    I gave up on the Bone Tool because I had to nest something within it and it wouldn't let me without major headaches. It's probably me doing something wrong but I just couldn't grasp it. :(

  • @ReaperSound
    @ReaperSound 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Not really a question but a tip. If your using the Bone tool in between the bone itself go to properties and you can sort of limit the angle instead of a free rotation. essentially making knee and elbow joints.

    When you're working with the bone tool and you want to move something but you don't want it to move the tip, you can use a kind of a pushpin to immobilize some parts of the body. For example when you are moving the arms or the legs, you can put that pushpin in the shoulders or in the hips so that the arms/legs don't move in that part and it doesn't comes out of the body. I'm always doing that.
    Btw you look skinnier :P

    Hi Jazza ! I'm sure you said it in a tutorial but I don't know where, sorry : Why do you use flah CS5.5 and not CS6 or CC ? (hope you'll se that comment ^^)

    • @PurplyCloud
      @PurplyCloud 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      IWantSumCrusha In the second video of this channel, Jazza implicitly said that it's pretty easy to crack adobe programs, which is true.. So I think that (at least for his videos) he could do it. And I said also that to know, if possible, what are the differences and what's the "best" version ?
      P.S : thanks for answering =)

    • @nefm
      @nefm 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      PurplyCloud The "Best" version? Well, Professional 8 has a bunch o' brush sizes, and it has everything basic (IMHO) for animation, while newer versions seem to focus on ActionScript. I've heard good things about CS6 tho.

    Don't use the bone tool. It limits you way more than it can help you. I know its disappointing, but this kind of short cut is not used in big animation studios because it is more trouble than its worth.

    • @IsasHappyHour

      Kaiser9321 -_- what do you think. Some big budget animators don't even use flash at all. But if they do, they either go the lazy way and use tweening (any Seth Mc. Farlane show and the simpsons) or they hand draw it to make they're $2,000 + animation set worth it.

    It sucks that I don't have this on my version of flash, I only have CC 2014 and I heard about this and it sounded really helpful since I'm in the middle of making a stickman fight and I was doing it frame by frame and I thought this would be really useful.

I'm certainly going to have to learn how to use all of flash's tools effectively to have a shot of making something of decent quality. Luckily channels like your's are around.

    I think your armature is flawed. You placed the first joint on the foot and worked your way up, which means that the bone hierarchy for the leg is the wrong way around and won't animate properly. How do you fix this?

    You're absolutely right though its a terrible tool. And once you do this you have this object in a Motion Tween instead of a nice classic tween and you gotta switch between them... ffs. lol

  • @TafariMosi
    @TafariMosi 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't use the Bone Tool either but for limb control,, you can actually keep i.e., the leg from going into the opposite direction by clicking bone tool properties and in joint rotation you can set the constraints and this will keep your arms and legs from bending in the opposite direction by setting the degree angles. Hope that helps

  • @ThomasSpettel

    • @Jazza

      yes, but because there is a limit of 1 pivot per movie clip, I needed the pivot for the chest to be closest to the shoulders so their rotation wasn't screwed up

      You could also make a 1 frame tween.
      Other than that, no, you can't.

    It's better to start at the hip and branch off, making the hip the main movement bone.

  • @BartoloAnsaldi
    @BartoloAnsaldi 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Jazza, you can constrain the joints in a more natural movement, so it becomes less painful to animate the body. In the book "How to cheat in Flash" there are some very good explanations on how to use this tool, but if you are interested in this kind of animation I think After Effects is your best option.

  • @JordanKiener

    Thanks Jazza! I agree that the majority of the time this isn't the way to go, but it will have it's uses! I'm animating a guy playing guitar, and this will help with the strumming movement of just his right hand (with fretting hand/arm done with both tweens and fbf). Thanks for sharing!

    Using bones is really useful for stick figures, and can make an animation for them extremely fast and easy, but it can cause some trouble. Also, there is a bone tool - tool that allows you to say what parts of the body you want to be affected when you move a certain bone, removing some of the weird deformities.

      The bone tool can make South Park style animation really well and save a ton of time, but obviously it's not even a mere shadow of traditional free-hand animation at all. 2d Bones are extremely limited, even more so in Flash.
