Primer may help a bit but mold release agents inhibit any type of paint including primers... but hey if it’s been working for you guys then that’s all that matters. I’m just a bit paranoid and like to ensure nothing happens to a model that I’ve spent a lot of time and effort on.🙂
i think in this case it works because it makes his eye's fierce and bright - perfect for painting weathered individuals that still regain a fiery and determined soul
mate, NEVER use pure white for the whites of eyes. Do offwhite base (i prefer very light grey in blue undertone), do the pupils and then do 1-2 pure white dots around the pupils for final highlights.
Thanks for the videos I know I don't often comment but I do watch these while I am working in the shop, and wanted to chime in and say thanks.
Very brave to show this as a step by step warts and all. Really looking forward to this! Great start and Youngs miniatures are first class.
The steps you follow to paint the eyes is somehow the oposite of the usual way, but you are right!, it works better!!! Thank you!!!!!
it would be great to see you painting another Young model! Thank you
Wow the master of the face😎😎😎👍👍👍
Realistic good painting 👍
Obrigado pela partilha!
SW M, did I miss a step, did you wash all the pieces before painting ?
No don't think so, just blasted the parts with air in the booth, then sprayed.
Resin parts should be washed to remove the mold release agent. I’ve seen paint flake off resin that hasn’t been cleaned properly.
Yes, that's often mentioned but have to say, never happened to us, maybe because we use a base primer coat? Just tend to blast it and get cracking.

btw keep up the great content I do enjoy what you guys are doing.🙂👍🏼
Rather than white on the eyes, I think going one of the lightest greys is better, it can help reduce eye popping and looks better.
