Talking about everything from the current crop of Danish cycling talent to marrying people in his spare time, this episode of The Cafe Ride is not one you want to miss.

As I started listening to Brian talk about cancer patients and the positive effect and the joy it brings by having them engage cycling camps to provide a little relief in their battle to stay alive, I could not help but think about my 10yo daughter who passed away of brain tumor just over 1 year ago. She loved cycling, swimming, and running. I'm an avid cyclist but these days and since she was diagnosed cycling became much more that a pursuit of fitness or a place to connect with friends. Brian, on behalf of all cancer patients and their forever affected families: THANK YOU!

Marcelo Ortigao i ... Brian was a cancer patient with servire cancer - and went through a werry tough time - thats why cancer is a part of his legacy.
@@larsjakobsen6733 thanks for the info. Foundations such as The Flamme Rouge and Make a Wish are not just inspirational but the give patients hope. My daughter Juliana had her wish granted during her ordeal with DIPG, the deadliest pediatric tumor there is. Often these wishes are just a glimpse but they will create memories to last forever. My respect to Brisn and the Flamme Rouge!
Marcelo Ortigao Dear Marcelo, to have a sick child with cancer must be .... out of words. Im a cancer survivor my self and on the day that I Got my diagnose - Brian s book. The last mile, came out. That ment that the Press and a lot of people was aware of the need for cancer patients and their famely and friends - need to speak about the hard part of cancer- fore a long time. I read the book in the onkologig ward - renovering - he is a genuine roulleur - a fighter . Best regards to you and your famely in these C19 times.
There you go Sigma, content with meaning and purpose greater than advertising, a true community piece about Cycling, life and the true fight! This is why this is my favourite Cafe ride and I don't think anyone other than Matt could have carried this piece.
Matt’s cafe rides are probably one of the best things internet has to offer.

Holm is a great guy. As a young kid, his manager car stopped in front of me and my family spectating the tour from the road in Andorra. Holm peeked out from the rolled down window and cracked a mild joke in his excellent humor as to how great it was to see some fellow Danes in these "awfully hot regions". He then stuck out his hand a bunch souvenirs for us and wished us a good holiday. Seeing Holm doing charity work doesn't surprise me. Holm understands the worth of the individual suffering, pays respect to the common fan and also works passionately to improve the rights of an entire new workforce of cyclists. Massive respect to him, truly a lad to be worth a mention.

Brian is on of reasons I startet ridning. That combined with the fact that I have lost both my parentes to cancer it was clear that had to ride La Flamme Rough clothing. Hopefully I`ll be able to support Brians thing for a long time.
My favorite videos on TH-cam. Matt is a great interviewer and his guests on the Cafe Ride have been just as entertaining. It's great to see another side of these cyclists who we have all watched for years. There's always some topic comes up that raises a good laugh. Great fun.
Absolutely agree about acknowledging other riders. The Essex lanes on a Sunday morning are awash with people who are either don't know or are just rude. Also agree with Brian's comment about there being lots of riders who can win. Definitely makes the sport more interesting. Just look at how good sprinters can now climb. That top tube frame pump brings back good memories.
Mr Stephens is a national treasure! You be good to him, Sigma Sports.

This is a cafe ride right out of the top drawer! What great chemistry between Matt and Brian. Thanks also to Sigma Sport who have been my LBS for more than 20 years and continue to innovate (although a lot of the stuff they sell is far beyond my capabilities now!). Matt, maybe see you burning it up around East Molesey?

I dont follow pro cycling that closely so i had no idea who he was and couldnt really understand him for the first 2 mins. at the end of it all, this is probably my favourite cafe ride video thus far and really quite inspirational. Keep up the great content.

When Matt starts these vids with his little wheelie-case it puts me in mind of a lady I used to see around town, she would stay overnight at ones house and had costumes various in the case.

This series is absolutely brilliant, Matt is a legend. One minor criticism though, can’t you put him in kit / bike that is more affordable to the masses? Appreciate that you’re a shop & you need to promote products but I nearly fell off my chair when I clicked on the link in the description. I knew the bike would be expensive but £600 for the shoes?!?!?
They have an automatic clip-in function. That makes them worth every penny. Well to Matt...

Well it's kind of a part of his brand. He is a bricklayer from a tough area outside Copenhagen. He talks about it pretty often and sees himself as a working class heeo.
