This is exactly what i had discovered just yesterday and was looking to see what others had done and thought. Amazing video and thank you for making it. I am doing the exact same thing and also you should pull the large allen key plug and drop a washer under the spring to increase the oil pressure from the pump as well. Just my 2 cents.
I could not emphasised in video that balance shafts Do reduce the engine vibrations. I once used a Type S pump in my k24 swpaaed Fit and hated the ride quality which came after. Swapped backt to k24 oil pump with balance shafts in after a week. So if your k-series car is a daily than just don't delete balance shafts/use a k20 oil pump in a k24.
2 question : how will the pump helixal gears be lubricated with the oil pump feed hole plugged 2 the plug ta you take out is restrictive can't it just be leaved in? due to you will be using the same oilpump and it sits over the plug and it will not be pushed out
@@manuelcorvacho8353 we already removing balance shafts for which this hole is for oiling. And you need to plug it with a screw which is flushed with surface otherwise oil pump will not sit on as k24 oil pump is wider than Type S pump
Hello. Thank you VERY much for this video. I am looking to switch to high cam gear profile at 3500rpm on my k24a2. People say the oil pressure might not be high enough for that to be stable. Any comments? I am looking to build torque daily 2007 TSX. Redline 7k is okay with me! Thank you.
No i have not tested it and for accurate measurements i dont have any tools. Becoz oil pressure guage can show more pressure but does the volume increase too, that we cannot know untill some specialized company do itnin their labs etc etc But we had a detailed discussion at k20.org forum which i posted link in 1sr commnet and video description. If you talking about balance shafts lubrication, than we have already removed/cut them. If you meant the oil pump gear themselves than answer is they are always dipped in oil since they are pumping the oil
This port that was blocked was supplying the oil to the shaft bearings of the balancers - without the shafts (that were cut off) the lines would be open and the oil would be just squirting out causing the pressure dropping critically.
If its daily dont go S pump. You will hate vibrations. Stock pump is enough for good amount of hps. And in K24 its the long stroke/rods which are 1st to break not the oil pump.
@@A.QPerformance Maybe I port the stock pump and leave the counter shafts on for no vibrations haha. Also using 62a Mounts which pump have less vibration
@@jf8322 safe is a dynamic term. Depends what are your limits. If you plan on revving to 10k rpm than not safe, of 8k than yes, I have blown a built expensive engine with 1-2-1 mis-shift. So it all depends of so many factors
No practical was done. Just in depth comparison. But I have shared a link in video description where all aspects were discussed on k20a.org forum. I advise to check that out aswell

Si hay q taparlo el dice q solamente tienes q usar un allen plug para q quede la superficie plana porque la bomba de k24 sienta sobre e hueco

If your power goals are near 240 than turbo a R18. It is not safe above. If you have aim 300-400 than k24 is way

Actually the K24 is also a 4-piston one. Everything above is V6.

Which ever is easily available near you and cheaper. A moded k24 is.enough for most needs
