I bought Felicity second hand after convincing myself I wanted her but her eyes are starting to scare me, and a majority of my collection is modernized and every doll looks good modernized but her. I may try changing her clothes and seeing if she grows on me but I'm not convinced

I have a large collection similar to yours and I totally relate to the TMs just taking over! For the longest time I only had a couple because I was focusing on getting dolls I always wanted (historicals) and some GOTYs I had missed out on when I wasn't collecting. And then things just went nuts with TMs! I also never thought I would have acquired so many CYOs and customs, but they have also taken up a big part of my collection (more than 1/3 of it!). I really struggle to say goodbye to any of my dolls, so it's tough to downsize, but I feel a bit overwhelmed by all of them and really need to let a few more go. I can't wait to see your new dolls!

I totally agree on focusing on what you want your collection to look like! I’ve been focusing on only getting girl of today dolls and outfits because I truly miss that quality and the dolls were so pretty!

I love the outfit! The GAP hoodie, shoes, and skirt are super similar to pieces I wore in middle school around 2008-2011, super nostalgic. My box, also from GAP, was crushed in the same way! Oh GAP.

Agreed on limiting the collection! As tempted as I'll always be to have a completionist collection (aka all the GOTYs and all the historicals), I know myself and how stressed out I get when I hit a certain point of accumulation with any collection or just clutter in general. So I've been trying to be strict with myself and wait a while before buying a doll to be really sure that I LOVE them.

I have also considered down sizing, but I am too busy. If I do down size, the truly me dolls would also be my first dolls to go.

i completely get you on the truly me dolls. i don't have that many, but am contemplating selling most of them just because the attachment is not there unfortunately :( i gravitate mostly towards the character dolls so i think that's where my collection is headed.

I agree with you on limiting your collection. I am keeping my historical dolls but planning to downsize my girl of the year and some truly me dolls. I have about 72 dolls and it is hard to enjoy them. Space is also limited I don’t have any CYO dolls but I plan to buy one. Last year I did not get the girl of the year but got some of her collection to use with the truly me dolls I am keeping. I plan to do the same thing this year. It is a process and sometime difficult to decide which dolls are going. Good luck on your journey with your doll collecting

I can totally relate! This year I have been focused on expanding my historical collection. I do want to get Claudie, Cecile, and Marie Grace eventually though. I am quite satisfied with my GOTY dolls, and I have sold the ones I don’t use. I only have one truly me who was my first doll, made to be my look alike so her personality matches mine. However, I want to get 121 because I had joss and never used her, but I love the joss mold. The only thing is, I’m struggling to think of a personality and name for her because that isn’t really my thing either.

I remember the online Benefits Sale. Very nerve-racking. There was a CYO I wanted so bad because she was almost identical to a CYO I wanted to make (except I wanted light blue eyes instead of blue eyes). I had a list of 7 CYOs I would try for (the first 5 all had retired hair color or wigs). I knew I wouldn't get all of them, but I wanted the first one because she was a light red, and light red was gone from CYO. I'm still ticked they haven't brought it back. I did get my first choice! Then, I was able to get a second CYO, my 5th choice (wig with bangs; same wig style as my first CYO but brown hair). I also remember dreading the call about shipping. It wasn't as bad as I thought either. I was very disappointed though in hearing how people treated the volunteers doing the online Benefits Sale. Harassing them over why they hadn't been called yet, complaining about shipping prices, etc. Bad form. The guy who called me was very nice. I was a later phone call (beyond a week or two from the start of phone calls). I didn't mind. They said it was going to take a while. It's still disappointing to hear how people acted. I'm hoping the ones who did that weren't collectors. Hopefully, they were resellers (when I say that, I mean people who have no interest in these dolls and just bought them to sell online, not meaning a collector who bought a few to sell in order to fund their collecting). I would hope collectors have more class.

Anna and Elsa are my favorite Disney princesses. I would have to patiently wait until the play line comes out. It will give me some time to save anyways since I will he buying both sisters. I have spent $300 on a doll ONCE and ONLY once! lol. Above anything else, I am a Britney Spears fan and collector. I have an in box limited edition porcelain Britney doll. Worth every penny.

I completely agree that no one cares about the crystals and that these should have been play line. But now that we have a play line Rapunzel, I can see that they will most likely bring out play line Elsa and Anna next year. So, yep, I agree that we should "let it go". :) Thanks for sharing!

Yes!! I totally agree. Lot of people don’t care if the crystals are real or not, and I would prefer if they used rhinestones and made the price lower. I hope they continue with the playline dolls tho. I think rereleasing Rapunzel was a good idea. However, I’m not sure if I will ever get a Disney doll. I love Disney but I would rather collect the characters original to AG (GOTY, and historical). I feel like if I got a Disney doll, collector or playline, the doll would just sit on a shelf and I wouldn’t really use her. I’d have to choose Anna between the two, I like her outfit better and I actually love the red hair and joss mold combo. If I ever make a custom doll those are the features I would use. I also wish crystals were used for Elsa’s bodice rather than sequins, to me the sequins feel cheaper.

I completely agree that it was nonsensical and maybe even a little mean of AG to make the top two most popular among children Disney princesses part of the line with a paywall almost no parent could climb. I hope we get a playline version like we just did with rapunzel, it only makes sense.

I think they’re great dolls, but not worth $310 each. They should be sold together with a combined price of $300. Just saying! 😊

Let it go is a hilarious response. The new Repunzel doll is a great price and looks almost the same as the collector doll.

This was a fun video. I try to balance my perspective and appreciate things they offer now that they didn't have before (mainly the CYO option) but yeah...I would LOVE for them to have their magazines again and larger catalogs again!

i totally agree about them not really having large collections anymore.. it feels like everything changes so fast with new releases that the collections (for any goty or historical) are soo minimal.. the PC girlies were popping out with like 10-15 outfits!!

Yes! I very much agree! I just got Kavi too this year, but that is because there are so many videos out there on her and her collection and how to is still available…best friend dolls are a must and more historical character focus\outfits would be the best! History is my thing and that’s one main reason I love to collect Also the journals are awful they should offer the book or journal when you purchase!

Great tips! I would add that if you start a youtube channel without having an agig first, I don't think you're entirely on your own. I didn't have an agig but I was active in several ag FB groups and was able to announce the start of my channel there. I also just announced it on my regular FB page and told my friends and family straight up, "I don't even care if you ever watch or if you're into dolls or think I'm a weirdo. I'm asking you to subscribe because it will help the algorithm. It's a free, easy way to support a friend and if you don't like dolls don't watch." I got my first 100 subscribers in just a few days and I think most of them were ppl who know me and don't care about dolls but were willing to do me an easy favor. And the bonus is some of them DO watch and comment from time to time. One even thinks dolls are creepy but plays the videos in the background sometimes and listens. :)

Oh man I have a story, it relates to the clics and racism parts. I’ll try not to give out their names and add whatever I can remember. So I was on TikTok and came across this one ag TikToker talking about a situation that happened between her and this young collector let’s call agiger. At first she gifted to a friend which she ended up sending to this young collector I’ll call agiger. Before that, he dmed her asking what products she used which she told him. He then came out with customs exactly like her and her style. She found out her friend was giving her dolls she bought from her to agiger which she told her to stop and ended their friendship. She confronted him but he wouldn’t stop doing it. One doll he put her in a misogynistic shirt with the word “puta” on it and his excuse is that he wanted all his Latina dolls to be “bad bitches”. But he’s Latino too so he should know why that was a bad idea. The TikToker is too. He and a couple of more agigers and now a former agtuber also joined in this little clic to gang up and doxxwd her. What’s funny is that the agtuber called her racial slurs but was obsessed with Latino culture, hmmmm……….. The agiger then went on live with his mom kinda like trying to play the victim cause the TikToker didn’t unblock him and kept saying “I’m a minor” so many times. He saved the live so I was able to watch some of it. The TikToker has moved on to another acc and even deleted the story with everything on it. Idk about the agiger and agtuber but I always had a bad feeling about the agtuber There’s probably more but that’s all I can remember at the moment. Sorry this is so long😭😭
