I was at work a couple weeks ago, doing tasks and listening to Lullaby of the Giants on loop, since it's probably my favorite on the whole OST aside from the Blades of Chaos Theme, (also a few of the tracks that run during the Musphelheim Gauntlet), but I had forgotten to turn Loop on. This song crept right up on me, and I got a chill that made me stop dead in my tracks, for the briefest of moments. Just ran through the game on challenging for the story, but gonna go back to GMGOW+ to tighten up my combat for Ragnarok. Got the collectors edition, and a badass new monitor. I've never been more excited for a game in my entire life, and I know Santa Monica will knock it out of the park again. In interviews I remember them saying they had to leave lots of amazingly cool ideas on the writing table, using this game as an introduction to the Norse realm. It's a lot of slow and steady world building, so I'm betting Ragnarok will be nearly non stop action, coupled with a multi layered story, that will heavily expand on every element of the stories we heard in the first game. I'll bet money the giants are coming back. Faye's ashes were clearly magical, and there's clearly a reason she wanted them there. A line from a lore entry reads, "The serpent and the guardian ('Faye') remained ('on midgard'). Only when doom befalls the indestructible ('Baldur'), shall the guardian return." We'll be seeing Faye again, and she'll have an army of revived giants. There's still so much potential. Cool moments like seeing Skol and Hati devour the sun and moon, hearing the crowing of the 3 roosters to signal the beginning of Ragnarok, and so much more without even getting to the final battle, which will of course, be absolutely massive. God I'm so excited. Also fuck scalpers for raking away all the Jotnar edition copies to resell at 5x the price. Absolute scum.
