  • Le Chateau Frontenac, located in Quebec City, Canada was built in 1893 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. It was built in the grand Chateau style to cater to the World’s elite traveller. It is called the most photographed hotel in the world, and it’s one of the most historic! It was prominently featured in movies such as “I Confess”, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and was the location where Céline Dion was discovered by Sony record executives! The most important role the hotel would play in history would happen during World War ll, however. Two top secret conferences were held here that would help end the war on both fronts. That is, if a young Canadian Sergeant Major can keep a secret…

Thanks, Mary! It was about a two hour plane ride and then a three hour car ride away. However, it felt like being in France!

We are in Quebec city right now. Just walked by the Frontenac and wanted to know more about its role with World War II. Your video was helpful. Thank you so much great production. I really hope

Super cool, I was just there last summer and I had no clue that the Chateau played such an incredible role in WW2!

I know! All in that very tiny rose themed sitting room! It is very incredible. If you get a chance watch “I confess” by Alfred Hitchcock. It was filmed entirely in Quebec City and the Chateau Frontenac played a starring roll in the movie! Plus, it’s very good! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
