Get the bus fixed before putting more time and $ into it. Build from the ground up. Like a house, your foundation is the most important part of any build. 🍻
Couldn’t agree more Sean. I am converting a shuttle bus and I had my mechanic go through it bumper to bumper before starting the inside. I also replaced all the tires, they had good tread but were very old.
What do you think she was trying to do dumping money into it? Not trying to be an ass.. but you're comment doesn't really make sense.. the time and $ is being put into it to fix it...
If anyone was to ask me to describe Jaylena I would start with breath takingly beautiful inside and out. The part that keeps me watching Leave Her Wild, she is brave but not fearless, determined, smart, clever, seeks help when needed, not afraid to be genuine and is very resourceful. Keep being who you are and I will always follow your journey. Wish I was younger I would come help you out. Take care and I will see you on your next one.

@@slappychap969 Same with 'unstoppable' Morgan, and several other women (single or 'otherwise'). Always wind up having to 'depend on the kindness of others' (men) instead of just reading a repair book or two - or even our comments - and buying a few tools. So much for 'independent' women.
When you find your mechanic tell him you’d like a high output alternator (get an good one, maybe ask a local audio shop to recommend) and upgraded wires, battery isolator and maybe another battery. It will pay off in the long run. Just an old mans 2 cents, Mika
@@tyggy3 It turned out to be a loose battery cable. The towing service tightened it for her. If the starter had been bad, she would not have been able to start it. The alternator was not the problem, either. The battery was weak because the loose cable was not allowing the alternator to charge the battery, hence the starting problem. She was able to start it easily, I think, using the jump pack/charger. That problem should now be solved, never to return!
The same thing was happening in my vehicle few yrs ago. I had several alternators replaced batteries replaced no one could diagnose the problem. It was on my 1996 Buick Regal..after several trips to the mechanic and several months..it was the cars grounding wire was rusted..and so my car was not grounded a it caused my battery to die and my car to go crazy while I was driving the speedometer would go wacky, my temp gauge would fluctuate as if it t was overheated...and this would usually happen when I was traveling away from home..it just sounds like the same thing I went through...have someone check the ground wire..
I would say the battery cables need to be replaced. Given it's a 1993 bus, they probably never have been. It would also solve the charging issue she's having, as with corroded wiring, it makes the alternator work harder to keep the battery charged by having to overcome extra resistance in the charging circuit.
I cried 😢 when you you said the tow guy got your bus running. So crazy how things turn out sometimes and awesome how some people are willing to help others. Good job girl you made it.
Hope you can get the problem with your bus figured out. Proud of you for being strong enough to drive that far and to make it all the way to Isaac's. Thank God for that tow truck driver and the other guy at the truck stop for helping you. There are good people in this country. Stay safe young lady 🙏.
You made it though. That's tge important thing and you have help. Issac can refer you to his mechanic. When something will change your life for the better, the initial road must be paved and requires hard work and sacrifice. You got this, Jaylena 💕💯

Jaylena, you are so brave. And not only do you have a big wonderful heart ❤, you've got GUTS to go with it !!! It scares me to think about you being broke down along the roadside. So, as for the fuel, how many miles per gallon did the bus get on your trip back to Oregon? We are so glad you made it back to Oregon safely. I really appreciate your channel and this video in particular because I'm about to set off on my first trip in my bus, across the country, solo.. and I'm having a good bit of anxiety about breaking down on my first run. So it's good to see the worst, that you can be at that point of feeling defeated, wanting to cry on the side of the road but not giving up and you got thru it! Thankyou💪😊
Don't give up doll, these are the times that build you. Feel frustrated for a bit, then pick yourself up and persevere. You got this, you are smart and very capable! Many prayers!!!

Check both battery cable connections, both ends of both cables. The red cable connects to either the starter solenoid or the starter, and the black cable should be bolted to the engine block. Did anyone ever check the failure codes during the previous problem? There were several good people who told you how to do it, and the mechanic who had it for 5 days should have definitely done it. Those codes can direct someone to the cause of problems, and possibly save frustration, time, and money. Well worth checking.
@@paulmonk7820 you are definitely right about the codes should have been checked. And the wires and connections. Jaylena make sure the bolts are tight too. But if its not a simple fix like the wires on the battery, it sounds more like your alternator is going. If it was the battery it wouldn't go. Don't wait to long to fix or u could fry your battery(think along the lines of solar batteries).
An OBD sensor is a good investment. That way you can know if/when you throw a code. Plus you can save money on diagnostic (usually $100-200 at shops) since a shop is using the same thing or a fancier/more expensive version. And quite a few models give live statistics and readings when the motor is running, a problem found when it first happens can prevent being stranded or a huge bill. If you know what the code is (or driving numbers looking different) a quick Google search will tell you if it's an easy fix you can do yourself or if you actually need a mechanic.
@@mycrazylifewfawnlisette3582 This is unfortunately too old for the OBD2 testers. This is a '93, and OBD2 started with '96. However, there are fault codes , they just require a little more work and patience to retrieve them. There are TH-cam videos that will guide you through the procedure. BTW, this year fell into the OBD1 era, and there was actually a primitive code reader, but it is practically impossible to find now. Thank you Jesus for getting her there!!!! I was praying for you girl a lot!!! I’ve been checking for a video every day, when this popped up, I ran outside and told my husband “ she made it”. Yay!!!!
I’m keeping positive about this. It’s ok to cry. Just be safe Jalena an please keep us posted. I hope you are eating and staying hydrated. So glad you’re safe. You look so tired. For the first long ride , you have to give the bus credit that nothing major occurred. That’s a long distance and you did super great Gil, much love. 🤟
I am thrilled you are at your new home base and safe and back with your best friend! You deserved a BIG HUG from Isaac that he didn't have to come rescue you but instead you handled it, God sent an angel in a mechanics suit ❤ kept you going. Feeling massively proud of you from here in the uk 🇬🇧, you faced any number of challenges that would have had most of us in bits, but you DID it! Bravo, hope you find a brilliant mechanic who can solve bus ‘issues’ and I look forward to seeing the interior take shape. Kindest regards from retirees building out a Sprinter.
*CHECK YOUR BATTERY CONECTION POST MIGHT BE LOOSE OR DIRTY.... TAKE THE RED CABLE END OFF THE BATTERY CLEAN IT FOR COROSION PUT BACK ON TIGHT...REPEAT WITH BLACK GROUND CABLE BATTERY POST AS WELL...HOPE THIS TIP HELPS...🙂* *When I posted this comment I did not get through the whole video yet my guess was right..*
Actually, I'd see where the cables go, and replace them. If you have corrosion at the ends, you probably have bad cables. I say this because I had an issue with my truck when I got it -- the cables themselves were so corroded, internally, the cables were crackling and popping, which is a no-no. A good cable should be able to be removed, then be able to be bent with no crackling or popping. This will prevent a bad charge condition.
Sometimes God allows us to either hit rock bottom or feel like we have hit rock bottom so that when he works in our lives, we are more appreciative of his blessings. God bless the tow truck driver helping when he absolutely didn’t have to!!!! God Bless you Jaylena. The scenery was gorgeous!!

if you got the alternator from auto zone they refurbish their products and sometimes they are no good. check to see what phone number and name it was purchased under and have it exchanged. they may even replace it for you. some will and some wont but its worth it to ask. just tell them you are on the road alone and they may hook you up.

Glad to see you made it to Oregon. Sorry to hear you describe your problems with the bus. But you are there now and you can work out the problems as time permits. And you can move forward with the build. Take care and as always from iowa hang in there.
While the battery connections were loose the battery could have gotten pulled down low enough to basically kill it even if it was brand new or close to it. Regular lead acid batteries don't like being pulled down below a certain point. Any honest mechanic will know to go through the entire charging system to rule everything out even if the parts are new. Also, since Walmart is everywhere the Everstart Maxx is a really good battery for the money. We use them all the time with great success in cars, trucks, and boats. I would test the alternator with a multi meter and make sure it's charging and then have the battery load tested. Just one of those things where you have to troubleshoot until you find the problem.
Yupper...probably shorted it while having it loose all that time..that gauge description made me think that one of the cells got damaged. What kind of mechanic leaves the battery loosely connected? Not a professional one. lol...little bro...what did you do?
@@hunterhunter3827 Yeah after installing a new one we ALWAYS go back soon after and make sure connections are good. Nuts are especially prone to coming loose on boat batteries with all the rings usually involved. Ironically I had a terminal get loose on me causing some strange behavior years ago and it was a demonic GM side post. Not sure if her bus has them but I fully believe GM side post terminals are the work of the devil, lol.
You are not alone in the way bus issues make you feel. I have had electrical issues, fuel line issues, brakes, and 3 weeks ago, I was so discouraged by the money, the time, and the self doubt about the choice to build it that it felt easier to just quit on her (and yes, at a tears level of frustration). I did not. I just made a 320 mile drive with the quietest, smoothest riding version of my bus that I have had since day 1. Things are moving into place bc the money and time were investments into my dream, and the dream is coming together. You are a boss, you are driving across the country, you are making risky moves to have rewards others might not ever get from their lives. This moment will simply become part of your story. You've got this.
Oh my gosh, I have been worried about you Jaylena! So glad you made it back and have the support of your friend tribe again ❤️ Can’t wait to see your bus build! Blessings ✌️

Sometimes life throws u a curve ball but you've got this so stay strong. You're you tube family is right behind you. You've got this Jaylena
The further you get from the east and west coast you will continue to meet real regular nice folks. Don't watch or listen to all the BS NEWS where their telling everyone to hate each other. Live and let live.
But you just did hate on other people by making that statement, you implied that people on the East and West coast are not nice........
This a trip that you'll never forget. It's amazing how Angels show up to help us when we are in need, sometimes appearing as complete strangers and tow truck drivers!. Bless you Jaylena, stay safe and I can't wait to see what you do with that bus.
Ain’t that the truth!!
Glad you made it there safe. Looking forward to the build!
Thank you Jesus for getting her there!!!!
I was praying for you girl a lot!!!
I’ve been checking for a video every day, when this popped up, I ran outside and told my husband “ she made it”. Yay!!!!
Jaylena you ard one remarkable 🚌 road worrier .Im so happy you made at and the problems be worked out.THERE IS ALWys good around us.
I’m so glad you got there safe & sound! And the kitties are happy too! Crossing my fingers it’s an easy & cheap fix on the bus!
I am thrilled you are at your new home base and safe and back with your best friend! You deserved a BIG HUG from Isaac that he didn't have to come rescue you but instead you handled it, God sent an angel in a mechanics suit ❤ kept you going. Issac was kinda lost without his side kick teaching each other new stuff. Jaylena you are such a inspiration to so many of us and yes even to a 62 year old!! You just keep on being You and enjoy all your positive people that have been brought into your life! Never seen you happier then when you are at this bus fix it yard.... lol.
Oh my goodness you will love Oregon. Beautiful and the weather is so nice. No tornadoes no hurricanes. The worst thing is maybe the smoke from fires. But you will find it fascinating its different life there. I am from Washington state on the east side. The tri cities area Pasco Kennewick Richland area.
I am originally from Northern Minnesota near Duluth. Its a different country and a different vibe. Have a blessed week. Love & Light from Washington state. People are very nice in this whole area. If you need help its usually there for you. Your right people are kind.🧚♀️💖🌟
TAKE THE RED CABLE END OFF THE BATTERY CLEAN IT FOR COROSION PUT BACK ON TIGHT...REPEAT WITH BLACK GROUND CABLE BATTERY POST AS WELL...HOPE THIS TIP HELPS...🙂*
*When I posted this comment I did not get through the whole video yet my guess was right..*
Coca Cola will help with taking off corrosion. I’d get battery tested and alternator.
You and Isaac become a couple 💯❤️
Commenting and watching
I’m so glad it was just a battery connection. I’m so excited for your adventure.
That same thing happened to us! Was relieved that’s all it was.
I admire you for your guts, your determination, and your inner-strength Jaylena. Keep going girl! You've got this.
So happy you got there safely! 🙏 Such a good feeling to know there is still good people out there!
My heart breaks for you! 💔
You are a strong woman, you’ll get through this! God has a plan for you, you may not understand it but, He does!!!!

Girl! You are so lucky to have had met such wonderful people to help you out. That is a long trip to make with a bus that was semi crippled anyway. Gotta be worth fixing after all that! Hope God blesses you with a good mechanic! Do take care!
*NEVER STOP MOVING FORWARD...*
Hi Jaylena!! I'm so-so happy you and the baby-kitty🐈 made it there safe and sound to the beautiful Oregon. God bless you and those kind gentlemen who help you. 🙏 Totally looking forward to the build. Best wishes!😊 💝
if you got the alternator from auto zone they refurbish their products and sometimes they are no good. check to see what phone number and name it was purchased under and have it exchanged. they may even replace it for you. some will and some wont but its worth it to ask. just tell them you are on the road alone and they may hook you up.
A rare moment where someone was actually kind. I wish there were a lot more of those moments.
I know the feeling of my car not starting in the middle of nowhere. We're frustrating. God speed Jaylena!
Amen. God always is the answer. Turn to him first. Everything will be better Always! Praise Him and all His glory .
Girl you had me in tears! As a Mom I hate to see you with struggles. But I am so happy you finally made it. Now go have a good cry get it out and pick up and show us the build. You are brave, beautiful, smart and a strong willed woman. Go conquer girl!
That was a long trip. So glad you made it even if you did have some issues. Hopefully when Isaac gets his build done you two can take some down time and relaxe a little. I know you are wanting to get to work but don't push it. You are there now so take your time and enjoy what you are doing. Take care and good luck!
Im so proud of you. You are braver an smarter than you give uourelf credit for keep going an keep us updated on your journey. Im a mother of sons . But if I had a daughter I would hope she would be brave like you. I know your mom is very proud of you.

Glad you made it safe too, still sending hugs love and prayers daily to you Jaylena 🤗💖🙏 see you on your video 😊
I've done this numerous times. the stress can be overwhelming. this woman has guts.
Not sure if her bus has them but I fully believe GM side post terminals are the work of the devil, lol.
don't never give up always hold up your head and keep on doing what you are doing now and it will finely work out for you
I'm soooo pleased your there safe and sound . Get to gett'n.....HUGS
Im also very proud of you courage. Over 2 k miles in a bus and 2 cats alone. Wow!!!
Oh I'm so glad you made it! You didn't need to cry I cried for you! Excited to watch the build! 😊❤😊
Yep generator or alternator which ever your bus has...keeps battery charged...glad you got that charger..be safe and God bless
So glad you made it! 😊
Oh my gosh, I have been worried about you Jaylena! So glad you made it back and have the support of your friend tribe again ❤️ Can’t wait to see your bus build! Blessings ✌️
Stressful video but so happy you made it ❤️
Wahoooooo! Glad you made it dear! Love your strength and the clear joy you feel to be back around that guy. Giggle it’s a good thing, whatever it is. Settle in and welcome to the great Northwest!
You got this Jaylena!! Don’t get discouraged. This is your destiny.
Oh I so know that sinking feeling of breaking down on the side of the road, as well as the elation of a helping hand and the truck fixed and another 1000 miles behind me. So thankful you made it to Oregon to continue your new journey. Hey Isaac!
Everything happens for a reason,if you didn’t break down you wouldn’t have meet some real nice people, keep your head up ,you got this ❤️
Your adventures and courage touch me deeply. Thank you for taking us along and showing us great country views along the way. Admire you so much. CT here.
fyi.....if you have a pilot or loves reward card and get fuel there, you earn points and you could use that for free showers and other stuff in the stores..
Hang in there kiddo! Life is good! One step at a time and you have this! All in time ❤️. You're such a brave young lady!
Your strong woman . Let it be with god he has you 🙏🙏🙏🙏 I be praying for you always girl🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
So relieved to hear you made it to Oregon safely! May you find peace and contentment after the nerve wracking journey. Praying you find a good mechanic who can fix the bus once and for all without charging you an arm and a leg!
Focus on the positive! Use ONLY Positive, Grateful wording - it works like a magnet & pulls in Positive and Grateful things! (Negative brings negative)
Things happen, sure... they're learning experiences... but leave those in the rear view mirror and only look ahead. You're doing great, Jaylena!! :) ♡
