- In this video, we're going to compare and contrast the American and European Doberman Pinschers. We'll look at the different characteristics of these two breeds, and see which is better for you.
If you're looking for a dog that will serve you well both on and off the leash, the American Doberman Pinscher is a great choice. But if you're looking for a more versatile breed, the European Doberman Pinscher is worth considering. Watching this video will help you make the decision that's best for you!
this makes total sense because all american dobermans have a .45 in their pants so they don't have to be so aggressive/protective.
Lmao this got me
This is a classic example of what happens when you retool a handsome breed to be a show dog instead of the guard dog it was originally bred to be.
My cousin has a doberman that thinks she's a lap dog and will greet strangers like she has known them for ever !! Not a single mean streak in her , great dog
I prefer the European Dobberman.
Same
Come over to house, my Dobermans have been tough over the years since 80s. Texas & Florida breeders is where my Dobermans come from..
They match the owner behaviors..
Dobermans are 80 pounds they easy to get off of u if a intruder really fought back could stab it or throw it off but compared to a rottweiler they heavy have a double coat and once they bite its over
@@ImJidionDaddy Ask that last guy lost his right calf , he passed out 50 yards blood loss on the street .
@@ImJidionDaddyyou do realize a gun would take out a rottie. Where im from the robbers and people that do home invasions use guns and will kill a dog.
@@ImJidionDaddy a real Dobermann pure breed from germany male has about 90 to 100 pounds, dont compare it with Dobermanns from US! They have a thicker neck and they are more aggressive and very clever for a dog!
You have to Look real „ Königs Dobermann“ Thats different Dobermann which you have Seen and of Course the Rottweiler is stronger than a Dobermann but the legend says that for hunting humans the Dobermann is the best in it
Where I’m from dogs are to alarm you of the intruder and give you time to react. Nothing can stop a man wit a gun but a gun lol
Working dog before a shoe dog, same like the rottweiler aswell
Very beautiful and great gotta lovem
thats great to know, thank you
American dobermans look more feminine as if taller and skinnier, the European ones look buff, as if they’ve been training in the army daily
this woman is rare. She actually knows what she’s talking about… if you watch this complete video, you will understand the difference between a western and eastern European and an actual real working dog, very few of them exist in the Dobermann
Where can I find the full interview ?
On his page, look through his videos it’s there 👍
Or just type in Doberman documentary, it's on the list
Need a link to this video
💯💯💯
we had American dobies and they were just fine
Nobody said anything bad about them, they are just slimmer and not as militant as their European counterparts. Both are great choices as most people just want a pet. If you want a protection dog However it’s European all the way.
@@leyotheturtle313 yeah I’ve had two American Dobermans and one euro and the Americans are little bitches compared to my euro haha
American Dobermans are Fantastic Pets. However, if you're looking for a personal protection dog, American Dobermans do not really have what it takes as evidenced by the fact that if you try to buy a pre-trained personal protection dog, nine times out of ten it's going to be a working line German Shepherd, second choice will be a Malinois or X Malinois, which is a mixture of Dutch Shepherd, Malinois, and a little bit of working line German Shepherd
Our American Dobermans were good watchdogs as well. Not all of them but but not all dogs are alike. The American Doberman has its roots in Germany. Honestly if you want to say it correctly, its a Doberman bred in Europe. Just like its a rottweiler bred in America, or a rottie bred in Germany. It's a German dog either way. Sometimes Europe breeds them a little more fierce and territorial I suppose but I prefer to let their natural instincts take care of business. Meaning I don't like my dogs too sharp. There are plenty of Americans who also breed for temperament in this lovely European based breed. Americans can produce a sound temperament too and hv bc that's what we always had growing up and they were EXCELLENT dogs. As far as the mallie or Dutch dogs I've heard good things but let's be honest, they usually end up in pounds bc a typical family over here doesn't hv a clue of what they are getting and in no way can provide the stimulus that they need to be happy. Strictly working dogs, and I'd bet the "American" ones are just a sharp. Let's do away with the mind set that Americans are Dummies who can't possibly understand what it takes to breed a sound dog. If I wanted to turn a Dobie into a trained personal protection dog there's plenty of breeders of this breed here in America who could make that happen for me. Why train it to do that when it comes natural though? The Doberman is a wonderful capable breed, whether it's bred in Europe or America, and all Dobermans originally came from Europe. Quit dumbing down any Doberman bred in America, theyre wonderful, smart , and will protect you. Not all, but most, ok?
European Dobermans are known to have a greater instinctive work ethic. American Dobermans are smaller and lighter than European Dobermans but even though I’d probably get a European one here in England I’d say the American Doberman looks more elegant than European Dobermans.
And there you have it
ITS Not Western Europe, the Dog ist from Our neighbours from Germany
the real doberman is the german
This is why I prefer the European over the American
I am not a fan of the American Dobermens
sorry for you, friend, but the real race is in english not really deutch then the rest is just fictitious and has been for years
@@alano7113 what does that have to do with anything?
@@tyrannotherium7873basically it's not a breed like some others, there are a lot of so-called breeds that aren't, in addition some breeds have natural colors that aren't allowed or even suppressed
@@alano7113i agree, i even had dinner yesterday with walt disney, we spoke alot about how even gravity can’t pull b*tches
Not a fan of anything American.
European is Best she's saying ok
As soon as you lose temperament, you lose breed type.
I like the European Brees dog. Looks better to me and I like the idea of the protection.
In east europe they'll try to make them a little bigger, a little meaner and a lot smarter.
Facts….the difference of day and night between the two. I’ve had both and like both, Europeans seem to be the healthier or two right now.
True not just Dobbies it’s rotties and German Shepard dogs . European dogs are genetically tested for health defects prior to breeding
Sadly I saw one drop dead at 4 yrs old on the training field from heart attack the breed is in serious trouble with this. He was a Euro dog.
@@user-mk2ye7rz9o Do you know what region of Europe the dog came from? DCM is terrible and is destroying the breed. I logged my dog’s embark and pen-hip with the Doberman Diversity Project. I really believe that if breeders spent the money to screen before breeding they can correct this in less than 10yrs. When I was a kid our Dobermans lived to be 13 and 15 years old. Now you’re lucky if they make it to 10. I’m crossing my fingers with this one.
Europen doberman are the actual doberman
I concur 110%
The breed wasn’t bred to be a Labrador labs are great if you want one get one. The Euro Dobermans can still work as they where bred for sadly both lines are in serious trouble with serious heart issues
My dobi is aggressive and very protective I don’t know what they are talking about yes it’s American
Every dog can be protective and aggressive, a working line dog has more than that and a lot of confidence since about 6 weeks old when other puppies are scared and hesitant. Plus your dog might've been the most protective of it's litter while all the other puppies were too soft for protection work.
I would prefer a mellow Doberman. ❤
Thought you used donuts and guns
European Doberman are the best Doberman.
Americans destroyed every dog breed they got
Why the hell would anyone want a Lab in a Doberman suit???
Why get a doberman with the temperament of a labrador? Just get a labrador. What a waste of a beautiful breed.
American dobes live longer than Euro dobes, I've had 12-7 American five euro , the Euros all went at 7
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. beautiful dog otherwise
Personal protection? At least one on book this person read?
If you want a lab get a lab !
Just like the rest of America
but these days euro dobies they're breeding more hypertype dobermans for size with lots of health issues
The European ones are
more Rottweiler than Greyhound.
The European dobermanns are bred as personal protection dogs. They need size and strength not speed
The uh ..uh...idk...uhhhh..um...uhhhh... Idk... Uuuhhhh
labradors can be protective also
If you can't control the dog, dont improve your skills, go easy on yourself, and make the dog weaker. Yeah, that makes no sense at all. Somw people shouldnt be near dogs.
I prefer American bred dogs.
You prefer cowardly and dumber dogs?
They’re beta
@@allen2333 They aren't so heavy boned and are more athletic 👟
Thats true i got rid of Dobes cause i needed guard dogs not lap dogs
If you wanted a dobermann that's good in personal protection you should've bought a European working line
I have a majority American doberman and he’s as much a “working” dog as any euro you just have to redirect it
He truly isn't. A European working dobermann will outwork any American dobberman on the planet. We trained our Malinois and dobermann in personal protection both will gladly work 20 hours a day
@@6ft7guyAPBT can work 20 hr days it’s what you want from a dog that makes them. If you’re lazy they’re lazy if you want them to work they’ll work.
@@Aampi who's talking about a Pitbull???🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ we're talking dobermanns. I'll educate you anywhere. When the dobermann first arrived to the states people loved it but said it was too intense, so they started mixing greyhound in and starting breeding to take the drive out. So an American doberman is really a dobermann mixed greyhound with the drive and motivation taken out.
Please this woman needs to stop everything that has to do with dogs
