I bought the Edge 40 Pro and sold my 6 month old laptop with 16GB ram and 7th gen ryzen - and I'm not regretting it even a bit :) Got myself a 15" touch screen, an external battery if needed for longer works. Although the Edge 40 Pro gives power to my external display and I can go about two hours on just the phone battery. And now with Android 14 I set up the SWAP space to 12GB and now everything I may run is going insane :) With the proper USB HUB (10Gbps) my phone even works properly on my 34" ultrawide @ 3440x1440@85Hz ... not the full 144Hz, but still very impressive :D I don't think I'll be going back to a laptop for my work and leisure anytime soon :D
My laptop is pretty old and i basically use it because I'm just watching videos and using the very basic apps like outlook, internet browsing and that's it, I'm really thinking that having some good input devices is what I need to maybe use my tablet for the sane features or maybe adding a monitor the LG wing, which performs extremely well, it's nice to see more brands are providing a good desktop experience
I bought the razr over the flip specifically for Ready For, as Samsung doesn't allow the flip to use DEX. And the I plug it in... and nothing. So dumb they put a gimped port on it. Sadly I bought mine from a person so not possible to return.
@@rokko_fable search TH-cam for Motorola Ready for resolutions and I've tested the "real, non handicapped" version of their desktop on a dozen different displays going up to 8K!
I am sorry I have a question.... on minute 6:40 you show how you connectet the keyboard, and mouse over the USB-C connector and then the screen over wireless miracast. So you could use it like that. The only issu was that touch diden't work. But on another video of the Nexdock I saw that you can connect the touchscreen as a Bluetooth device. Shouldn't it work then??
TK Bay, do you know what is less laggy for a full screen desktop or gaming experience, a Ready For wired connection to the Nexdock 360, or a wired connection to a modern full function Intel laptop? My guess is that the Nexdock is slightly less laggy because it is simply a USB -C hub and external display connection, while the full laptop connection is more involved with the remote terminal software on the laptop, etc.
When you connect it via USB C -> HDMI, then enter in "Mobile desktop" mode, connect a mouse and a Keyboard. What does the right click on the mouse does? Default "back" from android, or here it behaves as "auxiliary" click?
Have they fixed the mouse hover problem yet? Every time I tried to use ReadyFor, the mouse would work fine, but after a few clicks, the system stopped reacting to mouse cursor hovering over things. So when trying to do something in Notion or LumaFusion or in browser, hovering over a UI element suddenly stopped bringing up a tool tip (or a menu in Notion) which is crucial and is the reason why I had to switch to Dex. I even wrote a bug report to Motorola... I don't have my Edge20 pro anymore to try it myself

I have the nex pad by the same people who make nex dock, you just save me a whole lot of trouble of finding out the hard way thank you. @theniceneighbor ive read that ready for now is now called smart connect. For some weird reason it only works for the 2022 razr and not any since then. It has it in the official website. I dont see it becoming a competitor to samsung dex anytime soon. If youre going to use it the way i described than a galaxy flip is more ideal.
Sad to see that the newer Razr line 40 did not get wired ReadyFor / USB3. Hope they bring it back. The 2022 Version still had it (but is quite ugly). Razr+ with ReadyFor could have been a light weight office solution. Pop it in front of a monitor for video calls + office work.
I still don't understand how you enabled full screen in laptop . It won't let me no matter what I do !! Only Windowed mode ! Everything is updated -Edge 30 Neo
Moto's website has a chart about compatibility, and it says that Ready-for wired is compatible (separate from Ready-for-pc). Maybe it has or will get an update to make it work? Has their been an update on it recently?
It can't be fixed in a software update. The spec sheet for the Razr+ reports the usb c port as usb 2.0 (3.1 is the minimum for ANY video output capabilities). Although, you can use wired accessories (keyboard, mouse, etc) to interact with Ready For on the Razr+, video output is simply not possible. That's most likely why the website says wired compatibility is available on the Razr+.
@@stevepogue1124 I am planning to buy Edge 40 for mobile desktop (it has ready for function). But it does not have video output (USB 2.0). It is fascinating how the Razr plus is basically useless for external connectivity with a cable... If I want to connect a cable to a monitor to use it as a computer I cannot do that. Considering how much it cost, it is mind blowing that you cannot do that, as if I need an app to mirror my phone, why do I need to mirror my phone to start with? I just use my computer ? :) Dex in this case is miles ahead as even the lower tier Samsung devices have that functionality

Ready For sucks on the Razr+. It won't even connect to a simple portable monitor over USB. Laptop, yes. Tablet, yes. Monitor, no. If I have a laptop going or a tablet, why the heck would I need my phone?
What a rip off. I'm returning thiss flip phone --- since my last Motorola Ready For supported 3840x1600, 5120x2160, and the 2880x2560 monitor (LG DUALUP) DEX doesn't adapt to other resolutions, while ReadyFor does
