    No there's no underlying reasons. Jamie got it spot on, he's chopping and changing and causing the unrest that leads to those horrible goals. Aubameyang and Lacazette will always score but that's not down to emery.

    • @pradhan2008
      @pradhan2008 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      isn't it obvious the chopping and changing is more down to the imbalance in the squad .... he played Holding ,Mustafi,Bellerin and Monreal week in week out last season till the injuries disrupted the the continuity ... so it was more down to contingency than design.

    • @dogcatdogable
      @dogcatdogable 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Well that's reductive. A board that prefers to buy Pepe in pay as you go instalments when the manager desperately needs a top class defence is clearly not up to the task.

    • @jamstonjulian6947
      @jamstonjulian6947 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      He must be chopping and changing because he doesn't like what he's seeing from players, because even when results were good he would change things. Which says to me he either doesn't trust the players or he's doubting his own principles. Which to me reeks of a coach completely out of his depth and unable to see with any clarity just how bad his team are performing.

      When you have an unreliable back 4(and we practically gave you Luiz) you cant attack. Thats why he is putting bodies behind the ball, becuase he has absolutley no trust in that defence.Same as Mourinho did with united.

    • @theboy2163
      @theboy2163 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't care what anyone says. If your defenders and team are coached the right way they can defend. Anyone who has played football knows that when you are not on the ball, you have to defend - arsenal leave it all up to the defenders and no one helps.
      I do believe that if they had a solid line up every week team chemistry would improve and that they'd be able to beat teams like Southampton and Burnley and so on.
      Emery is a top class fraud

From being so open at Arsenal he developed a clear and robust strategy of being excellent defensively - either as a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1 - and clinical on the counter attack. Gary you’re a terrific pundit, but I’m sorry, your consistent blind defence of managers when they’re consistently underperforming seems to stem from the fact that you got the a$$ at Valencia. I’m not a huge Carragher fan, but he’s absolutely nailed it here. As an Arsenal fan he’s articulated our sentiments perfectly. We shouldn’t be consistently conceding so many shots on target. Constantly playing out from the back when it’s clearly not working. Wrong team selections. Forever changing the formation. The list is endless. We don’t care about his Europa league titles with Sevilla or how “highly” he’s revered in Spain as Gary put it. We want to see success and at the bare minimum some evidential improvement in the team. We’re regressing year after year and any other “big club” wouldn’t tolerate the number of abysmal results and performances this season. Makes you question then now, are we even a big club anymore? We’re not. We’re Banter FC.

    • @znhait
      @znhait 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Now, you're exaggerating. You think Pep spoke German well at Bayern? Poch went around with an interpreter until he came to Tottenham. Emery has Bellerin--had Monreal--and Torreira who both speak Spanish. He has Lacazette, Auba, Guendouzi, and Pepe who all speak French. While Spanish is the only language he's fluent in, he can communicate with every player. Moreover, don't compare being interviewed live to anything else. When he's at training, he has much more time to put his thoughts together. The truth is that Emery isn't really a coach for a big team like Arsenal. The guy failed to win Ligue Un with PSG; that tells you everything you need to know.

  • @fwfeo
    @fwfeo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    His early tactical changes suggest that his analysis of the opposition was bad and their game plan is failing badly and he has to adjust to stop the ship from sinking!!
    If Liverpool can play 433 every game and get results, why can't Emery pick 4231 or whatever and get results by making players learn this one system well and make it work?
    His tactics are questionable and he's not an inspiring manager that maximizes his players performance (like Klöpp), so you get this low performing and confused set of players on the pitch!

  • @mansoryO

    if you remember when chambers ignored emery and got an assist when they needed a goal vs aston villa or in europa i dont remember, emery said he is glad he went against him. but that shows that he is possibly holding his players back? a formation like 3-4-3 or a 442 kills our attacking 3 now its auba and laca instead of auba laca pepe. laca isnt that quick but he's a great dribbler and striker. i am so frustrated with arsenal. even jose or the wolves coach know his teams strengths and takes advantage. he doesnt treat them like a sunday league team and take them baaack to basics

    Emery can be excused because of how terrible that backline is, and how mediocre his midfield is. However, he cannot be excused for the confusion. His decisions hinder his team's strength which is scoring goals. Arsenal needs to outscore their opponents, he should set his teams in order to score or at least create the same number of chances his team concedes. Emery's decision is counterproductive and haphazard of late. I realize Arsenal fans want him gone. However, in terms of competing for league titles, Champions League and at least the top four, no coach could do that with the team Arsenal has. Arsenal needs a complete overhaul on players.

    Emery just needs to simplify what he's doing and return to the principles that made him successful (quick passing and compact defense). He's trying to do too much and it's killing the system. He needs to play his best 11 at all times (this includes Ozil) and let them build some momentum. If that's a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, doesn't matter. Pick a system and run with it.

    We need a big coach with a big reputation, who players can look up to

  • @Grerty22
    @Grerty22 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wasn't emery the manager when PSG lost 6-1 to Barcelona to get knocked out of the champions league? Just saying he's managed PSG doesn't make him a good manager, and I think especially PSG where sometimes you wonder what they want in a manager. Powerful players and demanding owners are always going to have more power than any manager there.
    The problem for arsenal is they lack a link to play the ball out from the back. So compare to Chelsea and city, they have jorginho, rodri, fernandinho, kovacic who are comfortable dropping deep and playing in tight areas. I don't see xhaka or torreira or anyone in the arsenal midfield at that level.
    Or you look at Liverpool and their midfield isn't fantastic. Maybe a bit more similar to arsenal these days, and more workman and efficient, but the Liverpool midfield is also big and physical. Arsenal still have smaller players in midfield, but now these players aren't the same technical players as under Wenger, so they can't outplay many teams and they can't outbattle many teams in the midfield. They can work hard, but it's always going to be a struggle.
    Now if you can't play out into midfield then you can work it to full backs. So for Liverpool the full backs are more creative than the midfielders, and it could be the solution for arsenal too, but arsenal have pretty poor full backs. Bellerin is probably the best, but his main attribute is speed rather than technical skill. Maybe Maitland niles one day, he's kind of a victor Moses project, but Moses and Valencia were both good wingers first and had some experience in the game. Niles is still learning, so it will take a while.
    So there you have it, the manager wants to play attractive football and pass it out from the back, but really doesn't have the players in the middle third for it. They all have a good work rate, but lack quality, both offensively and defensively and it's no surprise that they give up 20 shots a game.

    First season he conspires to not win the league while having the strongest squad. Then he gets given Neymar and Mbappe and has that shocking champions league exit.

    Right, the reason why is fans want him gone is because Emery cost us top 4 with poor team selections in the last 8 games last season. On top of that we got battered in the Europa League Final. This form has continued into this season. The form has actually gotten even worse. He doesn’t know our best team, formation and is alienating our best players (Ozil, Pepe etc). We need a change for the sake of the season! It’s nothing to do with fans being delusional or selfish or hateful.
