Man, if I hadn’t just bought a 40XX two weeks ago, I’d be all over this. But I don’t need two retro handheld powered by the same chipset. Still, thanks for the video about it.
You're still in good shape. I like the 40XX. It has a bigger screen and analog sticks which this one doesn't, so it's more like a PSP/Vita. But I'll admit I usually reach for the 35XXSP. I never had the original GBA, but I really enjoyed the SP.
Wow, I have exactly 4 Anbernic handhelds with the H700 chipset and had the same thought process. Though I do want to sell my white RG40XXV to justify my RG34XX purchase. GBA is my childhood man...I need this 😂
This is awesome. This remake GBA designs are my favorites cause this is what I would give people for a retro handheld. And if they kept it around $60 to $40 dollars. They would sell like hotcakes. Thanks as always for the videos, ETA. Hope you have an great Christmas everyone.
I might have to grab the indigo. I went to buy a gba as a kid and the only color available was indigo which i didn't want but i needed the gba that night so i ended up getting it.
Anbernic XX OS. It's a Linux based OS that uses RetroArch for emulation. I don't know if you can add your own emulators; but, you really don't need to. Adding games to the stock OS is insanely simple. Stick the card in a card reader, plug it into a phone or computer, and simply drag and drop your games to the corresponding folder. Box art is equally as simple. Make sure the image has the same name as the game it represents and then put it inside the applicable box art folder. The OS will handle linking them automatically. Note 1: This OS is optimized for a lot more systems than you'll actually see on first boot up. For example; my XX-SP didn't come with any Saturn games. However, once I put a Saturn game in the Saturn folder the icon in the main menu lit up and I could play it. Note 2: This OS really does not like BIN and CUE. For your disc based systems you'll need to make sure that your newly added games are in CHD format. BIN and CUE games with only one BIN will work; but, multi-BIN games won't. The Anbernic XX handhelds also have some very good custom OS options that add a few more features. I'm personally just rolling with stock on my XX-SP. It's slick and does what I need it to do.
I've been looking for a Nintendo GameBoy Advance for a long time, but haven't bought it because I can emulate GBA games on my phone and PC and Switch have GBA on NSO, but it's so awesome to see there's a Game Boy Advance inspired retro handheld console RG34XX what looks so beautiful defienitily red, green and purple ones I might get the purple one and I would love to play old Pokemon games like Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald and Sonic Advance 1-3 on RG34XX GBA retro handheld this is what I've been looking for thank you so much Eta! 😍❤💙💚
My first console was the ds lite but i also had a gba at some point and i loved the form factor! Dimm screen and non reusable batteries made me stick to the ds lite though mostly..
this looks very nice, I wonder about the legality of that specific design though, it looks exactly like a gba, I already have the XX SP variant so it doesn't make that much sense to get but man do I want it
It is such a silly thing to be mad at another handheld with the same chip! Some of them play at different aspect ratios and resolutions and are a different size with different screens. They suit different people with different hands. That like different games. The chip plays up to PS1 perfectly. They are RETRO HANDHELDS, BUT YOU ARE ALL WAITING FOR THE NEXT MORE ADVANCED CHIP.... THAT DOES THE SAME DAM THING!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
These devices don't take a month to plan, design and set up manufacturing. Surely they can give us a road map of what they plan to release so we can pick and choose with more information.
Thank you this is best review that doesn't throw the XXSP under ther bus. I own two XXSP handhelds & it plays my psp library noticeably well. The XXSP is perfect for GBA. Feel to disagree, idgas.
As a GBA lover, I kinda hate this, at least for the current price. At 50$, sure, but 80$ for a bootleg GBA? Hell no, for that you can almost get a real GBA and mod it.

Not me with 4 retro handhelds powered by the same chipset

The perfect Christmas gift for my brother. Thank you!
Cheers bro!

Is crazy how good the design is, a true Nintendo classic. The performance is great, almost overkill 😅
I got the RG35XXSP last month for an early Christmas present, and then this came out lol. It’s on my Christmas list as well.
I'm so sad they chose not to make a glacier blue variant. 😢
After some time they will probably come up with more colors just likr they did with the 35xx SP.
I agree. They f'd up not releasing a glacier
lol they did not F up they’re testing the waters and they’re already selling out of their colors now. They’re most likely gonna add more afterwards
@@roberthunter7247 prolly couldn't due to licensing issues with Nintendo.
This; but, Arctic White for me. That was my GBA as a kid.
Finally. Havent been so excited for a long time.
How is a company able to launch a new device every month? :O
Because they actually care and give what the users want.
China sees 🤑🤑🤑
@MTheConqueror because they're using the same chipset, software etc. It's not a new console really, it's the same console, in a different shell.
@@Tuckingferrible in this case with a different screen too though, 3:2 devices are rare, here you get the most out of the GBA aspect ratio.
the red looks nice, id like a green one.
Beautiful !!!! thanks for sharing
Breathtaking design.😊
Thx, got this 1 for my x-mas gift.
Never had a gba myself, but played Doom or something on it at a friends, always thought it was the coolest looking one, even after the SP came out.
So what sort of OS do these devices run on? Is it a Linux distro? Can I install any emulator and load my own ROMs on it?

Would be interesting testing the performance on N64, but this kind of device is the console of our dreams when I was a child
This might be the one that convinces me to finally get one. Especially since my Freeplay Zero is getting long in the tooth.
Still waiting for 3DS version from anbernic
You're not getting an H700 XX that can run 3DS; but, theoretically they could make a 3DS style Android handheld. I'd like one of those.
My first console was the ds lite but i also had a gba at some point and i loved the form factor! Dimm screen and non reusable batteries made me stick to the ds lite though mostly..
Thick, big.
It’s like they think of a new handheld idea every seven seconds
Glad I skipped the sp, this is the best gba for factor so far!
진짜 gba가 나왔네요? 👍
Does it support link cable function via Bluetooth or wifi?
Yes you can host and join with another device for games like Pokémon.
@@seanbrent4245 yep, Anbernic showcased that in their reveal trailer.

Tempting, but I'm waiting for a dual screen device though.
Is it possible to use Bluetooth audio eg AirPods with this?
It has bluetooth 4.2 so yeah

Really cool. Would love a dusl screen Game&Watch format where you csn play thise gsmes, DS games, and if its powerfull enough, 3DS as well
What game is it at 4:57?
Colin Mcrae dirt Rally 2 PS1 5:24

Nice!
How many devices does this company pump out as of late looks cool but.... im happy with my steam deck at the moment.
Nintendo about to release the patent for the gba and then sue ambernic 😂😂😂😂
It failed the Contra test for Russ.
I want it but £80 for the same old h700 chipset is ridiculous

It's business tactics, never let them know your next move.
You’d be surprised at the level of competition and subversion in the Chinese market. Don’t reveal your hand to the untrusted.
Hii eta, can you make a comparison with a low end windows laptop and its performance on windows vs linux mint or Ubuntu.
Who plays on the tv with this??
Me
@suhtangwong why?

lovely device
Why don't they sue this Anbernic yet? They are literally copying everything. 😂
The design patent has expired😂

Yes

You can just see that it has four, only at the end though, much easier to see on the blue model
