AMAZING!!! Thank you for your transparency. I would like to work as an ICU nurse and your video has helped better prepare me to strive towards this goal. I'm currently taking my critical care class (my school in Atlanta has a critical care course with clinical rotation included☺). I start in February for my clinical and will graduate Dec 2020, so yes this was right on time!!! Blessings 💙

I have an ICU interview next week!!!here is my tell me about yourself question...
.I am from .....I graduated from...with honors. Ive wanted to be a nurse for the last 10 years since my father became ill, and was in and out of the hospital. The level of care those nurses provided for him and my family left an everlasting impression. I want to be able to provide that same exceptional care for others in my community.

Hello Barbara, tHank you!! YOu are so beautiful and professional. A question I don't know how to answer is how do you establish boundaries between your patients and why do you want to be a nurse..

Hi Barbara! First of all, I love your ICU videos! I know this video is a year old, but I have a question about the “Tell me about yourself” interview question and how you kind of answer in regards to your nursing journey and why you want to be a nurse. This is for an externship, but it still seems like a relevant question. I had worked as a pharmacy tech for a very long time and although I enjoyed it I also realized I desired more direct/personal patient care. I had not really had much experience in a hospital as a patient. When I had my daughter she was born at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia. My nurses were amazing and the the NICU nurses were angels. They had all NICU moms take a class on infant cpr. Two months after my daughter was discharged home she had been suffering with pretty severe reflux. One night she was crying and I went to get her....all of a sudden she stopped and became very pale with a grayish cast. I tried to shake her foot to wake her. I got down with my eyes at her chest level and her chest was not moving. I immediately yelled to my husband to call 911 moved her to a flat hard surface and started finger compressions. She started breathing again, thankfully and the hospital said she seemed alright and she may have had an episode of “silent reflux”. She is a healthy and energetic 4 year old now in Pre-K. Those nurses saved her life by giving me as a patient the education necessary to handle a crisis. I knew after that I wanted to give back that same gift to others by being their for them in their critical time. 18 months later I started my nursing journey. My question being - is this story too personal? Thank you so much! I hope you are doing well and I’d love to hear more about your ICU journey 😊. Thank you again!

Thanks again. They like that I asked questions about their future plans and so on.

@@euniceharh7055 My interview went great! I got the job and start my first shift this Tuesday. They asked a lot of questions related to different scenarios and what I would do. For example, if a coworker was being too pushy and bossing me around, not allowing me to be hands on and learn, how would I handle that situation? Almost all my answers dealt with proper communication lol. I watched videos on icu interview questions too but they didn’t really help cause each manager is gonna be focused on such different things.
