester read 3-4% higher than it actually is. Second, you should have a few different sets of tips for that applicator to apply different ranges of product. You probably know that, and may have the biggest tip in already, but just in case you didn't think of it! Hay looks great and the little one is growing like a weed!

    Great Job Dennis! If you could find a 12 volt "power on" with the Bailer running, you could install a "relay wiring overlay" to cut the Spray pump on and off with the bailer cutting on and off. Or a "12 volt on" with the tractor moving forward to cut on the sprayer pump. The cost should be around $20 dollars. I recently installed a condenser fan on my Case IH 5240 with the Relay Wiring Overlay. The compressor signals for the relay to switch on, lowering the compressor head pressure which means Cold air even at Idle! Good Luck and Happy Harvesting!

    Sorry I'm just commenting on all of your videos today! I just now realized that you have the Agratronix dual pad moisture tester. How do you like it? And how hard was it to drill the bolt holes for the sensors through the bale chamber walls? I bought one over the winter but have not installed it in my round baler yet. I might try it this weekend.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not hard to drill but finding a good place to put the pads was a pain. It works pretty good not as accurate on round bales but close on square.

    Good video I like seeing haying videos again, wish we would dry out so we could get some done to. When you talk about crop saver is that New Holland’s product or do you use something else? Be neat to what 40% treated hay looks like when the bale gets opened up. I’ve been wanting to build my own system for my baler.

    • @DLHFarms

      @alonzo476 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Framlife351 It's best while their cutting and bailing it but still good a week later. As soon as the guys park their tractors right at dark the coyotes will come from everywhere and lay down around a hay clump in the open field. They'll be inside the wood line watching during the cutting in daylight. I've killed 5 in one very large field this week that's too big to use a "wicked light". Plus we've got them spooked over time around here with lights and can never use the same call after shooting one or two from same pack. The mouse call is king to get them closer in these huge fields. With thermal scopes you can see them come out from everywhere. If using mounted lights best to hunt smaller hay fields. They work great if they've not been hunted much.

    It only rains when you have hay down and it is dry enough to bale, but you can't.
    It does not rain when you can bale but the hay is not quite ready, but you have to bale it just in case.
