Girl. The first time I "met" you, my heart felt so much sadness for you. I couldn't put my finger on it, except you just seemed sad, and lonely, and I just wanted to hug you and tell you it could be different, that you had so much worth and value. You seemed deeper and kinder than the people around you. It has been beautiful to watch you find a place for you to blossom like this.
I wanted to kick “someone’s” ass when I first found Jaylena on TH-cam. I’m thankful that someone is off in TH-cam land doing something else these days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Lance for finding the bus problem and FIXING IT. Ally thank you for the beautiful mural you painted on Jaylena’s bus. It really means so much to us that love Jaylena that she is surrounded by such wonderful people like you guys. God Bless you all. MUCH LOVE❤️❤️
One thing that I've learned is sometimes you have to cut toxic people with unresolved personal issues out of your life completely; and it doesn't matter who they are. I've been following you since the very beginning and this is the happiest that I've ever seen you. You can feel the authenticity of you and Isaac's relationship right through the screen. I'm glad you got your bus back up and running; you're doing an amazing job on it!
Those are true friends!! Ally and Lance, God bless you! You both have done so much for Jaylena. Anyone would be honored to have you as friends in their life. 💕
It’s always nice to have people in your life that is always there to lean on if you need them and just by listening and watching you I can tell that you would be there for them if they need you. I’m so happy that you have Issac for your life partner. You and Issac deserve each other. Take care and I’m glad your bus is fixed. Love you girl.
Yay so happy Lance found the issue and fixed it, we had a mechanic friend from Florida and he says you really need to find a trustworthy mechanic because too many make a lot of money on unnecessary stuff but you replaced a lot of stuff with your brother and that’s not a bad thing in that in some ways you were rebuilding the engine and not just letting old parts stay in there to possibly fail soon, I hope that’s actually a blessing for when you do take a road trip in your bus 🚌
Blossomed into the most beautiful rose 🌹 LEAVE HER WILD as I remember the OLD day's, your strength and determination as well as being yourself, has brought you far!!! Keep moving forward and stay wild! I love you like a granddaughter lol. Much love from Texas 💜
So wonderful, having so many multitalented great friends. The work Lance did with his big hands , big tool in that small space is commendable. For being so young, he has mastered a lot. ✌️ Rosey 🇺🇸
My husband said it sounded like a loose connection. I guess he knows a little since he’s a mechanic . Go Lance !! It’s a simple fix that got overlooked. My husband works on equipment and you’ll be surprised at what simple fixes get overlooked. They get new equipment from factories with loose connections. Can’t wait for you to catch up with Dawn and Samantha.
That was about my thought process when she was having issues on the drive up (or defective parts). And unfortunately mechanics get paid per job and not per hour, and there's a book time on the per job..... So basically if the book says this part should take 3 hours to replace and there are issues and reality is 5 hours the mechanic is only paid for the 3 hours, and vice versa which makes for missing something small very possible.
This has been such a blessing to watch you this past year plus and see your transition and growth, personally. You are a woman to be admired as you shared your journey. You are emerging such a strong, beautiful and confident woman. I know when I had Blossom, my ambulance, I had to go out once a week and run her around or idle her for quite a while so I could start her up. Cora, my box truck, starts every time I have to move her anywhere...and she can sit like a normal vehicle!!!
JAYLENA, TRY PUTTING A LITTLE DISH SOAP ON YOUR BELT. I WOULD ALSO HAVE SOMEONE LOOK AT IT TO SEE IF IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IF YOUR BELT SLIPS YOUR ALTERNATER WONT CHARGE UP.
Replace that squeaky belt when you get the chance. That belt runs your power steering, the alternator, and the water pump. A replacement belt should run you about $35.00 bucks. Lance can replace it for you.
Just a tip: when disconnecting a battery, always disconnect the negative first. So you don’t have the problem of sparks with the wrench grounding on metal.
Catching up on missed videos.. Glad to see that the Van was running better. Thank you for helping Jaylena out. Watching you now, you can see how happy and how much more emotionally stable you are now. I'm so proud of you and Happy for you Jaylena. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. And may God continue to bless you, your family and your adventures.
Jaylena, make sure you test the alternator now, do it while the engine is running at idle with a digital multimeter. Set it to DC voltage and put the leads on the positive and negative terminals, it should read approximately 14 volts DC. This way you know the alternator is charging the battery.
Sometimes the "shade tree mechanics" are the best. I had a car once that was running badly. I took it to a local shop, and they did a bunch of stuff that didn't fix the problem. I was going to scrap it, but my brother says, no bring it down here, I'll fix it and we can sell it. So I managed to baby it the 70 miles to his place. Within a couple weeks he had it running like a top, and my dad had it sold to a co-worker. I almost wanted to keep it. :-)
Glad you have made good friends you went through a hard time and we all are happy for you. Enjoy looking forward to seeing your build. Glad you are going back to eating better and working out.
I am so glad everything is working out for you moving forward. Don’t look back, your life is on track to a much healthier relation ship, and future. 💕💜💖
Thankful that you are slow prepping this bus motor.. eventually getting new parts for the motor will bring new life and long life for this bus.. don't give up on her💕love this bus🚐🏞️😁
The Lord brings people into our lives for a purpose. He brought lance into yours. Always be thankful to Him our Lord most high. Never forget His love for you!
Jaylena I'm glad it was a easy issue the bus runs really good to make it that far . I would recommend getting a transmission service before you start traveling 👽
So awesome to see the transformation of your bus, to see it barely running when you first got it, and seeing all of the improvements and seeing what it has turned into and how awesome everything is turning out for you!!! HINT: to keep everything happy, always add a little "Lucas Engine Oil Additive" when you change the oil and a bottle of "Seafoam" to the gas tank once per month. That will help keep the engine protected from "dry" starts and can add up to 100,000 extra miles of life to the engine. The seafoam will help keep the fuel system clean and lubricated.
So happy you met some awesome friends Thank you Lance for helping Jaylena with her bus. Now you can go forward and enjoy your new life and beautiful Isacc and enjoy your lives together
You should have Lance look over your bus, connections , hoses etc just an all over look. He sounds like a good over all fix it guy. A natural talented young man. A diamond
Jaylena I am so happy for you. That is awesome Lance was able to fix what needed to be fixed. So excited that Isaac popped up in your life. But then I feel God had something to do with that. Proud of what your doing to the bus. Take care. Hugs to you.
Stay safe out there, remember this: we can't have light without the darkness... We may struggle, we may fall and sometimes we my even cry... But all these things, teach us something, we may walk in darkness, tears falling down, it feels as if we can't go any farther, but we keep falling the light, because in our heart we know it will get better.. Now, I'm going to tell you a secret; the light you follow is your own light, yes your the light, and nobody can take your light, let it shine bright, there's nothing you can't do, you are beautiful person and the value you bring, is a ray of hope to others.. Never sale yourself short, stand strong in you light, you're worth it...
I am one that kept saying it’s an alternator issue. When the battery cable was loose I kinda thought the other end to the alternator was loose also. When your voltage jumps around like that and your lights went dim it was obvious to me. So glad you can drive it now. It’s too pretty to sit in that bus yard. Great friends are always a blessing.
Great feeling, also great reminder that many "mechanics" care about getting paid for work, not good work. Im sure you both checked, but look at those belts and the tension. Could be a bad belt or not enough tension. You can also try to clean the belt and pully if the belts look good. Belt can leave you stranded, a squeak is the first sign of failure.
Yes. Belts are VERY crucial to good performance. My old bus is a '52. However it hasn't run for years so I just use it as a camper. If I ever get $$ I'll fix this baby up. I love her❤❤❤⛽🛋
He said the vacuum lines are "old and crusty". That can cause so many problems. The easiest thing to do would be to buy a large section of vacuum hose , pull an old one off, use it to cut a new one the same length, then put the new one where the old one was, and repeat. You could do this at your pace. Do the crustiest or hardest ones first. The cover for the engine that you said you might get rid of also acts as a fire shield -if one happens to break out in the engine compartment. Please do not get rid of it!... The ones that are just cup holders or wire covers are different from yours. Can't wait to see what happens next!!
Yup! Electrical connections like loose/corroded terminals are usually what to suspect. You would think when you get an alternator replaced they would do a good job connecting it? Lot of places just don't care enough - maybe figure that you'll just come back, and some think that's another opportunity to charge you for 'diagnosing' the new problem. It's CRAZY, it's STRESSFUL and I'm so glad you're in with good people who aren't all about the 'billable hours'. That said, rebuilt alternators can be hit and miss, and may (sometimes) suffer from reduced service life if they're poorly done, kind of like that connection, but internal to the alternator. Sadly an actual new one is usually pretty pricey! Might consider saving for a new high output alternator which will probably be well worth it if you intend to also charge your house batteries from the van as well. Just a thought. Also the belt shouldn't 'chirp' or squeak - if it does it may need tightening, although what you described may just be the pulleys, which as you said, could be pretty normal for an older vehicle. Stay well and keep smiling!
So glad Lance was there and able to get your bus fixed. Also glad it was a simple fix. Yeah...it feels good to have a healthy bus/home and transportation. Now time for you to build her out and continue with the beautification process. Good job Lance! Also nice he was good at explaining what he was doing so you can be more familiar with things that can go wrong with your bus. Always good to learn the basics so you feel more secure with basic mechanics. Belts have a tendency to squeak especially after they have been worked on and they had to remove and reinstall your belt when they replaced the alternator. They can squeak more in wet environments or after sitting for a while. The more you drive her the better she'll sound. Gotcha a purring peach now girl..😊
You are the best.. it so great with you find that someone who maybe your soul mate.. I know that a lot of ppl don't believe this but..EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON... I truly hope you and Isaac give this 200% .. Keep your videos coming... you have so many us behind you... ♡
Yea! Glad Texas Peach is running better. Also, I'm happy for your life turning around to the positive. There truly a lot of good people out there. There are going to be some great adventures ahead!
Better check the belt tensioner and add some "belt dressing" to the belts, will keep them from slipping and will help them last longer. Better replace those vacuum lines also, if one blows it can suck debris into the engine and jack up the cylinder walls and ruin the engine and will also make it run really poor or possibly not run at all until they are replaced.
I am so glad you got it fix and was easy fix those 1993 Chevy engines work Awesome I was worried about you because you said one time you were thinking about put it for sale but I am glad you found the problem and got it fix. Please keep putting little things likg new bearings, tires air conditioning new ones why because it worth it also about the Stereo you can put a nice one with the touch screen flip for when ever you are on the road you can hear it nice speakers nothing crazy just my thoughts anyway I am happy for you and your bus sincerely Alonzo here from Georgia north USA 🇺🇸🙏🏼🤗🙏🏼❤️
The Alts barely charge at idle. Needs about 1000 rpm's for full speed charging. The squeaking is likely a pulley. Can be the tensioner, one of the components or the idler pulley(fixed pulley). Slide belt off rotate each one if it doesn't roll smooth and quiet replace it. If it sounds squeaky or gravely it's on its way out. The bolt can be found at any auto parts store...use the right one. A regular 3/8" diameter bolt can be used but length is extremely important and hard to get right. Too long is too loose and bad connections, too short and easy to strip it out since not enough threads. Use the correct bolt, always use Dielectric grease on the battery/power under hood or anything exposed to keep corrosion down.
Occasionally do a pretrip inspection. Or when your working on something near. Do a wiggle test on connections and wiring. Crawl under grab a hold of bars etc, raise wheel with jack check play for tierods, ball joints, wheel bearing. Vids on how it's pretty easy, you'll usually feel it going bad before your wheel falls off. Put a torque wrench on lug nuts. Might take 2min to check em all.
Fyi all the belt dressing comments are NOT mechanics. The squeak is an indicator of a problem. Properly maintained running components don't squeak. Don't hide a problem. It's likely NOT even the issue. The newer Serpentine belts rarely ever squeak. Thats the old V belts. It's usually a pulley/component bearings going bad
Wow!! excellent!! ( don’t forget to put those vacuum hoses on your replacement list). Onward to the inside!!!! Your life has taken such an upswing with the people you have chosen to be among… sending love! 🙌🏼🥰
get the 15.00 dollar alternator belt and put in on and make it tight do it before you think the bus is finished, i mean if its not too bad but if you replace it now keep the old belt in the bus to have as a spare
Love watching this new journey in your life! You have most definitely had a dark last couple of years but girl this is your glowup!🥰Your light is shining bright!🌞Cant wait to see what's next! Hail to the mechanics in the world!! Allie did a great job on the mural! ❤ Subbing to them next!
It’s always the simplest reason for a break down…Lance is not only eye candy he is smart he wisely figured out your alternator problem…I had one that was bad right out of the box…I love that he solved it so that you can go on living your best life….the mural ROCKS!…..your rig is looking good!
Disconnect the negative part of the battery to make it safe to work on and avoids any arc when taking it off. This also holds true for Jumping ( negative last when putting on the jumper cables and negative first when taking them off) will keep you from blowing up a battery because or arc.
Glad it was an easy fix, I'm so happy that you & Isaac have some amazing friends Lance & Ally! I'm looking forward to seeing Dawn & Samantha in Oregon. As always Enjoy your Journey!
If there is ANY rust on your pullies, take the time to properly sand & clean them.. It may stop or reduce any squealing.. Your pullies could be slightly out of alignment (number of reasons).. Good luck..
Yup, I see people continue driving after semi fixing stuff that dosen't truly fix the real problem. It's truly best to get it fixed correctly before more thing gets broken down the road and your stranded, truly stranded in middle of nowhere. Be safe and get things fixed correctly before it breaks more items on the vehicle. Nice update on your travels. PS your friend did you very nice. Keep His Phone Number and Send Him Christmas Cards! Thanks again. :)
Glad you found out what the problem was. My biggest fear about hitting the road is breaking down so am doing all I can in order to hopefully make sure that doesn't happen.
you remove the negative terminal not the positive, but that part if it was broken would cause electrical nightmares if it intermittently had connections. Belt dressing helps with that squeak.

So happy its fixed. Now you can breathe and keep full speed ahead
I am so glad that your bus is fixed. That little squeak might just be the belt tensioners need a little tweak and then you are set.
get the 15.00 dollar alternator belt and put in on and make it tight do it before you think the bus is finished, i mean if its not too bad but if you replace it now keep the old belt in the bus to have as a spare
Thank God for your friend lance glad you will be safe now
Love watching this new journey in your life!
Great.. nice angle from your feet on the pedals..
Your journey has gone on a amazing path. I'm happy for you and enjoy watching you grow. You have meet some great people.
see he's a wise man he looks for things that he can get to while he has the dog house off as preventive maintenance
Wow! Congratulations it's all better now.
Hope your bus is finally fixed, and you can go full speed ahead good luck 👍.
So happy 😁 for you that you Lance got the bus 🚌 fixed and I’m happy 😃 that your happy 😊 it’s about time love 💕 from Ohio Irene
Bus races around Isaac's shop! Let's do it!
Happy, Happy you got your bus fixed Jay.
Thank you lance,bunches!!!!!
This is so AWESOME Jaylena!
Everything is coming together!
Lance ROCKS!!!💙
you remove the negative terminal not the positive, but that part if it was broken would cause electrical nightmares if it intermittently had connections. Belt dressing helps with that squeak.
