I have a 2019 Vnl 860 and according to this video all I’m missing is the Globetrotter XL stickers except my gear shift is a panel up under the radio which I think is wayyyy better than the clonky gear shift on the side of the seat otherwise same exact truck.

I strongly disagree!! No Volvo, you don't need to "catch up". Keep the analog gauges with the information center. I personally prefer the gauges. I HATED when Peterbilt and Kenworth forced their digital dash on customers.
I kind of agree with you but also think they can do something to make it look a little better though

I didn't think I would like the Volvo but it looks really nice and I love the analog gauges. It would take me a while to get used to driving a automatic thought 🤔 but it would be kind of nice in town.

@aarronortiz1879, if your trucks had a 24v electrical system instead of a12v system, it with do away with the need to idle trucks or use an APU, European trucks have used a 24v system for decades and I don't know of any instances where drivers have needed to idle their trucks overnight to keep the batteries fully charged, even in the nordic countries like Norway, and Sweden where winter night time temperatures can drop below -15 degrees centigrade

Couple things 1 trx books loads and 2 the stick you called the jake brake is actually the trolley valve for the trailer
Not sure what you meant by your first point but regarding the second point, yes, I meant trailer brake and not Jake brake. Brain fart moment
In the video you stated referencing the bed/table where you could book your loads.... I've worked at trx twice and never once had the option/opportunity to book my own loads
@robertjohnson4829 I see what you mean now. That was more of a general statement regarding the various purposes you could use that space for. You're right, we book the loads for all of our drivers and do not offer the option of booking yourself. But there are smaller fleets out there or one man Trucking companies that would appreciate the size of the sleeper space for load booking. That's what I meant with that statement. My bad for not being clear on that. Thank you for catching it!
I like the idea of the dinette option in the back. But I but don't like how they made it. I think it's a lot of work just to set up the table. You need to remove your bedding each time you're gonna use the table, and when you use it as a bunk, you sleep on 4 small mattresses. I don't think that's very comfortable. This part of the truck has, to my knowledge, not been updated for years. They should copy or improve on Freightliner's take on it, where you just fold over the back of each chair and fold the table down in the same way as in the Volvo. The bed itself is then an Murphy bed that you don't have to make each time, and the matress can be change to better quality if you want to.
The overall exterior design of the truck could also use a major update. They have only made smaller adjustments for a long time now. Give us something that screams truck and is cool to look at, like the european COE Volvo's.
Word for word, i totally agree on everything you said. Although its fairly comfortable when you setup the lower bed, I'd imagine these mattresses move around while you sleep. A bed sheet might hold them together but i get your point and second your opinion. As for the exterior, i definitely think they should update something too because there's practically nothing indistinguishable between a 2019 and a 2023 model. Thank you for your input!

It may need a little cleaning but it isn't that bad. It actually may look worse than it is. :)
Ultimately the best interior that you can get on a truck for over the road. The only thing that would make the Volvo more pleasurable truck would be the engine being a little bit more powerful but don't get me wrong 455 and 1850 torque is more than enough to do 90% of the work out here.
In Sweden (Europe and maybe the rest of the world) Volvo have D13 engine with 540HP and D16 with 750HP
In 1999 I bought a VNL 770 which had a 550 CAT and a 13 Speed Eaton Fuller Transmission. It was a wonderful truck. I owned it for 12 years, then when I tried to upgrade to a newer Volvo, I simply could not get the specs that I wanted. It seemed that this useless I-shift was all I could find. Caterpillar Engines were no longer available in VNL, so I opted for a Peterbilt instead. I hope Volvo can listen to Owner Operators and give us back our 13 speed or 18 speed transmissions. They are loosing a lot of business, with that lousy I-shift.

someone please explain this guy the correct use for the lever on the dash, thats for the trailer brake for when you move the trailer tandems, the Jake brake is the top lever on the right side of the steering column
Hey thanks for your input. Yes, I'm quite aware that i made a mistake. Of course i know that the lever is a trailer brake. I just had a brain fart at that moment and said Jake brake instead of trailer brake. Btw, it's not just for when you slide your tandems.

heb je wel es gereden in een VNL? Dan zul je vernemen dat ze net zo comfortabel rijden als de cabover’s. Je hebt wel meer ruimte in een VNL. Ik heb 10 jaar een Globetrotter gehad in NL en de rest van Europa.

My fiance and I are wanting to team drive and we were wondering are all Volvo trucks beds big enough for two to sleep side by side comfortably?
well, you probably wont get to do that too often if you're team driving. usually while one is sleeping, the other is driving and vice versa. I bet if the 2 of you spoon you'll fit fine.
In my 23 years of driving and several periods of women with me as passengers, we had no problems sharing the bed. Larger would obviously be better. But it's workable. Now consider the size of both people, from my perspective. I tend to date women 5' 2" to 5' 5", medium to small size. I'm 5' 9" 280. Yeah, I have a collapsible weight bench and dumbells in my rig.
What is the price for this truck ?
I'm not sure. It depends on the milage, place you purchase, state, year etc. This particular model, i don't know though

I did the video right as we got this truck. We didn't give it to a driver yet (at time of filming) We had a crew clean it before and after the video so i guess your comment goes to the person we bought it from.

You need Volvos D16 engine with 750HP or Scania 770HP truck. Sorry for not having those in the US. Those are kings of the hills!
