If you print at least once a week a color page, it's very good. Otherwise it'll cost you more than instant ink and hp+ together. I mean by cleaning heads and flushing ink because of the air bubbles and dry ink caused by no usage you'll fill that waste ink tank fill up after some 3000 pages and when you'll need to print that most important one paper you'll find out your supposedly cheap printer bricked itself out of the blue. On the other hand, if you're printing a few pages a day, like in an office setting, the tank solution is far cheaper and more convenient than any conceivable ink subscription. I've seen an Epson tank still printing perfectly after 50K pages (and one reset at around ~20K)!
No way would I buy a printer and be limited to the number of pages. There's times when I go a month without printing, and then times I need to print out a 100 page document to give to someone.
Hard pass for me. I've been a Brother laser user for the last 15 years, and I just bought my second machine about a year ago. I strictly use off brand toners. The Brother machines are built to last regardless of what brand of ink I use. While I spent a bit more upfront on my hardware, over time I've spent less and had fewer headaches than family and friends that buy a new HP or similar inkjet every 6-18 months.
Why would I want to be forced to run to a store to pickup my printed pages? Not to mention the times I need something right away….and thats still 40% more expensive per page
@@waqasahmed939 I used to have a toner printer, Dell 1130. Toner printers are very reliable, and cheap, if you don't need color. I don't think it's cheaper than refillable ink, but definitely comparable. One drawback is that they use more wattage when running. I run my inkjet ecotank off an 150 watt inverter, which was impossible with the toner printer.
it all depends on how much you print, if like me you may print a single page every month or two, then its not for me, i have a really old laser printer, i've changed the toner cartridge once in the last 20 years, use it's not exactly fast at printing, and i may not be able to find the toner cartridge when i need to fill it again, but i dont feel like i print enough to sign up for a subscription to print, and if i didnt have a printer, i could visit a copy shop to have them print the rare page i would need printed.
Honestly I've never owned my own printer. I used to use my mom's when I needed to print out a shipping label lol. Lately I haven't even needed to, because the post office uses the QR code system and prints labels out for you.
Internet connection is required for a Instant Ink so it can monitor ink levels, but the printer itself is capable of being connected directly to a computer via USB
Why not just purchase a used photocopier, plenty on marketplace and Craiglist I'm sure oh and US has offer up too, for around 200 you can get a fully functional machine that will last you and entire lifetime. HP instant ink is another money grab, as an ex Service Tech for professionals printing Presses, I had a challenge with a fellow friend of mine to attempt fix 8 consumer printers each, he manged to repair 1 and I got 2. No service manuals, attempt to take them apart will often break cheap plastic clips that are only ment to go on and never come off. The fact we both manged to repair 3 machines out of 16 should say enough! Also ink monitoring doesn't even function properly on the consumer printers, it leis half the time to get another cartridge in. To sum it up, I'm disappointed in your review, it's quite biased and should have a big "sponsored by HP to boost their sales"
Instant ink is the way to go hands down. Best bang for your buck. No more worries of running out of ink. No more going to the store only to find the ink you want is not available. Just do it! It's the way to go.
The Epson tank has been a game changer for me.
That’s nice too

@@miaudottk9080 What "Epson tank" printer are you referring to? I'm still using an old 1400, though head needs replaced.

There is no requirement to subscribe to instant ink. Without a subscription it works just like any other printer
There are free apps for scanning documents.

You can print at printshops for 10cents a page. And the price goes down the more you print.

This is awful, screw hp and every company that is doing this.
Is it not dumb when you measure the performance of a printer based on "months" rather than number of pages?
When did I measure performance by months?
Epson Ecotank all the way! Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I don't like subscription services. Unless maybe there was one for chocolate milk.
😂🍫🥛
They're decent
I've got a brother laser printer and the toner works out cheaper. I also don't like a subscription service

You might be able to refill the toner cartridge in a decade or so when it runs low

I received this printer because dad got tired of me emailing him things to print 😂
Hey, it does not print without internet. Not a reliable product.

Has your audience changed?
I’m not sure what you’re asking. Changed from what?

I would say all these sheep must be getting paid by BigInk but I'm guessing you are just thick.
Or you could buy a used photocopier for around 200 bucks and have enough Toner for around 50k pages
