  • Proper running technique offers several benefits, including:
Reduced risk of injury: Running with proper form helps to reduce the risk of injury to your muscles, bones, and joints. It can help prevent common injuries such as shin splints, knee pain, and plantar fasciitis.
Increased efficiency: When you run with good form, you use less energy and can cover more distance with less effort. This can help you run faster and longer without getting tired.
Improved posture: Proper running technique helps to improve your posture and alignment, which can help reduce strain on your back and neck.
Better breathing: Running with good form can also improve your breathing by allowing you to take deeper, more efficient breaths.
Enhanced performance: By improving your running technique, you can increase your running speed, endurance, and overall performance.
Reduced muscle soreness: Proper running technique can help to reduce muscle soreness by distributing the workload more evenly across your muscles.
Overall, developing and maintaining proper running technique can help you to become a better, more efficient runner while also reducing your risk of injury.

I'm not much of an endurance athlete. Just the way I'm built and how I perform, I've always been more of a short burst power athlete. Running long distance has been a lifelong challenge for me and I have for years, thought about going to see a physical therapist to correct my running form. Your channel is a godsend, thank you.

I always hated to run. Hated it at the point I start crying as soon as I am running for more than 30 seconds. Always been so painful for me and always thought that maybe there was something I was doing wrong. No teacher ever told me anything to help me. Now I KNOW that I was doing ANYTHING wrong. And you are giving me a hope that maybe I can do it.

This is a great explanation of a run... for beginning athletes and coaches it's important to incorporate proper a, b and anklings in warm up as this sets up all the mechanics of proper running.... for sprinting short distance and run up approa he's add straight legs and fast legs to the warm up.... sprinting mechanics is simply a, b straight leg and fast leg combined. This separates sprint from run.

Thanks so much for your running tips Chari! Do these tips apply to all types of running? I'm interested in distance running, but when i look at sprinters they seem to step their leg out more, instead of having the feet land under their center of gravity. Is this correct or does it just seem that way because they're running faster?
