In today’s video, I will unbox the 32TB Orico External HDD Enclosure 9528U3. I will show you a full setup guide, a hard disk performance test and review. The Orico Hard Disk Drive enclosure uses a JMS561U 6Gbps SATA to USB 3.0 bridge controller and supports two 3.5 inch drives of 16TB each. It has a USB 3.0 connectivity rated at 5Gbps. I will use the External Hard Drives and a Mini PC to install a Gigabit Network Attached Storage. I will show you a detailed guide to setup a simple Home NAS using Windows 10 for security cameras, mobile devices and computers. I will also perform a benchmark test to compute the read and write performance of HDD Enclosure.

Thanks for the great review
Thank you for excellent Review. Can talk about if the auto sleep function is a problem? i have seen it mentioned by many in the reviews of product. I will be using on linux so i am worried about it. Kindly let me know if you faced an issue because of automatic sleep
Thanks for sharing, it is use mini PC Beelink, right?
Thanks brother
In windows disk manager , we also can use 'raid 0' (select create stripped volume - rather than simple volumes) to merge the 2 drives into single 8 TB and using usb 3.0 roughly i think can get around 250 - 270 MBps with raid 0. But this is a software raid , not hardware raid, so only your pc can read the raid. If connect it to other laptop/pc, your drive won't be recognized. But as long as you using on single pc, you can utilize using raid to get faster R/W and merge as a single Volume / drive - not 2 separated drives. Orico also has the 'R' model which already has hardware raid which bit more expensive than standard model.
Where is the video of the nas installation on the mini pc ??
does it have rebuild feature just in case 1 drive fails?
could you do that with xpenololy nas and show us?
This is LAN only? Can it be accessed from a diferent network?
This is a USB HDD enclosure with RAID, not a NAS. It does not have a LAN port.
Yes correct. That's why I have shown in the video how to setup a simple Windows file share NAS. Thanks.
@@DSmartLife perhaps you should rephrase the title of the this video.. btw thanks for the review
What’s the difference between a multi-bay hdd enclosure and a NAS?
If I just want to setup multiple hard drives so that they can be used as one huge drive (with self back-up) then this a multi-bay hdd enclosure’s good enough right?
what happen to photo if hdd crash ?
Is it hot swappable?
Kaha milega
Does it support hot plug?
Yes it has hot-swapping feature. Thanks.
I would preffer rasperry pi 4 over the mini pc. The mini pc is better but the rasperry pi is cheaper
it's not a NAS unless it has a network interface.
do no buy orico products it is very bad. I have one and I dont like it
@who cares
your comment is very vague.
please do elaborate or explain properly why one shouldn't get an orico product.
is it just your personal opinion that it is very bad or do you have any proof or personal experience to provide why it is your claim that it is a very bad product.
How is it bad? Can you explain?
its a scam to call it a NAS
Orico are pieces of crap. Very slow and laggy especially with 20 and 24tb hdd drives. They cause serious lag issues. Orico told me it was my drive funny when I switched it to another enclosure my problem was fixed
Then which should I buy? Are they really that bad?
