We love our 2003 Tundra flareside TRD Sport. My kids grew up in that truck (as well as a Camry Se) & now drive those vehicles. My wife & I both have FJ Cruisers. We definitely love our Toyotas!!

I just bought an SR5 crew max trd off road on the last day of the 1.9 financing last month. I absolutely love this thing. It’s my first new vehicle ever, and I broke it in right, changing the oil at 1000miles, and I will again at 5000. I put about 20,000 miles on my vehicles a year, and I have no doubt that this truck could very well be the last one I buy. I’m 40 now, and most men in my family die around 72-75. I really think with religious maintenance this truck will see 500k. Driving this truck reminds me of my grandpa and his 1990 pickup. We are a Toyota family now. A dozen different Toyota’s have served me well, and we currently have an FJ, Sequoia, and the tundra. Toyota for life!!!

I have a platinum series with an upgraded off road suspension with a 3 in lift. 33x20 wheels. With all the performance upgrades available, this truck looks and performs better than any other 1500 on the road. I cant imagine driving anything else. It really is the perfect truck. Most new trucks are nice when they are new, but put 300-500k miles on it then we can talk. [Not that a domestic will actually still be on the road with those miles...] if you need to haul more than 10k lbs, for safety reasons you should be driving a 3/4 ton anyway... customer for life.

I have 2021 Tundra limited 2WD 5.7 v8. Now have about 9000 miles. Engine spark knock was noticed since around 3000 miles. Very surprising since Toyota keeps drumming QDR. A new truck with engine spark knock pretty much in all power band except idling is normal for this truck? Manual said occasional knock is normal bit this isn't occasional. 87 octane gas used and even tried 93 octane but not much difference. oil changed every 5000 miles with Mobil synthetic 0w-20 as recommended. Two dealers have seen the truck. One said can't hear the other dealer service Manger said he heard but its normal. This is such annoying issue and I have never experienced from any other trucks I had (2 F150s, Sierra and even Tacoma) would love to hear from Toyota on this directly. If Toyota is interested in my issue you can leave a reply. Let's see if anyone cares.

Tundra’s offer no grab handle on the driver’s side. This is a glaring omission and dumbfounding to me. Why not?! This makes getting in/out the cab a little tricky, if not awkward/inelegant. Given stepping bars aren’t standard, try getting into a Tundra! Even when a stepping bar is installed, the grab handle would serve as an additional convenient (safety) feature. If the stepping bar is icy/slippery, the grab handle could save you from a fall and possibly injury. It makes the truck more accessible and promotes equality - people of all genders and body types can comfortably access the cab.
Would buy the upcoming 2022 Tundra? Yes, but not without the driver’s side grab handle. If the driver’s side grab handle is not a standard feature, I would insist the Toyota dealer install one before completing the purchase and driving off the lot.
Here’s my question to the 2022 Tundra design team: will driver’s side grab handle be available as a standard (safety) feature?

I love Toyota but they lost my business because they wait way too long for a redesign. I had a 2008 sequoia and wanted to trade it for a new one but it looked exactly like the one i had. After 12 years I would like a different style. Same goes with the Tundra, a 2010 looks like a 2021. Its kind of hard for some of us wanting to upgrade when they dont change anything. Now I own a Honda pilot and a Ford f-250 which by the way both get way better fuel mileage than Toyota.
