Hello. I bought Katherine. She looks great. I have a question. How I change her hands? all her hands are hollow and her default hands have a peg. I am really afraid to pull it out as I might break that and I dont have an spare part. Any suggestions? thanks
Hi there! Heating up the hands lightly with a hairdryer and pulling out the pegs should do the trick. I'd also recommend using a pair of pliers for that extra firm grip (the kind with the crimper tip, not the cutting ones!). When the hands are all warmed up, just gently pull with the pliers by the peg. I was super lazy so I just pulled the pegs using pliers without heating up the hands. Sadly there are no extra wrist pegs so the ones in the default hands are all we got. So if yours feel like they are super stuck, go with the hairdryer trick! Hope that helps, and good luck!
@@ElbearToys Thanks for your reply. I managed to pull the peg out using the pliers as you said (no need for the hairdryer Thank God). Wish the head was easy to remove. Thanks.
nice review Elbear. i must keep an eye out for future releases of more figures from this company, nice character designs, gorgeous figure , nicely detailed accessories. im totally ok with the sculpted hair .some of these rooted hair headsculpts can be tricky if the hair isnt properly tamed . The movable eyes are a nice touch and implemented well here.
Thank you so much for watching! And that's true, if they went with rooted hair, it would be a real pain to get to the movable eyes. Asmus Toys' Gandalf the Grey 2.0 is like that. I shudder every time I have to mess with it 😟 Rine and Tache are next in line for this series, which i8Toys just released a month or so ago. So if you're interested, now would be a great time to track one down. Good luck!
I was stoked to have been able to buy one months after it was released from my fave online shop at SRP. I was surprised they 1 popped up in stock and bought it immediately.
I am so glad I got this at release. I still have not opened it since I do not have the space but, I love seeing the reviews on this amazing figure. The sculpt, moveable eyes, outfit really come together well and it looks like a joy to pose. Are you going to get the rest of this line?
Thank you so much for watching! The visuals and execution were superb, which makes this piece that much more fun to pose! I'm all in for this series, but the retailer I ordered from seems a little slow with the stock. Last I checked, Rine and Tache were released last month, but I have yet to have any updates. Hopefully they'll come in soon 🤞
OneSixthKit, but I don't think it's the retailer's problem because some stores still have this on preorder, so we shall see. Interesting to note that some stores who used to have Rine and Tache for preorder now don't even have the listing anymore. I'm guessing their batch has all been received and fulfilled 🤷
Been looking for this everywhere but can only find scalpers on ebay. I don't understand why companies don't produce more units of their products. It's as if they don't like money.
From what I can gather, small to medium sized manufacturers like this one actually loose money on re-issues unless there's a VERY huge demand for it. This is because they don't have a lot of resources, so re-issuing an old product means they'll have to put their next project on hold. Plus, they have to keep the quality consistent with the 1st batch too. Fully matured manufacturers like Hot Toys have the capacity to release multiple figures in the same period, so they can afford re-issues. Not to mention, they have a wide network of trusted distributors and legions of loyal collectors who are ready to gobble up anything they put out. And they know the aftermarket prices are crazy so re-issues make sense for them. Having said all that though, I still hope i8Toys will re-issue this one. If not, I'd say Rine or Tache (the follow up entries in the Serene Hound line) are not bad at all, and that's for both the quality and the current market price. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching~
@@ElbearToys Thanks for the explanation. I just get so salty when I see people selling this for USD 1,000 that I just wanna kill them :) Have a good one.
I'm so annoyed I'm only now getting into figures, I think Katherine is my favorite from this series too lol. maybe in the future when I have the money for collecting I'll find her
If this counts as an upside, these figures are static, but what you can do in the future is worth so much more than what these figures will cost. Keep at it, friend! Nothing is out of reach when you're ready 😉 Thank you so much for watching~
Ah, the torso is made of soft rubber with plastic joints inside. The articulation is not very robust, but combined with the leg bend, you do get a lot of range. I do apologize for continuously glossing over torso movements for these i8Toys figures. This will be rectified in future reviews.
Oh yes. This is one of my earlier reviews...and yikes did I forget to cover a lot of things. But yeah, the hips and legs have a good range of motion to them. Rine/Tache (the next in line of this series) have the same body setup as Katherine so they have the same range of motion. I've copied the timestamp for Rine/Tache's review where I demo'd the leg spread. th-cam.com/video/W-QUX7clavQ/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
I knew she looked familiar! Honestly she and Sophia could be in the same team together with their design. How does she stand against other 1/6 scale? Sophia was still big even though she was supposed to be smaller than the huge Killer Instinct size. Once again I want to compliment your diverse choice in collection. I love original figures especially good looking ones like these.
Hi friend! Thanks for asking! I can't believe I forgot the size comparison segment on this vid! The heavily stylized physique on the Original Effect bodies made them a bit taller than the usual 1/6 scale figures, but that's not an issue for Katherine as she blends in very well with other standard female Hot Toys or TBLeague figures. I'm very thankful they stuck to realistic proportions over stylistic ones for this line 🙏 And thanks again for the appreciation! Last time we had prominent original series was back when 3A was still around. So I hope i8Toys keeps this line going!
Thank you for the review! I was just about to sell it on ebay as its price is nearing $1000. But after seeing your review I decided to keep it! Thanks !😅
Oh definitely keep it (unless you're happier with the cash 😉). But that's the thing with this release...it's easy to let it go but it's not always easy to re-acquire if you change your mind down the road. Happy collecting~
Hahaha yeah the army green boots is a little out of place without the coat. I think i8Toys knows this because the next two entries in the series have boots that match the uniforms.

Really like the shine on her lip gloss! Not a fan of the color of her boots though.
