      Yes, even throwing subtle jabs at the beginning. He's seriously passive aggressive. What I hate most about Opie is how much of myself I see in him. I am that kinda twat

    One of the things that I hate about most of the new listeners, ones that just found O&A a couple months ago on YT, is they all seem to post about how much Patrice hated racist Anthony and just came on to argue with him. How they listen to the endless show clips like this and not get how much Patrice loved and revered Anthony is astounding.

      I've never really seen that. So either thats some deep BS or projecting. Aside from missing Patrice, most of the comments shit on Opie cuz we know Ant is racist. Patrice is just undeniable.

    And yet Bill Burr would have everyone believe there was no connection between Ant and Patrice.

    • @21kburd
      @21kburd 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      He never said that. He just doesn't like Ant cause he said a bunch of fucked up things about his wife.

    • @dankind80
      @dankind80 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@21kburd You're right. He did. But not adding Anthony to the documentaries out of personal spite is the wrong way to tell Patrice's story. Anthony was a key figure in Patrice's life. To memory hole him when memorializing their mutual friend gives the perception that there was no Anthony Cumia, and therefore no relationship. It's wrong. It's petty. It's ahistoric.

    • @21kburd
      @21kburd 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @dankind80 It also could have been Patrice's family and Von that didn't want him in the doc. I agree, it's wrong to have a documentary of Patrice without including Cumia but Ant really went off the rails after Obama's election and Patrice's death. His racism was still soft enough to pass comedically. I really think Patrice was the only bridge that kept Ant's ideology towards race, humble. Once Ant lost his one black friend, he couldn't be reasoned enough with to stay in society's good graces.

    • @dankind80
      @dankind80 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@21kburd Excellent point, and I would not rule it out. Von has proven to be all about herself, and was using her man's status in an attempt to launch her own career, so I doubt she'd care much for the accuracy of his story being told. You are right again. Either way, it's clear Anthony is unwelcome. This is unfortunate, but that's the way it goes. We don't like a statue? Tear it down. We don't like a person, he never existed. Very scary reality.

      I think Bill's wife may have pressured Bill to cut Anthony off. I can't imagine ANYONE could listen to the amazing chemistry Anthony and Patrice had (on SO many O and A shows) and believe that Patrice hated Anthony. Above all else, Patrice hated phonies. He said all the time that Anthony is a racist, but I think he appreciated Anthony's honesty. And there is NO question that he found Anthony to be hilarious.
