It seems amazing to someone who is sold on Christianity, but to someone like me it is amazing how anyone can actually believe 'the virgin birth' I can't see how anyone can buy into it. No disrespect meant, just really sounds like you have to be totally innocent to believe such things.

@V_George @V_George I have it and no it isn't. It's centuries old. Not accessible at all. Unless you still live in the 17th century and speak and think that way. Also corrupted in a few places on top of that. Once you've looked at the Hebrew original you'll know you can't rely on the KJV.
The KJV is based on the Masoretic Text, just like my Koren Tanakh is. Same source. Difference is the Tanakh is readable and understandable whereas the KJV is deliberately archaic to put peole off reading it, so that the Church can tell you what it means by cherry picking and taking verses out of context.
The Koren version has the Hebrew original on the left of every single page. Does your KJV? And if not, why not? Ever wondered?

@@V_George Beware of Books that add or subtract to what is in the Tanakh Jewish scriptures.
God said the first commandment of God is "God is one" and do not add or subtract from the word of God (for example by adding God is "three in one" or by adding Antichrist or by adding fallen angels).
Do not let your knowledge come from books like the KJV Bible, Book of Enoch, Book of Jubilees and Book of Revelation and the Epistle of Jude 1:6 which contradict Tanakh because both the Gospel (Gospel of Matthew 5:17 - 5:20 and Gospel of Matthew 23:1 - 23:3) and the Quran (Quran 2:40 - 2:41 and Quran 5:68) confirm Tanakh is the truth from God for example teachings about fallen angels contradict the Tanakh (Torah and Prophets and writings) meaning books like the Book of Enoch did not come from God because the Book of Enoch and similar books contradict God in Tanakh Hebrew scripture where angels always obey God and angels never rebel against God and angels never fight with each other in heaven or fight with each other on the Earth and angels never have intimate relations with woman and Satan was never a rebellious fallen angel meaning all such teachings are not from God.
      .
Giants in the KJV Bible is a wrong translation of the Hebrew word Nephilim which means powerful people like kings, and princess and judges who fell from the mercy of God (because of their wicked behaviour when they forced women to have children with them) and also comes from the Book of Enoch and Book of Jubilees which is not accepted as canonical scripture by most Jewish and Christian sects.
      .
The Book of Enoch and Book of Jubilees is not accepted as canonical scripture by most Jewish sects because it mentions fallen angels which contradicts the teachings in Tanakh Jewish scripture where angels always obey God meaning angels never fall from the mercy of God because angels never disobey God and angels never fight with each other in heaven or on the earth.
      .
In Tanakh Jewish scripture angels never rebel meaning all Old Testament Bibles with mistranslations of the Hebrew were not inspired by God and all books that mention fallen angels were not inspired by God but followed ideas contained in Books like the Book of Enoch which mentions fallen angels and is not accepted in Judaism because it contradicts Tanakh Jewish scripture where angels are created to be the messengers between God and His creation meaning they never rebel.
      .
Anything that contradicts the Tanakh is not canonical.
In Tanakh angels always obey God therefore all stories about fallen angels contradict the Torah and are rejected because the word of God cannot contradict meaning anything that contradicts Tanakh is not inspired by God.
      .
Old Testament Bibles are Christian translations of Jewish scripture and are not used in Judaism because most contain wrong translations of Hebrew words and different verse numbers and wrong tenses.
Jewish people use the Tanakh Jewish scripture.

I received my Stone edition of the Tanach and decided to look up these chapters. The christian new testament is somewhat abridged. It changes the meaning from editing. Yes Rabbi Singer says this but there is nothing like reading it for yourself.
Something about myself, I started going to church during my deployment to Iraq and when my spouse passed away became more involved.
All of my life I have had a calling to be Jewish. I believe I have not so distant ancestors that were Jewish. I have lost my faith in the Christian Church. What sort of God is spilt up into three equal parts but is still one? If they were one, why do they talk to each other?

Rabbi Singer, thank you for this and your other videos. I was raised in a dual-faith household, but ultimately I found my way to Judaism. There is a richness in tradition and diversity of thought and debate within Judaism that genuinely would leave the vast majority of Christians, Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant alike, gasping for breath. And I believe for most, they would find the familiarity of the stories, but diverse difference in their interpretation, disorienting. Because Christianity tends to flatten the Tanakh to just one use and aim: the Christ and his justification. While in Judaism they are given complete dimension, in all dimensions, because they get to stand on their own.
At least as it appears to me when I read the New Testament, on its own terms, Christianity presents as an oddly dualistic narrative superimposed onto Judaism. From its structure to what it says and how, the New Testament feels like how Ancient Greek and Romans, perhaps somewhat knowledgeable about aspects of Judaism but not entirely understanding of it, would try to interpret it and find for themselves a place within it. Is it a surprise then that Christianity feels so Roman? Jesus comes not as Messiah but as Christ; a condemnation to the Jews but a light to the Empire. And remarkably, it’s the Jews who get the blame while Pontius Pilatus is just a good Roman Procurator dealing with the unruly Jewish rabble (a very Roman bureaucratic perspective).

@@swaterman2017You should use Tovia Singer on Isa. Based on his assertions that the Jewish Messiah must be from the tribe of Judah and the only way for a Jewish child to inherit his tribe is from the father (Ezra 2:59 and Numbers 1:18)
Thus, because Isa doesn't have a father, he cannot be the Jewish Messiah.
Jesus has no problem. I've found evidence that an adopted father can pass his tribe to a son.
I love turning the tables on Muslims who follow this false rabbi. Because if one does research, one will find a bunch of evidence from Jewish sources themselves refuting Singer.
BTW, I'm pretty certain that 2 Muslims who followed Singer and tried to destroy the NT, have apostotized from Islam because of me 😂
Heck, Singer helped me go from an atheist to become a Christian

@@lynmills6436 Thank you for the response, I have been watching this Rabbi to get a better perspective of why the Jews still don't accept Jesus.
I opened my Bible and read all the scriptures you sent me and in my response I would say that as far as
Exodus 32:30-35 goes Moses could not forgive them of their sins because he is not the Messiah.
      As for Deuteronomy 24:16
      Ezekiel chapter 18
Unless you are saying that you are now without sin or have never committed a sin, both of which would be a lie, then this still applies to you and only reminded me of
Romans 3:23-25 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteous for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.
I looked at Jeremiah 31:39-30 and all I got out of that was if you read the next two verses you see God's promise of the new covenant.
And yes you are correct no man can die in behalf of your sins. Jesus was not a man, he is God that became man.
Luke 5:24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath the power upon earth to forgive sins
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

It's interesting that when the Christian bishops coalesced in the early 4th Century around forming a unified Church, they excluded what they called, Gnostic teachings. However, Christians still carry Gnostic ideas and if you want to pursue a Gnostic lifestyle, you could join a Monastery or one of the clerical orders where you would have to renounce things of this world. One thing I've learned about Gnosticism is that, by nature, it cannot build institutions of any meaningful size. They're too obtuse for that. Institutions are built around orthodoxy because the mindsets have to be commonly shared among greater numbers of people.

Wow, what an answer. However, it was a mystery to anyone who did not seek out the knowledge. God has always wanted a personal relationship with his children and that is the reference that Yeshua was giving. He wanted people to search for Him and follow Him in order to learn about Him and the gospel. That is why the disciples knew the mystery, because they were seeking and following Yeshua. The same concept that God put forward in the Old Testament in Deut. 29:4, Isa 6:9&10, Isa. 44:18, and Jer 5:21. It is the same as someone asking a Rabbi about scripture, seeking out knowledge in order to have a closer relationship with God. Yeshua said "seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open".
As far as noone thinking that Yeshua was the Messiah until after He died is incorrect. His disciples thought he was, Pontius Pilot called Him Messiah, even the Jewish leaders punished Him for calling Himself the Messiah, so it wasn't a new concept after He died.

The quote from Mark about listening and not hearing is from Isaiah 6:9-10, a pretty scary text.
It always struck me as odd that Jesus always tells people not to go tell around that he's the Messiah, until it finally dawned on me why. In the end, he couldn't even trust his disciples, who completely lost their heads once they realized that he was the messiah: The people would have risen in revolt, and it would have ended in a terrible massacre.

Wow, this is HUGE! And so brilliant! Wow, this is so brilliant. What insight to see it from the inside out and understand the underlying psychology. And then to clearly demonstrate that the entire apologetic sensibility and rationale of the NT is completely contradictory to and undermined by Tanach - wow! Why can't christians hear this?? It's so clear! The Bible says the real messiah will be a mystery to NO ONE when he arrives!
It's interesting also that the NT states that if rulers had this alleged "gnosis," they never would have killed JC. But isn't the killing/death of JC that which provides the substance or content to the gnosis itself,? I.e., the "knowledge" that JC died for everyone's sins? Without the death of JC, what would the so-called "gnosis" then represent? Gnosis of what? JC as "savior?" But JC wouldn't have been the savior if he hadn't been killed and thereby supposedly died for everyone's sins. No gnosis of anything related to what they claim it constitutes could exist. The failure to put him to death would therefore invalidate not only JC as the "savior," but the sine qua non of the alleged "gnosis" itself. Lol, it's too convoluted by far and, as usual when dealing with christianity, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. 🤣 Leave it to Rabbi Singer to uncover one of the most glaringly ridiculous mistakes underpinning the entire christian religion! It not only contradicts Tanakh, it even completely contradicts itself.
Rabbi Skobac, btw, also makes the excellent and related point that at his trial, JC claims that he never kept anything secret from the world (John 18:20: "I have spoken openly to the world [LIE].... I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple [LIE].... I have said nothing in secret [LIE])," in direct contradiction to this continual theme of keeping everything secret. I'm sure Rabbi Singer is familiar with that argument. But this is a whole other level! By definition there's no gnosis without JC dying (because the gnosis is of JC as savior), and if the rulers had had gnosis, they wouldn't have killed him and made him a savior because they knew he becomes the savior by being killed? Lol, it's too absurd by far.
And underlying everything, come to think of it, is the subtle or not-so-subtle, but typically antisemitic propaganda of the NT, in that the implication is that if not to kill him signifies (completely illogically, as we've just seen) that one has gnosis, then necessarily to kill him means you don't have this "gnosis." And who do they blame for killing him? 😂 So yeah, the poor Jews don't have "gnosis," see how wrong they are? 🤣
    What. A. Scam. 🤣

For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says,
‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. For truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it" (Matthew 13:10-17).

At a very low point in my life, when I gave up trying, dat I hd a spiritual experience which changed me. It was similar 2 d Buddhist Vipassana experience. Now I cud understand what Jesus n Paul were trying 2 convey. Born again, Born of d Holy Spirit, Living by Faith, eyc
Now Paul, Jesus, God the Son, or Messiah, or d church; whether they really spoke what they did etc is unimportant. My experience was primary.
I do try 2 think how my experience fits into Christianity or d world dat I know, but dats secondary. It won't matter if scholars prove one day dat Jesus was a myth. Coz now my point of reference is my very own experience.
Roy Masters of the Foundation of Human Understanding has a great take on this. He doesn't tell u abt God or anything. He starts with an observation exercise.

Quite a few New Testament scholars have suggested that Mark's gospel was written to be read as an introduction to Paul's letters, and so it makes out that the people who knew Jesus in his lifetime were very stupid and didn't understand him at all, Jesus didn't tell them who he was, and his own family were against him. So only Paul knew through his visions who Jesus really was, and the other group who want to keep the Torah, the "people from James" as Paul calls them, are completely wrong even though they knew Jesus in his lifetime. Thus Mark's gospel was written as propaganda for Paul's version against the other group (same with Acts).
