My take is that they want to be fully integrated into the party and because of their heavily progressive policies, want to do everything they can to not be seen as fringe, which means doing interviews with more established media instead. Plus they don’t have much to gain from an audience that’s already sympathetic to them.

Employers should not be forced to pay for someone not to work. That is utterly ridiculous tyranny. If you want to work, work. If you want to stay home with sick relatives or kids or anyone else? That’s on you and it’s your problem. Quit and stay home and use your own savings. You don’t force companies to pay people a WAGE when they are not WORKING. Wages are a TRADE. Money traded for time and talent. On top of that, paid family leave is disruptive and damaging to a business. I hire you, train you, and need you to do a job and now you’re going to announce you had a baby and I now have to pay you to sit home with that baby for 3 months or more? Wtf? HAVE A BABY ON YOUR OWN TIME. Not your employer’s.

@@sandsmarcamazing when owners and shareholders want more money, it's fine, but when employees want more money, it's terrible.
Also, they can't work all the time.
If they're already expected to work a full-time job, then paying workers enough for childcare would allow workers to be more productive.
Your real opposition here is in employees demanding a standard of life you believe they don't deserve.

Biden morphed into Bernie Sanders a couple years ago because he wanted to do the right thing at the end of a long compromised career where he protected corporate America. Kamala Harris is a formidable candidate on paper but her interactional style is tight, controlled and intellectual. It is a fact that her 2020 campaign was disastrous and there have been exposees on her heavy handed management. She has some people issues. She's not the best candidate, but the senior Dem Strategists did this to the party six months ago when they anointed Biden, over all common sense. The problem here is really the Democratic Party funding machine, which employs all the party operatives. The kingmakers are all those hidden billionaires interested in liberal social policy and low corporate tax rates who have bought the Democratic Party. The Party heads have the unenviable tax of eliding that they are going to actually achieve Medicare for all and $15/hour. AOC was correct about party rules and risk of voting stuff going to Trump's Supreme Court. So we end up with Cenk pointing out Kamala's negatives and problems in Senior Leadership in Democratic Party. People may not like Cenk not getting on Harris bandwagon and being "divisive," but on the facts, he is right about Kamala (except maybe the reality of structural problems getting to a candidate as fast as possible.)

Rent caps sound great, until you dive into it and realize it hurts small everyday landlords who own one or two houses or apartments and makes it harder for them to compete with the large private equity rental companies that rent out hundreds or thousands of units and can have lower overhead costs than a family who rents out a house they invested in to rent to someone. That is, unless the rental caps are so high they become pointless. Plus, if inflation goes up rapidly like we've seen, that alone can put small landlords out of business. And when you look into who benefits the most from this policy and how they donate, you realize this is just another policy corporate owned democrats sell to voters as "looking out for the little guy" when it actually just solidifies private equity's monopoly on real estate, which ends up making home ownership more out of reach, makes it impossible for normal people to rent out a house or even a room, and will paradoxically end up raising rent prices over time, since rent can still be raised, they just have to evict you first, then re list it with the new rent price. So as these big corporations buy up investment properties and buy up every square inch of land and build beehives for people where people are packed in small units like sardines, as competition reduces rents will go up even more in the long term. This is another policy that corporate owned democrats have marketed well enough that populists have bought into it hook, line, and sinker. Another policy that sounds good but ends up destroying things for the average people democrats claim to fight for and then the US ends up like California. Reject it! And whenever you hear of a a policy that sounds good for the little guy, find out whether it actuallly just helps large corporations monopolize and dominate.
