Just passed my exam! Thank you so much for this series!
What study habits did you have ?
@@KosmicFae I used the Messer study guide and practice tests (I did start out using his videos as well, but it was very dry). I also bought the Dion udemy course. I bought other books and tests, but didn't end up using them.
On the last few days I went all in on the practice tests (messer's practice tests have explanations after each question, so I would answer, write down the reason I answered that way and then review the correct answer.)
In the hours before my cert, I kept alternating from the messer study guide to the dion study and tried to find patterns. I also watched this video as well, it was more personable and I was able to pay attention better with it vs. the other videos.
@@letyoufindme what other certs do you have? whats your background?
How long does it took you to do all these from start to finish
@@tahntalus SWE. This was my 1st cybersec cert.
Hello, Francois, I used your course about 75-80% and I passed (701) a week ago on my first try. Thank you so much. I will Definately get in contact with you when I am ready. Amazing course for sure. Thank you once agian.
I passed 601 this morning with 752(750/900). I can't thank you enough for this rich resource you made available free online for someone like me. Your wealth of experience and style of teaching (pop-up questions) make your videos unique among others. Francois, you're the best! You're blessed. Thank you.
I am thrilled to share that I have just passed my exam, mere hours before it's officially retired. This course has been instrumental in my success. Thank you, François, for making it accessible to everyone for free. You are simply the best! Your teaching method is outstanding, and you are truly a blessing.
Passed my Security + using your materials. Thank you very much
Thank you so much my Mentor. I passed Security+ with a score 770/900. Definitely recommend new student to follow your explanations…👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤝🤝🤝
Congratulations 🎊🍾🎉🎈 for a job well done!!!!!
Congratulations on passing your exams! I'm curious to know what other resources did you use to prepare for the exam?
I used this mentor too Peter Zenger Security+ Exam Cram. Very helpful both! I wish you success on your turn.
Omg this is the best video I found on TH-cam. Planning to take my exam next week and I will update you all.
Good luck with your exam!!!!
After almost a year of studying , watching your videos and all other resources I get my hands on . I just passed today .Thank you for your thorough explanations and great content!
Congratulations to you for passing your CompTIA Security+ Exam and glad this video helped. Where to next?
Francois, I would like to think you for your course that helped me a lot to successfully passed the CompTIA SEcurity + exam today. Your explanations of different topics, hands on and practices contributed a lot with this success. Again thank you.
I plan to watch this video a few times!
dude you're a global hero thanks man
I am extremely happy to discover this TH-cam video today. Thank you 👍.
I am a newbie to Cybersecurity - recently, I completed a self-paced CC course and in the process of a career change from the education profession. Thank you, Francois, for creating this course. It is thorough, not rushed and connects information learned using relevant visuals and current events. This course is beneficial to those new to Cybersecurity and want to help make a positive impact on the cyber world.
You should also take the Google Cybersecurity course. It helps you prepare and you get 30% off sec+. A dual cert would be extremely powerful
I’m looking to change careers from the education sector to cybersecurity as well. I wish you much success in your journey.
I love your teaching style? I'm getting ready to teach a Security + course this weekend for the first time.
Ahhh ok, great instructor are absolutely needed in our industry! Good luck with your Sec+ course, let me know how it goes!!!!! If you have access to CompTIA CertMaster teaching version you should have access to these slides and more. I sort of customize them a bit for my test and add the practice questions to check students understanding.
@@Francois-B-Arthanas thank you for letting me know. I've worked as a System Admin and SOC analyst, now looking to do more of the GRC side of security. I love helping people and seeing folks succeed and want to teach. I appreciate your help! I'll def check the CompTIA CertMaster teaching version out sometime.

This could not have come at a better time. I'm so appreciative to have found this video and this TH-cam channel! I'm right now getting back into study mode in order to take this cert exam within the next couple of months before my test voucher expires. Please keep up the good work and I hope to thank you once I pass the cert exam!

Thank you so much for sharing. I paid for this course in 2020 before the pandemic started and while I appreciate the professor, I didn’t feel confident in taking the test. Your style of teaching helps put the knowledge into perspective and I get excited about taking the exam after I listen to you. I am definitely sharing with others.
Thanks 🙏🏾 so much for taking the time to share with others. Be sure to do some practice questions and PBQs before taking the exam. I do have some on the site….. Good luck👍
Great video, fantastic teacher/instructor. This is gold. By the way, Kevin Mitnick passed away in July due to pancreatic cancer.
Wooow, top notch learning
Just want to say a big thank you for your videos, I just passed my exams today. Great teaching video very easy to understand.
Congratulations on passing your exams! I'm curious to know what other resources did you use to prepare for the exam?
@reemahmed4178 to be honest I used dion and professor messa practice exams. But the closest to practice exams to the real exam is professor messa .
Just started this video series. My goal is to get a job in Cybersecurity and I am taking online courses at a University I am attending. On the side of that, I want to have a certification in Security+ because I know that security is essential these days. Wish me luck and good luck to others!
Good 👍 luck with your studies Eddy, Cyber is the best place to be for sure. Companies and Governments are not going to stop using computers 💻 ever. Which means more work for us as we keep them secure.

Is there somewhere I can download your slides, I'm taking notes from scratch which might be helpful actually. Thank you for uploading this!
Thank you so much! François
Hi Francois, is there a place where we can get your powerpoint presentation as we follow alone. It would really be helpful.
I have to get certified for my new job. Imma be taking notes, I'm also signed up for the 3 hours a day class package. But I'm a horrible test taker, better writer. I'm getting my master's in CST next month. But it's mainly paper writing & a few labs & scenarios. sec+ will be my first cert. My job has been SharePoint dev for 3.5-4 years so this is all still new to me. Just make some really nervous & anxious.
I haven't scheduled my test, I want to wait til after I'm done with the class & have two weeks prior to study. Maybe watch your two sec+ videos on repeat for 2 weeks.
Tony, congratulations 🎊🍾🎈🎉 on your Masters! Sec+ is an absolutely must have cert for those in Infosec. I wish you all the best with the exam and let me know if there’s anything I can help you with!

Excellent Teacher, thank you for this sir
Thank you sir, god bless you
excellent! Thank you!
Right now I’m getting my cybersecurity cert by Google on coursera, they go through everything about sec+ they know it as well so they are giving everyone who completes it a discount on the test. In the mean time when I’m doing my delivery job I’m listening to your course on repeat to get everything engraved in my head so a lot of the terminologysticks with me. I’ll be going through this crash course again and take notes once I’m done with my Google cert but I want to say thank you so much for providing this video + part 2. I believe with my Google cert plus some extra sec+ studying I should be able to get the sec+ in the next 3-4 months
Also to anyone reading this….if you think this is hard, change that mindset. The more you surround yourself around a specific idea, plan, topic, etc etc you will eventually become really good at it without even realizing it and start talking in that lingo. So I highly recommend changing the way you do things through the day. I use to play a lot of video games, now I just study for most of my days and game for 30mins - 60 mins. I use to listen to music all day long. Now I listen to how to pass ( specific cert ) classes / cert. like that saying “you are who you surround yourself with” so surround yourself in the profession that you want to be. You got this!
@@blackopszombiekill3r ❤Growth mindset! Love it 🥰 Remember what ET said: “If it was easy anymore would do it” there’s a reason most good Cyber Pro(s) making over 6Figures.
@@blackopszombiekill3r thanks. I needed this 💪🏽💪🏽
Don’t have any IT work experience but I have project experience in college so I will be studying in this intensively to pass this. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to get experience so I’ll have to cram for this. Ideally, I’m going for security+ then the ITF
Why going for Sec+ before ITF?
@@Francois-B-Arthanas I'm a criminology major so sec+ would allow me a fighting chance. I've also done a lot of ctfs but in all sec+ at least give me a step in the door for gov jobs. I really don't want to graduate and work as a 911 dispatcher, its not worth the time all things considered
@@Francois-B-Arthanas I wish I could take it from the basics for the ITF but employers will not hire me if they see that I got the ITF but no work experience. I'm also no longer interested in looking to work in cybersecurity because there are so many more people better than I. That I could do so much more in a field that I specialize in -- research and intelligence.
Hello @francois. Would you happened to have the slides for this class that you would be willing to share? Thanks
Hello David, please reach out on Discord
What are the upcoming dates/times of your live bootcamp sessions?
There’s one coming up on November 20th 2023, please check the website for updated dates.
Do you need to pass the CompTIA Network+ or some other certification before you can do the Security+?
You do NOT, but some knowledge from Net+ is essential for your Cyber career.
Please I would like to ask what is the difference between 601 and 701? Can I also use the 701 practice exams to practice for the 601?
I have started this video to prepare for the sec+ cert. I have one doubt if i follow only your videos with some bunch of practice test is it sufficient to pass the cert ?? Need your guidance on my cert journey!!!
Thanks in advance 😊

Thank you sir.
I’m studying for security+ and I am halfway with this amazing lesson. This video has only 6 lessons. Is there another video for just this could be enough to use as study guid for the exam? Thank you!
Absolutely, here's part two: th-cam.com/video/EaV5pzdzX6M/w-d-xo.html
@@Francois-B-Arthanas thank you so much! And sorry for my stressed language! God bless you!
Thank you I just finished the 1st and was looking for the 2nd one. I appreciate it
Thank you 🙏🏿 I finished part I.
Professor Arthanas, amazing video . Very thorough and clear. I’m new to this sector and have a few questions. When I pass 601 , am I good for 3 years or do I have to take 701 when it comes out? Also is there continuing education or do I take the exam brand new every 3 years ? Apologies for the rookie questions. I look forward to your prompt and positive response
When you pass for 601 you are good for 3 years and there are a lot of ways to renew it, YOU don’t have to take the 701. Taking the CertMaster CE is probably the easiest way to renew it, but I recommend you take the upper-level exam (CySA+, PenTest+, etc. ).
@@Francois-B-Arthanas thank you so much. So continue my 601 studies and pass it before July next year ?
@@Darylarmour Absolutely!!! But but but if you are NOT too far ahead, I’d just wait and take the 701 version (Which has the newest and up-to-date technologies). 601 has a lot of information, that you technically don’t really need/use. But the 701 is more mature and they got rid of a lot of that unnecessary info at the Sec+ level. I’m currently developing a 701 On-Demand course and I am liking what I see in 701.
@@Francois-B-Arthanas thank you so much! I’m not tooooo far ahead . I’m literally on lesson 2 of your 9 hour video. I don’t think there’s any 701 courses yet that I can take and I’d really love to get started in the field so I think I’ll study and take my chances with 601 and the additional courses you suggested so I can try to get an entry level position then work my way up . What do you think ?

Hi Francois. Would I be able to get those Powerpoint slides from you?
I was thinking
the same thing can we buy it

question,
Apple touts secure messaging through their message app with encryption. now of course when we text each other we aren't actively encrypting and decrypting our text. Would that count as homorphic encrptyption?
Homomorphic encryption algorithms are designed to allow mathematical operations to be performed on encrypted data. So think about your medical record, not every doc needs to know everything about everything! They might just need to know what they need to do their job. Google doesn't need to know everything about you when you're using their Google Maps. All they need to know is where you are currently located and where you want to go..... So, Homomorphic is used when privacy is a high concerns.
I can take the test without having IT experience? And also do I need to learn hands on cybersecurity before taking the test? This is all new to me since I have no experience in cybersecurity
You can. I’ve seen a lot people that does and pass. But but but I do recommend you take some time to learn the foundation of IT. Computer Networking, Cloud, IT, basic scripting, etc.
how can I change to sec+ in Certmaster? cuz every time i login to certmaster, it only lead me to the A+ core1
Do you recommend getting certified in A+ before starting Security +? I have completed close to 18-20 hrs worth of training on A+ but is the certification a pre-requisite for Security +?
A+ is not pre-requisite for Sec+, but the knowledge you get from A+ training is important. You can’t secure what you don’t know…. So, understanding your hardware and software will be critical to your success in Cyber. You also must understand networking, cloud, and Windows/Linux. Check this video: th-cam.com/video/QCkA9kM_ff8/w-d-xo.html
i was motivated for like 2 weeks but I keep zoning out every time i try to study for security+ now man idk what to do

Please i want to ask. I am a cyber security degree student. I am currently on my first year at the University. But i would like to take this certification CompTIA Security+ I saw where it is said that the recommendrd experience is at least 2 years. Is that compulsory,? Can anyone prepare for the exam and take it without meeting any of the requirements stated there. I would appreciate a response
Hello Godwin, the short answer is “YES” you can take the exam without having two years of experience in IT. But make no mistakes Cybersecurity is not a foundation career… You need to have some basic understanding of IT to be really good in Cyber. This video might help you understand it a little bit batter: th-cam.com/video/QCkA9kM_ff8/w-d-xo.html
Always here to help, let me know if you have additional questions.
@@Francois-B-Arthanas thank you for your response. I just found out this channel yesterday and i must confess your gentle style of explaining things stands out among all the TH-cam channels i have been visiting and today i am making the decision of priotizing your channel because it is easy to understand cybersecurity and networking concepts through your teachings. I an currently doing an online university degree while studying cyber security degree and my degree will take me 6 years to finish because i can't do a full time as i am working as a barman and would like to transition into cyber security job hopefully by next year June. I don't want to wait for 6 years before i graduate before i can start applying for a role in this field. Like i said my target is June 2024. I believe by That i would have gotten at least some of the basic foundational knowledge and skills needed for an entry level cyber security jobs. that's why i am thinking of taking this CompTIA Security+ but i do not understand what you mean by i should make no mistake as cyber security is not a foundation career. Please Can you explain what you mean here? You then went on and said that i reed to be really good in cyber by recommending the link above which i have just completed watching and in this video you equally mention the same CompTIA Security+ certificate that i said I would like to take which means i am on the right path right ? Because this particular CompTIA Securiy+ certificate will teach me the basic understanding of IT to be really good in cyber. I will really appreciate your response and can't wait to be your student and make you my career mentor as i kickstart my learning and certification journey in this filed of study. I will be happy to enrol in your course soon to help me prepare for this CompTIA Security+ certificate
@@godwinuche4669 What I meant to say is that you’ll be securing networks, clouds, systems, etc. You need to know what they are first before you can secure them.
