$1000 off! That's a great deal. I wish I lived in the US; I'd buy it.
I am LOVING this!
I have a freeze dryer on my want list and I have a Dave Ramsey envelope for it I may or may not even have enough with this sale and your code! ❤
I am keeping your brother in my prayers. 🙏🏼
Costco had the small for $1599.
@@NYJean55this will be less come February. You’d save $200 from Costco’s price.
I'm trying to order using your promo code but there's no section to add the promo code when placing the order.
Ok, Lady Farm Girl...I seriously hope that you've been keeping journals of everything that you present in ALL of your videos and someday turn that into a book! Your videos are always packed with info, pros and cons, how-to's and how-not-to's, and recipes on top of all of that. I have a list of illnesses that I have to work around and the treatments for them tend to aggravate everything else lol. It's so frustrating. Dehydrating lemons tends to ruin its benefits for the pseudotumor cerebrii; likewise for the cranberries and many herbs. This is an amazing option for all of this. Thank you so much for your work and blessings to you and yours!
Our town library has a "library of things" that you can check out, from a bunny cake pan to a drill set to a portable record player. I've long thought that a community kitchen lending library would be so nice for people who aren't sure about how much they will use a bigger ticket or size item like a pressure canner or a freeze dryer or a giant pot for brewing beer. You could either use it occasionally when it's available as needed or do a trial run to decided if your money would be well spent with buying it. Sometimes its hard to know theoretically if a tool will work for you without a hands on trial.
That’s a great idea!
I have a freeze drier that I purchased over a year ago and still learning of ways to use it. It’s big and heavy requiring it’s own space and additional room to hold the accessories that are used in its function. I think it’s a fantastic tool for food preservation, but you have to know how to use it properly. A freeze drier is a very expensive piece of equipment that requires careful monitoring and maintenance. It wouldn’t be something that I would personally recommend for public use as it can easily be misused and damaged.
If you look around you can buy so many things cheaply because people think they want to do, what ever they see, but then find out is a lot of work. So they sell their equipment cheaper.
We've had our freeze dryer for 4+ years. I love the idea of using it to make supplements. Great video, Cassandra! I appreciate your videos! (Prayers & good thoughts for you brother & folks)
The very large items, like a freeze dryer, are not portable appliances. They are extremely heavy and require their own space and setup. I researched and watched every video out there before purchasing mine. Now I have 2. If you know anyone that has one, see if they will let you come watch the process and even bring something that you want freeze dried. Then you have to store it properly otherwise it will go to waste. It’s a lot but so worth it, only if you have the need and only if you use it.
I bought my freeze dryer five years ago. I started out trying all kinds of things. I have a few acres, garden, orchard, and needed another option for preserving. Over the years we've found what we like to freeze dry. I do not freeze dry meals (but seriously, freeze dried rice krispy treats were are delicious). I love to eat freeze dried sweet corn (crunchy snack). I freeze dry herbs for mixes, gifts, powders, and use it in cooking ALL the time! I freeze dry fruit and the family loves it. I've made popcorn powders, elderberry syrup kits, ranch dressings (by freeze drying and then mixing ingredients), I love freeze drying onions, garlic, tomatoes, pumpkin, zucchini, leeks, and most recently ramen toppings, and powdered the fermented black garlic I made (which I put in all sorts of things). I'm also working on a fire cider mix to make on an as needed basis (you'll still need to ferment) after you dump in a jar and add the apple cider vinegar with the mother (no more finding the ingredients, chopping). Anyhow the options are endless. I wouldn't say I'm an industrial user, it's not busy all the time, but it's easy to maintain, and the sky is the limit! I also decided to make sure I had staples freeze dried for those times you just need butter milk, yogurt, sour cream, milk etc., and you just don't have it in the fridge. I have freeze dried cheese and a whole dairy section for those 'staples. They are also fun to make popcorn toppings from. Excellent for smoothies, teas, basically, I feel like I can make anything I want now through freeze drying, canning, freezing, dehydrating, sun drying. I definitely shop at the grocery store, but more and more find myself thinking, I can make that....and I do.
I seriously appreciate your support, honesty, and teaching ability. You are one of a few that will take the time to follow through. From start to finish I will always know what to do. Thank you so so much ❤🙏🏻❤️
Awww, this is so kind of you to say. Sometimes I wonder if I'm getting my point across. I'm much obliged!
I adore the idea of using a freeze-dryer to make our own whole-food supplements and teas! We would have to ensure we're using the machine at least twice a week to make it make sense (and cents) to us, but we're definitely saving for one!
Hi Friend! It's been a game changer in those food categories for sure. It's almost criminal how little nutrition you get for the premium prices you pay to get a small amount of ingredients you want, alongside a chemical swirl of things you don't. Since maintaining a supplement routine would only be a reoccurring expense, ensuring that I use our freeze dryer in this way has helped "justify" the cost. I didn't rush to get one and neither should you. Keep watching the many awesome videos you'll find here on YT so that once you do get one, you'll be a pro from day one!
By far the best money I've ever spent on a kitchen appliance!! Not one regret. I freeze dried a few items that I won't do again, but it has made a huge difference in my ability to keep my pantry full at discounted prices of in season items. I purchased one 3 1/2 years ago and love it.
Im so excited!! I showed hubby this video, and he gave me the ok to buy a freeze dryer!!! Thank you!! We used your link and your code!! Now the waiting begins!!
What you've done here is exactly why I want a freeze dryer!! So glad someone finally made a video showing this! It's always about food and snacks. But this is truly where the freeze dryer will pay for itself!! God bless you and yours, Dawn from TN.
I have been wanting a freeze dryer for a long time. But can't justify the purchase price since I am totally new to gardening and eating more organic. I want to introduce more organic produce into our meals. So am so you made this video. Oh, girl, you look so great. You are even glowing. Sending many blessings.
Totally agree! We use our freeze dryer for everything... Supplements, seasonings we grow her and freeze dry, meals, snacks and so much more... What An Amazing Game Changer ❤ Thanks for sharing SoilSista
You are the most interesting channel ever!
Aww, thank you so much! I love making videos about this stuff!
I've always been a frugal person and idk why I decided to buy a freeze dryer, but the regret shocklingly never came, they're amazingly useful. My aunt's got it for the moment since im in an apartment now, but even if it someday breaks I will gladly buy another, and am happy that she gets to make things with it
We just ran a batch of tomatoes from last summer’s garden through the freeze dryer. Five one gallon bags of tomatoes are now powdered and in a quart sized jar. Can we say space saver?? This one jar eliminates the need to stock tomato paste/sauce/juice.
Amen and amen! And THAT'S what I love about have a multi method preservation kitchen that folds in freeze drying!
I'm super excited. My freeze dryer will be delivered on Monday. And I have 14 gallon ziploc bags in my freezer full of cold tomatoes from last season's harvest, and this is the first thing that I'm going to do with it. This is so exciting that I get to save so much room. We've got a very small house. In canning, jars take up so much space. This is so exciting
@ You’re going to have so much fun!
And tomato powder? Game changer!
Now, try doing the same with zucchini! 🎉
@jenniferr2057 ooohhh, i've read it can use that for flour? I have celiac and that would be a game changer
One of my favorite things with tomatoes is freeze-dried slices on a chicken or turkey sandwich. The flavor and crunch give it that extra something that puts the sandwich at another level. Keep up the great work and wonderful ideas.
I'm not using my HR freeze dryer as much as I thought I would. Thanks for the great ideas!
Absolutely! I've got more inspo coming!
Great informational video on freeze drying! I have been saving for one for some time now and hope this may be possible sooner with this sale... we'll see! Thank you again for the quality step-by-step presentation! Blessings Kiddo!🌿💚🙏💕👵
New sub. I'm learning
I just want to say thank you for your efforts on your channel because you provide invaluable information ❤
Hi Alicia! Thank you so much friend! :) I appreciate that you take time to stop by my kitchen!
Thanks for sharing this information. I have saved and have the funds for a freeze dryer. I’m 73 and my children say it’s a way of money I will never recover the cost. But I’m definitely about to jump in with both feet . Like you said I don’t like everything canned dehydrated of frozen . So this will add to my pantry in a grand way .
I just purchased an additional half acre that will be a large raised bed garden . So excited about that .
I would love to go hunting with you . I love to fish and hunt . My favorite is bow hunting You should add that to your list of things to learn . Ok I’m rambling .. love your channel .
Every video I know I am about to learn, laugh, save money and get hungry! I was on the fence on purchasing a freeze dryer and I am not sure they will be in the budget this season but I am hopeful another good deal will come around.
Hi Friend! I was right there with you and truly there is no rush. Keep watching the many videos you'll find across TH-cam to peek into the routines of others so that you can measure what makes sense for you. You can do so much with a canning, fermenting, dehydrating routine that's for sure. I think because I went into freeze drying knowing that it was more about nutrient preservation and a supplement to a pretty packed out preservation routine, it's not been a decision I've regretted. You'll know when the time is right and yes, wait for a sale :)
@@BecomingaFarmGirl The nutrients preservation was exactly the reason why I was so interested in freeze drying in the first place. I will say I am glad companies like Harvest Right have decided to make units you can use in home!
I've got a Freezedryer and love it! I have a big jar of ground up FD veggie scraps that go into all kinds of random soups and dishes for extra vitamins.
I am impressed. I don't think you're my new best friend - yet. I love what you're doing and that I get to come along for the ride. Also, spreading your content to my family. Can't wait to get to know you better!
Amazing! I wish we were neighbors, lol. I love preserving my food, especially the food I've grown. We recently purchased our Harvest Right freeze dryer-what a game-changer! I love it! Canning is also my favorite method. Thank you. I can't wait to watch more of your channel. Please do a freeze-dryer cookbook 🥰
this is fascinating. I just was reading about how people were using their freeze dryer for this very thing (harvest right facebook group). I started looking into freeze drying in the fall when my dad (age 89) had to get a feeding tube because of swallowing difficulties. The "food" they were feeding him was really distressing; basically baby formula. There are some companies that make "real food" so my parents are doing that now. But, it is expensive and no way to take the supplements they are used to taking. I thought the FD might be just the ticket. I live on the other side of the country so I haven't followed through, but this video is really giving me something to think about - and not just for my dad. Thanks for these ideas.
I bought my freeze dryer too late to help my father, he always complained about how tasteless food was on his soft diet - it was one of the few pleasures he had left (eating). I wish I had it a few years earlier, to blenderize, finely dice or powder things like butter chicken, fresh fruits and other meals he loved that would easily reconstitute into soft consistencies with wonderful flavors that I could bring anywhere, and fix easily - anywhere.
I can't believe you're going to teach me how to make supplements!! Thank you!
Absolutely! It's easier than you think, and in virtually every instance, you'll be getting a higher quality version of what you'll find in the supplement aisle at a fraction of the cost!
@@BecomingaFarmGirl It's definitely being able to control what I'm ingesting that interests me 😊 Thanks again 💕
What a great idea about the supplements you’ve inspired me to do it. I do use my freeze dryer to preserve my dog’s raw food that I make for him. I save a ton of money and it makes traveling much easier. Thank you.
I love this! I currently live in an apartment, with limited space, so no freeze dryer yet. Waiting on a house for that purchase. I was at Costco this last weekend and saw they had a Harvest Right Freeze Dryer for $1500. I haven’t really seen any in person until this one, but I think it’s the smaller one. Getting one, would take my healthy eating quest to a new level!
You are one smart lady Cassandra. I'm older and losing my sight so I have been freeze drying whole meals for about 4 years now. I can still see enough to do it so I'll keep doing it as long as I can. That way when I can no longer see to prepare meals I can still have delicious, healthy meals quick and easy. No TV dinners for this old lady! No meals on wheels and no one needing to cook and bring in meals for me. I'll have my own. I'm also a bit of a prepper so I do it for long term storage as well. Please tell people that as nice as dehydrating is, you get the original fresh flavor from freeze dried foods. All the taste and nutrients made the way you like it. What more can you ask for?
Love your channel. Always full of great ideas. We missed you while you were on hiatus.
Aww, thank you my friend! :) I talked about what happened during my abrupt leave in this video:th-cam.com/video/nr6kRFSU5l0/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for sparking another avenue of food preservation - using my freeze dryer (that I love) to make nutritional supplements. I’m now happily researching supplements and exploring new items to freeze dry. This means so much to be focused on health, control over food quality, and lowering costs. How refreshing to focus on this avenue vs. the chaos on news stations. You are indeed a blessing and this video came at just the right time!
I literally just got mine delivered today - can’t wait to get started with mine!!!
Great video, Cassandra, for those who have a freeze dryer already and those who are thinking about it.
Oh my goodness! I love your no nonsense, witty, hilarious self! Thank you for this! I never thought of the supplements and tea options. I am just learning canning. Learning and mastering these skills one by one❤️
A woman after my own heart!! I am doing all of this and more. I can't recommend a freeze dryer enough!!
I would make spices out of those orange and lemon zests! Yum yum. Beautiful ideas. ❤
I love this idea of using the peels. I have taken my orange peels, placed them in a jar, topped with vinegar and let soak for 3 to 5 weeks. I then use that to spray the ants in the house if I see any.
You say things that makes sense to me. I've always preserved . Freeze drying just works. It's just a step forward.
Oh my.... I have a new goal for the year!!! love the capsule thing.....thanks for sharing!!!!
Where can I get the capsules & filler?
Totally love making our own supplements! Just know organic doesn’t necessarily mean pesticide free! It’s all about what’s used and at what quantity. It’s such a hard thing to trace for every product we eat, so (while it’s not always available/possible) grow your own, buy in season and know your farmer!
I've never thought of using freeze-dried fruit to make my own capsules! I have a capsule maker that I've never used. I use FD beef liver for dog treats...they LOVE them! They're only allowed to have a few small pieces each day.
My cousin actually has two freeze driers. While I like the idea, a freeze dryer is something I don't ever see myself getting. We live in a tiny house and do without a lot of fancy appliances because we just don't have the space. I dehydrate a lot and just buy the few things that are better freeze dried...like strawberries.
This would be a total game changer on just the money spent annually on nutracuticles I need to take due to a heath condition. Let alone all the other uses for it. Gonna have to crunch some more numbers. Thanks for all the information you provide. You are so very helpful. Take care.
just stumbled upon this but You are Right on Point! Got my capsule machine a while back holds 100.
I love you for this! You have become my best friend!😅🙏🏾💕
Aww, this is so sweet of you to say! Happy to be your friend! :)
I am so happy you came up in my feed! I just started canning last year and I am fully committed...just love this video. With a husband, pugs, and a bunny I want to control as much as possible what we all ingest. Great ideas - I just subscribed😊
Thanks Cassandra, you’re such an inspiration!
Just found your channel recently. Its SOOOO helpful and useful! 👍❤️🔥💯 Came to this channel to learn more about things i was aware of but wanted to get better at. Got that but ALSO have learned a ton of things i WASN'T aware of and am really glad I am now! 😮👍❤️🔥💯
Absolutely loved this information you shared!❤
Thank you Cassandra. Your energy and your content always inspire me. I love your videos. 😊
Aww, thank you so much my friend! :)
Very informative. Thank you for all your work to share and educate. ❤
It's truly my pleasure, my friend and I'm so appreciative you stopped by my kitchen today!
Amen! TY for pointing out the questionable ingredients in store bought supplements. Just read the label folks....and toss them out😊
I've learned so much on your channel. Thank you ❤
I thought i was using my freeze dryer to its greatest potential but now i see it can do so much more! Thanks for the well laid out information. I am having trouble finding the capsule filling device you used, or something similar. I can find the actual capsules but not the device. Can you point us in the right direction? Thanks!
I am interested in the machine, also. not having luck finding it on amazon
Try The Vitamin Shop or your favorite vitamin store.
Awesome video. It put a whole new spin on something I probably would have thought about using a Freeze Dryer for. Thank you so much for being on TH-cam. Your channel is my favorite.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
Thanks for this great show with all of these great ideas.
You are very welcome my friend!
Can I ask where you got the thing that you put your cast iron skillets on behind you? I love this idea!
Well put! Important information honestly presented.
Thank you my friend :)
When I powder my liquid bone broth I put the treys in the freezer to freeze before freeze drying. It cuts the process time, which since it's all liquid, takes a while.
after i skin the tomatoes for canning, i dry the skins and powder them to had to any dish, also do the same with left over like celery leaves, ends of vegetables, so i have a tomato dried jar and a mixed veggie green jar perfect additives for any dish! I dont know the livers would have made it, once cooked to dry i may or may not have eaten them before they were dried lol
Such a helpful video, as usual. I am excitedly awaiting the delivery of my freeze dryer.
I love my freeze dryer! I powder beets and fill capsuls. Will be adding options shown here.
I used to dry liver in my dehydrator as slices (beef liver which was pre-sliced) and then I would add the pulverized powder to my dried and powdered beef when making pemmican. Wow the flavor that little bit of liver adds to pemmican is amazing. It made a sort of bland food into a super tasty food! I actually wanted to eat that pemmican lol. 😜
Thank you so very much for showing us how to make ur own vitamin mix/tablets. I would have never thought of doing that!!!!! But how good is it to make your self.
Hey Sunshine! I have not watched a ton of your videos, so, I have to ask...have you freeze dried any of your ferments? When I learned that I can take our sauerkraut and freeze dry it? 😃😃That kicked the fermenting and freeze drying up a notch. My husband LOVES beets..except if they are fermented...unless they are fermented and THEN freeze dried. He will sit and snack on them while he reads his books! You do need to make sure as with herbs, that you turn the heat down to 95 for the drying time to keep those probiotic bennies...Oh yeah 😃😃 can you say JOSEPH, freeze drying for...have you seen the weather?
I've had my freeze dryer for two years now and love it. I can't take store bought supplements because of the yeast they often add. Do you know of a good source for herbal remedies? I would love to start making my own.Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos.
Good to see your back fellow Maryland friend!
This was an awesome video! I’ve been on the fence because I do not have a garden and I’ve never followed produce schedules to purchase bulk quantities from local farms, however, I’m changing that because of you. Thank you for sharing this very valuable information. PS. Can’t you freeze the tomatoes in deep freezer first to help with reducing the freeze drying process?
Thank you for making this look easy!
Haha, aww, thank you :). After the food prep on the front end, it certainly is!
Really great review!
If you need a freeze dryer for maybe an occasional small project. I use a method that isn't as good but still effective. I prep the project and place it into a FROST FREE freezer uncovered until dried. Boom, economical freeze dryer!
No, it's definitely not as efficient or quick, but it does the job. It is also safer when drying meats or dairy.
I really like the idea of the freeze dried orange and lemon peel but I do not have the money to add a freeze dryer. Your method will work for the pound of citrus I want to work up today.
Can you use it without the capsules like maybe 1/2 teaspoon in a tea or water I don’t like pills but I want to do this
She said you can,,,,,,
You absolutely can my friend! Drats, I should've mentioned that!
Good evening love your videos, keep teaching I love to learn about gardening.
Last-ish video was so about it.... I just can't remember the details. Fun video to watch!
I love freeze dried beets, green beans and pickles. I freeze dry meals for when I’m too busy to cook. I just don’t like the noise or length of time. But it’s all doable.
Hey Girl! Where did you get that pill filler? That is so great. I fill my pills one at a time. Love all of your content. I have two Greenstalks and I really want to know what I am doing wrong. I just can't get a lot to grow in them. Always praying for your beautiful family.
Very good and informative video thank you for sharing
Can you add a link to the capsule machine? I love your channel. It is so informative. Thanks
No need to send link I actually found the Capsule Machine online. I an ordering today.
Omgosh! I love this!!
I was upset when I found dyes on a label of my favorite tea. This is definitely on my list.
I just found your channel and you are adorable! Love it!
Thanks. You are amazing!! I love learning from you!
Great info Cassandra ❤
If you don’t have a freezer dryer, can 30:05 you dehydrate lemon peels and powder them and then just encapsulate them?
I think the heat in the dehydrator kills the vitamin c. Pretty sure she said that as well.
@ I didn’t catch that. Thanks!
I air dry my lemon peels put them in a jar, grind them with the coffee grinder then sift through a fine strainer
@@bluebutterflywellness2273 wow, never thought of that! Do you just place them in a tray in the kitchen to dry?
A video on a channel called She Is Of The Woods has detailed info on drying orange peels and making a vitamin C supplement. Don't believe she uses a dehydrator, think it's just room temp drying. Check out her channel I know there's a video on it. Take care.
We would like a freeze dryer but don’t have the space for it in our current house. Someday though.. I really want to be able to make my own herbal medicines to encapsulate! Especially as I get better at growing my own herbs, I really want to take better advantage of them and not have to purchase herbs. I did find the capsule machine that you showed though so I’ll for sure get that so I can at least start encapsulating stuff that I’ve dehydrated or purchased
You're the best!!!❤
Good Morning Cassandra. Thanks for all this good information. Is it possible to dehydrate the orange and lemon peels to use as a supplement? Would you need to take a larger dose as compared to the freeze dried method?
Praying you and your family are doing well.
This was a great video! I cannot get a freezer dryer just yet, but would like to make the orange/lemon supplements. I do not have a dehydrator either. Is there a way to do this via the oven? 🍊 🍋
I have the same question. Can we make these supplements with dehydrated citrus?
I love your ideas
That is amazing! I learn so much from you. Thank you! Where can I purchase the item to make my own pills?
Food allergies make it worth having a freeze dryer! Convenient meals and snacks for on the go!
Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!😊
Your welcome, honey! :)
I love it! So convenient.
Great video! Also can keep in a jar with a dessicant and use in baking! Lastly, did you powder your orange slices too? Do you use them in baking or for other uses? OJ?
Love all of the iseas. We want one very much, but we just can't afford it. I keep trying to win one, but haven't yet. When we don't win, we just tell ourselves that someone else needs it more
Great v! Thank you for sharing!!
Question, in an older video there was a tutorial on a price book for grocery shopping, does anyone know what video the was?
I can't stop catching up on the whole channel ❤ just need to make note of the things I like so I can go back and find them......
Wow thank you! I am having a very hard time getting my oranges, grapefruit, and lemons dry. Even when my trays quit changing their weight. They are not dry. I picked up an orange slice and it was wet😭😭 Any advice??
Hello first time watching. Thank you for your uploads. Also do you have a Amazon storefront I would love to order that machine from you? Edit got it thank you.
great video!
