Why not have the rudder post protrude the hull and have the tiller on the inside?

I've thought of doing what Cpt Yrvind did, but that would mean moving the rudder's pivot point closer to the main mast. Which I feel would reduce its leverage overall. On top of that, it would mean that I would have a shallower rudder area, since the rudder can't protrude down further than my bilge keels.
By keeping it on the stern, I can have a deeper rudder area, more leverage, as well as the ability to pivot it up when beaching the boat, and if seaweed catches on it, I can simply lift it to clear it off.
Plus the ability that if I hit something the rudder will pop up, instead of taking the full, unmoving impact.
I think these benefits are worth trying to keep the rudder on the stern.
I have come up with a better design on the details of how I would do this and I'm working on getting another video out talking about them.

I think you can still have the rudder post in the same position and have the tiller on the inside. Big wooden vessels often have an sterncastle as an overhang above the rudder with the tiller on the inside. You would have an tiny aftercastle, the stern would be hugging the rudder post as is now.
But that's only an suggestion for the sake of having an option hehe
Edit : and also, I think the blueprints look really nice!

@@robinj6997 I hadn't considered that. That would be simple too. Hmmm I'll have to draw out a few ideas with that in mind. Thanks for pointing that out!
🤣 I do tend over think things and miss some obvious details.
      Glad you like them!
I'm not the best sketcher, but I've been trying to make them as clear as possible for the videos.
