no you apologize so you can get a reduced sentence. There are plenty of people in prison who got reduced sentences because the judge saw remorse and attrition in their court statements.

Remember that Opie is the guy who would wait until the literal last day of their contract renewal process EVERY SINGLE TIME and forced everyone who was also on the contract to do the same. He doesn't like the 2 year with open 2nd year contract because it was the only type of contract that messed with his "tactic" and he didn't want to reveal that on air.

He had his right after serving his time to play again, no argument here on that. HOWEVER... I also as a dog dad to 3 of the sweetest and most innocent SOULS I also had every right to hope he failed miserably.

They also drowned approximately three dogs by putting the dogs’ heads in a five gallon bucket of water.” They killed one dog by “slamming it to the ground several times before it died, breaking the dog’s back or neck
2.) According to a witness, the men fought their trained pit bulls with pet dogs, and they “thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs
3.) “In or about March of 2003, VICK about the losing female pit bull’s condition, executed the losing dog by wetting the dog down with water and electrocuting the animal.” He ELOTROCUTED a dog.
4.) Created torture chambers using animal training and breeding equipment, including a “rape stand”, a device in which a female dog who is too aggressive to submit to males for breeding is strapped down with her head in a restraint. He went out of his way to make things so dogs could be RAPED.
5.) He admitted to ALL OF IT....Vick also pled guilty, admitting to funding the dogfighting operation and the associated gambling operation. He admitted to knowing about four dogs that his co-conspirators killed in 2002, and he admitted to agreeing to the hanging and drowning of 6-8 dogs who underperformed in 2007.

It's not just it being about dogs dying in movies it's the pure innocence being betrayed, it's also why kids dying are much harder to process than adults they are innocence personified. But why should he be forgiven? In such situations where the act in question isn't personal against you, forgiveness should be reserved for the remorseful. I phrase it this way bc there are some certain situations where a PERSONAL violation is so egregious that the violated individual needs to find forgiveness within themselves to heal their OWN spirit. Really wasn't vibin w/ Patrice on this one. Remorsefulness isn't a substitute for legal restitution. Being remorseful is a good sign, as it indicates someone is less likely to repeat the offense, but jail time is more about getting that person out of society and making them pay a price so heavy that they are extremely deterred from repeating the offense. There need to be consequences for actions and Michael Vick the sadist got off light.
If he hasn't done the crime again then that shows that he didn't get off light because the punishment that he received has deterred him from repeating the offense.
