Restringing for the first time is scary but when you are done it's fun right and so satisfying! But I think having a second person pull the string tight helps. From my experience using the hair tie method is only very temporary. I guess because the hair tie elastic is inferior. Your doll (and you) are adorable. Enjoy!

Clarke is so gorgeous, and you did a great job on getting her all tightened up! I just did my first ever restringing today too... fixed up my Lindsey and I was terrified haha!

That’s always my worry too! I would definitely recommend watching a ton of videos on it. If you still aren’t comfortable after that I would maybe suggest buying a cheap tlc doll to practice on.

I just watched a video and she is a “newer” doll it looks like, (I bought her as a TLC second hand on eBay so she has no body tag) so I don’t have to boil the limbs, which makes me feel better. What did you use to pinch close the metal pieces? I need to buy one of those. I just wanna make sure I’m using the right stuff.
